நீதிமொழிகள் 8

1 ௧ ஞானம் கூப்பிடுகிறதில்லையோ? புத்தி சத்தமிடுகிறதில்லையோ?

Does not Wisdom call out? Does not Understanding raise her voice?

2 ௨ அது வழியருகே உள்ள மேடைகளிலும், நான்கு சந்திப்புகளிலும் நிற்கிறது.

On the hilltops beside the road, at the crossroads, Wisdom has taken her stand.

3 ௩ அது ஊர்வாசல்களின் ஓரத்திலும், பட்டணத்தின் வாசலிலும், நடை கூடங்களிலும் நின்று சத்தமிட்டு:

Before the gates at the entrance into the city, at the entrances into the city, she calls out.

4 ௪ மனிதர்களே, உங்களை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுகிறேன்; என்னுடைய சத்தம் மனுமக்களுக்குத் தொனிக்கும்.

“It is to you, people, that I call; my voice is for the sons of mankind.

5 ௫ பேதைகளே, விவேகம் அடையுங்கள்; மூடர்களே, புத்தியுள்ள சிந்தையாக இருங்கள்.

You who are naive, learn wisdom; and you who are foolish, you must get an understanding mind.

6 ௬ கேளுங்கள், மேன்மையான காரியங்களைப் பேசுவேன்; என்னுடைய உதடுகள் உத்தம காரியங்களை வசனிக்கும்.

Listen, because I will speak of noble things, and when my lips open I will say upright things.

7 ௭ என்னுடைய வாய் சத்தியத்தைச் சொல்லும், ஏளனம் என்னுடைய உதடுகளுக்கு அருவருப்பானது.

For my mouth speaks what is trustworthy, and wickedness is disgusting to my lips.

8 ௮ என்னுடைய வாயின் வாக்குகளெல்லாம் நீதியானவைகள்; அவைகளில் புரட்டும் விபரீதமும் இல்லை.

All the words of my mouth are just; in them is nothing twisted or misleading.

9 ௯ அவைகளெல்லாம் புத்தியுள்ளவனுக்குத் தெளிவும், ஞானத்தைப் பெற்றவர்களுக்கு எதார்த்தமாகவும் இருக்கும்.

All of them are straight for the person who understands; my words are upright for those who find knowledge.

10 ௧0 வெள்ளியைவிட என்னுடைய புத்திமதியையும், சுத்தபொன்னைவிட ஞானத்தையும் அங்கீகரித்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.

Acquire my instruction rather than silver; acquire knowledge rather than pure gold.

11 ௧௧ முத்துக்களைவிட ஞானமே நல்லது; ஆசைப்படத்தக்கவைகள் எல்லாம் அதற்கு நிகரல்ல.

For Wisdom is better than jewels; no treasure is equal to her.

12 ௧௨ ஞானமாகிய நான் விவேகத்தோடு தங்கி, நல்யுக்தியான அறிவுகளைக் கண்டடைகிறேன்.

I, Wisdom, live with Prudence, and I possess knowledge and discretion.

13 ௧௩ தீமையை வெறுப்பதே யெகோவாவுக்குப் பயப்படும் பயம்; பெருமையையும், அகந்தையையும், தீய வழியையும், மாறுபாடுள்ள வாயையும் நான் வெறுக்கிறேன்.

The fear of Yahweh is to hate evil. I hate pride and arrogance, the evil way, and perverted speech. I hate them.

14 ௧௪ ஆலோசனையும் மெய்ஞானமும் என்னுடையவைகள்; நானே புத்தி, வல்லமை என்னுடையது.

I have good advice and sound wisdom; I am insight; strength belongs to me.

15 ௧௫ என்னாலே ராஜாக்கள் அரசாளுகிறார்கள், பிரபுக்கள் நீதிசெலுத்துகிறார்கள்.

By me kings reign, and rulers make laws that are just.

16 ௧௬ என்னாலே அதிகாரிகளும், பிரபுக்களும், பூமியிலுள்ள எல்லா நியாயாதிபதிகளும் ஆளுகை செய்துவருகிறார்கள்.

By me princes rule, nobles, and all who govern with justice.

17 ௧௭ என்னை நேசிக்கிறவர்களை நான் நேசிக்கிறேன்; அதிகாலையில் என்னைத் தேடுகிறவர்கள் என்னைக் கண்டடைவார்கள்.

I love those who love me, and those who diligently seek me, find me.

18 ௧௮ செல்வமும், கனமும், நிலையான பொருளும், நீதியும் என்னிடத்தில் உண்டு.

With me are riches and honor, lasting wealth and righteousness.

19 ௧௯ பொன்னையும் தங்கத்தையும்விட என்னுடைய பலன் நல்லது; சுத்த வெள்ளியைவிட என்னுடைய வருமானம் நல்லது.

My fruit is better than gold, even fine gold; my produce is better than pure silver.

20 ௨0 என்னை நேசிக்கிறவர்கள் மெய்ப்பொருளை பெற்றுக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கும், அவர்களுடைய களஞ்சியங்களை நான் நிரப்பும்படிக்கும்,

I walk in the path of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice.

21 ௨௧ அவர்களை நீதியின் வழியிலும், நியாயபாதைகளுக்குள்ளும் நடத்துகிறேன்.

As a result, I make those who love me inherit wealth; I fill up their treasuries.

22 ௨௨ யெகோவா தமது செயல்களுக்குமுன் ஆரம்பமுதல் என்னைத் தமது வழியின் துவக்கமாகக்கொண்டிருந்தார்.

Yahweh created me at the beginning, the first of his deeds then.

23 ௨௩ பூமி உண்டாவதற்குமுன்னும், ஆரம்பம்முதற்கொண்டும் அநாதியாய் நான் அபிஷேகம்செய்யப்பட்டேன்.

In ages long ago I was made—from the first, from the beginnings of the earth.

24 ௨௪ ஆழங்களும், தண்ணீர் புரண்டுவரும் ஊற்றுகளும் உண்டாகுமுன்பே நான் உருவாக்கப்பட்டேன்.

Before there were oceans, I was given birth— before there were springs abounding with water.

25 ௨௫ மலைகள் நிலைபெறுவதற்கு முன்னும், குன்றுகள் உண்டாவதற்கு முன்னும்,

Before the mountains were settled and before the hills, I was born.

26 ௨௬ அவர் பூமியையும் அதின் வெளிகளையும், பூமியிலுள்ள மண்ணின் திரள்களையும் உண்டாக்குமுன்னும் நான் உருவாக்கப்பட்டேன்.

I was born before Yahweh had made the earth or the fields, or even the first dust in the world.

27 ௨௭ அவர் வானங்களைப் படைக்கும்போது நான் அங்கே இருந்தேன்; அவர் சமுத்திர விலாசத்தை குறிக்கும்போதும்,

I was there when he established the heavens, when he drew a circle on the surface of the deep.

28 ௨௮ உயரத்தில் மேகங்களை அமைத்து, சமுத்திரத்தின் ஊற்றுகளை அடைத்துவைக்கும்போதும்,

I was there when he established the clouds above and when the springs in the deep became fixed.

29 ௨௯ சமுத்திரத் தண்ணீர் தன்னுடைய கரையைவிட்டு மீறாதபடி அதற்கு எல்லையைக் கட்டளையிட்டு, பூமியின் அஸ்திபாரங்களை நிலைப்படுத்தும்போதும்,

I was there when he made his limit for the sea, so the waters should not spread beyond his command, and when there was set the limit for the foundations of the dry land.

30 ௩0 நான் அவர் அருகே செல்லப்பிள்ளையாக இருந்தேன்; எப்பொழுதும் அவருடைய மனமகிழ்ச்சியாக இருந்து, எப்பொழுதும் அவருடைய சமுகத்தில் களிகூர்ந்தேன்.

I was beside him, as a skilled craftsman; I was his delight day after day, always rejoicing before him.

31 ௩௧ அவருடைய பூவுலகத்தில் சந்தோஷப்பட்டு, மனுமக்களுடனே மகிழ்ந்து கொண்டிருந்தேன்.

I was rejoicing in his whole world, and my delight was in the sons of mankind.

32 ௩௨ ஆதலால் பிள்ளைகளே, எனக்குச் செவிகொடுங்கள்; என்னுடைய வழிகளைக் காத்து நடக்கிறவர்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள்.

Now, my sons, listen to me, for those who keep my ways will be blessed.

33 ௩௩ நீங்கள் புத்தியைக் கேட்டு, ஞானமடையுங்கள்; அதைவிட்டு விலகாமல் இருங்கள்.

Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not neglect it.

34 ௩௪ என்னுடைய வாசற்படியில் எப்பொழுதும் விழித்திருந்து, என்னுடைய கதவு நிலை அருகே காத்திருந்து, எனக்குச் செவிகொடுக்கிற மனிதன் பாக்கியவான்.

The one who listens to me will be blessed. He will be watching every day at my doors, waiting beside the posts of my doors.

35 ௩௫ என்னைக் கண்டடைகிறவன் வாழ்வைக் கண்டடைகிறான்; யெகோவாவிடத்தில் தயவையும் பெறுவான்.

For whoever finds me, finds life, and he will find the favor of Yahweh.

36 ௩௬ எனக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவம் செய்கிறவனோ, தன்னுடைய ஆத்துமாவைச் சேதப்படுத்துகிறான்; என்னை வெறுக்கிறவர்கள் எல்லோரும் மரணத்தை விரும்புகிறவர்கள் என்று சொல்லுகிறது.

But he who fails, harms his own life; all who hate me love death.”
