நீதிமொழிகள் 24

1 ௧ பொல்லாத மனிதர்கள்மேல் பொறாமைகொள்ளாதே; அவர்களோடு இருக்கவும் விரும்பாதே.

Be not thou enuious against euill men, neither desire to be with them.

2 ௨ அவர்களுடைய இருதயம் கொடுமையை யோசிக்கும், அவர்களுடைய உதடுகள் தீவினையைப் பேசும்.

For their heart imagineth destruction, and their lippes speake mischiefe.

3 ௩ வீடு ஞானத்தினாலே கட்டப்பட்டு, விவேகத்தினாலே நிலைநிறுத்தப்படும்.

Through wisdome is an house builded, and with vnderstanding it is established.

4 ௪ அறிவினாலே அறைகளில் அருமையும் இனிமையுமான எல்லாவிதப் பொருள்களும் நிறைந்திருக்கும்.

And by knowledge shall the chambers bee filled with all precious, and pleasant riches.

5 ௫ ஞானமுள்ளவன் பெலமுள்ளவன்; அறிவுள்ளவன் தன்னுடைய வல்லமையை அதிகரிக்கச்செய்கிறான்.

A wise man is strong: for a man of vnderstanding encreaseth his strength.

6 ௬ நல்யோசனைசெய்து யுத்தம்செய்; ஆலோசனைக்காரர்கள் அநேகரால் வெற்றி கிடைக்கும்.

For with counsel thou shalt enterprise thy warre, and in the multitude of them that can giue counsell, is health.

7 ௭ மூடனுக்கு ஞானம் எட்டாத உயரமாக இருக்கும்; அவன் நீதிமன்றத்தில் தன்னுடைய வாயைத் திறக்கமாட்டான்.

Wisdome is hie to a foole: therefore he can not open his mouth in the gate.

8 ௮ தீவினைசெய்ய நினைக்கிறவன் மதிகெட்டவன் என்னப்படுவான்.

Hee that imagineth to doe euill, men shall call him an autour of wickednes.

9 ௯ தீயநோக்கம் பாவமாகும்; பரியாசக்காரன் மனிதர்களுக்கு அருவருப்பானவன்.

The wicked thought of a foole is sinne, and the scorner is an abomination vnto men.

10 ௧0 ஆபத்துக்காலத்தில் நீ சோர்ந்துபோனால், உன்னுடைய பெலன் குறுகினது.

If thou bee faint in the day of aduersitie, thy strength is small.

11 ௧௧ மரணத்திற்கு ஒப்புவிக்கப்பட்டவர்களையும், கொலைசெய்வதற்கு கொண்டுபோகிறவர்களையும் விடுவிக்க முடிந்தால் விடுவி.

Deliuer them that are drawen to death: wilt thou not preserue them that are led to be slaine?

12 ௧௨ அதை நாங்கள் அறியோம் என்று சொன்னால், இருதயங்களைச் சோதிக்கிறவர் அறியமாட்டாரோ? உன்னுடைய ஆத்துமாவைக் காக்கிறவர் கவனிக்கமாட்டாரோ? அவர் மனிதர்களுக்கு அவனவன் செயல்களுக்கு தக்கதாகப் பலனளிக்கமாட்டாரோ?

If thou say, Beholde, we knew not of it: he that pondereth the heartes, doeth not hee vnderstand it? and hee that keepeth thy soule, knoweth he it not? will not he also recompense euery man according to his workes?

13 ௧௩ என் மகனே, தேனைச் சாப்பிடு, அது நல்லது; கூட்டிலிருந்து ஒழுகும் தேன் உன் வாய்க்கு இன்பமாக இருக்கும்.

My sonne, eate hony, for it is good, and the hony combe, for it is sweete vnto thy mouth.

14 ௧௪ அப்படியே ஞானத்தை அறிந்துகொள்வது உன்னுடைய ஆத்துமாவுக்கு இன்பமாக இருக்கும்; அதைப் பெற்றுக்கொண்டால், அது முடிவில் உதவும், உன்னுடைய நம்பிக்கை வீண்போகாது.

So shall the knowledge of wisdome be vnto thy soule, if thou finde it, and there shall be an ende, and thine hope shall not be cut off.

15 ௧௫ துன்மார்க்கனே, நீ நீதிமானுடைய வீட்டிற்கு விரோதமாக மறைந்திருக்காதே; அவன் தங்கும் இடத்தைப் பாழாக்கிப்போடாதே.

Laye no waite, O wicked man, against the house of the righteous, and spoyle not his resting place.

16 ௧௬ நீதிமான் ஏழுமுறை விழுந்தாலும் திரும்பவும் எழுந்திருப்பான்; துன்மார்க்கர்களோ தீங்கிலே இடறுண்டு கிடப்பார்கள்.

For a iust man falleth seuen times, and riseth againe: but the wicked fall into mischiefe.

17 ௧௭ உன் எதிரி விழும்போது சந்தோஷப்படாதே; அவன் இடறும்போது உன்னுடைய இருதயம் சந்தோஷப்படாமல் இருப்பதாக.

Bee thou not glad when thine enemie falleth, and let not thine heart reioyce when hee stumbleth,

18 ௧௮ யெகோவா அதைக் காண்பார், அது அவருடைய பார்வைக்கு தீங்காக இருக்கும்; அப்பொழுது அவனிடத்திலிருந்து அவர் தமது கோபத்தை நீக்கிவிடுவார்.

Least the Lord see it, and it displease him, and he turne his wrath from him.

19 ௧௯ பொல்லாதவர்களைக்குறித்து எரிச்சலாகாதே; துன்மார்க்கர்மேல் பொறாமை கொள்ளாதே.

Fret not thy selfe because of the malicious, neither be enuious at the wicked.

20 ௨0 துன்மார்க்கனுக்கு நல்ல முடிவு இல்லை; துன்மார்க்கர்களுடைய விளக்கு அணைந்துபோகும்.

For there shall bee none ende of plagues to the euill man: the light of the wicked shall bee put out.

21 ௨௧ என் மகனே, நீ யெகோவாவுக்கும் ராஜாவுக்கும் பயந்து நட, கலகக்காரர்களோடு சேராதே.

My sonne feare the Lord, and the King, and meddle not with them that are sedicious.

22 ௨௨ திடீரென அவர்களுடைய ஆபத்து எழும்பும்; அவர்கள் இருவரின் அழிவையும் அறிந்தவன் யார்?

For their destruction shall rise suddenly, and who knoweth the ruine of them both?

23 ௨௩ பின்னும் ஞானமுள்ளவர்களின் புத்திமதிகள் என்னவெனில்: நியாயத்திலே பாரபட்சம் நல்லதல்ல.

ALSO THESE THINGS PERTEINE TO THE WISE, It is not good to haue respect of any person in iudgement.

24 ௨௪ துன்மார்க்கனைப் பார்த்து: நீதிமானாக இருக்கிறாய் என்று சொல்லுகிறவனை மக்கள் சபிப்பார்கள், குடிமக்கள் அவனை வெறுப்பார்கள்.

He that saith to the wicked, Thou art righteous, him shall the people curse, and the multitude shall abhorre him.

25 ௨௫ அவனைக் கடிந்துகொள்ளுகிறவர்கள்மேல் பிரியம் உண்டாகும், அவர்களுக்கு உத்தம ஆசீர்வாதம் கிடைக்கும்.

But to them that rebuke him, shall be pleasure, and vpon them shall come the blessing of goodnesse.

26 ௨௬ செம்மையான மறுமொழி சொல்லுகிறவன் உதடுகளை முத்தமிடுகிறவனுக்குச் சமம்.

They shall kisse the lippes of him that answereth vpright wordes.

27 ௨௭ வெளியில் உன்னுடைய வேலையைத் தயாராக்கி, வயலில் அதை ஒழுங்காக்கி, பின்பு உன்னுடைய வீட்டைக் கட்டு.

Prepare thy worke without, and make readie thy thinges in the fielde, and after, builde thine house.

28 ௨௮ நியாயமில்லாமல் பிறனுக்கு விரோதமாகச் சாட்சியாக ஏற்படாதே; உன்னுடைய உதடுகளினால் வஞ்சகம் பேசாதே.

Be not a witnes against thy neighbour without cause: for wilt thou deceiue with thy lippes?

29 ௨௯ அவன் எனக்குச் செய்தபடி நானும் அவனுக்குச் செய்வேன், அவன் செய்த செயல்களுக்குத் தகுந்தபடி நானும் அவனுக்குச் சரிக்கட்டுவேன் என்று நீ சொல்லாதே.

Say not, I wil doe to him, as he hath done to mee, I will recompence euery man according to his worke.

30 ௩0 சோம்பேறியின் வயலையும், மதியீனனுடைய திராட்சைத்தோட்டத்தையும் கடந்துபோனேன்.

I passed by the fielde of the slouthfull, and by the vineyarde of the man destitute of vnderstanding.

31 ௩௧ இதோ, அதெல்லாம் முள்ளுக்காடாக இருந்தது; நிலத்தின் முகத்தை முட்கள் மூடினது, அதின் கற்சுவர் இடிந்துகிடந்தது.

And lo, it was al growen ouer with thornes, and nettles had couered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken downe.

32 ௩௨ அதைக் கண்டு சிந்தனை செய்தேன்; அதை நோக்கிப் புத்தியடைந்தேன்.

Then I behelde, and I considered it well: I looked vpon it, and receiued instruction.

33 ௩௩ இன்னும் கொஞ்சம் உறங்கட்டும், இன்னும் கொஞ்சம் கைமுடக்கிக்கொண்டு தூங்கட்டும் என்பாயோ?

Yet a litle sleepe, a litle slumber, a litle folding of the handes to sleepe.

34 ௩௪ உன் தரித்திரம் வழிப்போக்கனைப்போலவும் உன் வறுமை ஆயுதம் அணிந்தவனைப்போலவும் வரும்.

So thy pouertie commeth as one that traueileth by the way, and thy necessitie like an armed man.
