நீதிமொழிகள் 2

1 ௧ என் மகனே, நீ உன்னுடைய செவியை ஞானத்திற்குச் சாய்த்து, உன்னுடைய இருதயத்தைப் புத்திக்கு அமையச்செய்வதற்காக,

[My] son, if thou wilt receive the utterance of my commandment, and hide it with thee;

2 ௨ நீ என்னுடைய வார்த்தைகளை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, என்னுடைய கட்டளைகளை உன்னிடத்தில் பத்திரப்படுத்தி,

thine ear shall hearken to wisdom; thou shalt also apply thine heart to understanding, and shalt apply it to the instruction of thy son.

3 ௩ ஞானத்தை வா என்று கூப்பிட்டு, புத்தியைச் சத்தமிட்டு அழைத்து,

For it thou shalt call to wisdom, and utter thy voice for understanding;

4 ௪ அதை வெள்ளியைப்போல் நாடி, புதையல்களைத் தேடுகிறதுபோல் தேடினால்,

and if thou shalt seek it as silver, and search diligently for it as for treasures;

5 ௫ அப்பொழுது யெகோவாவுக்குப் பயப்படுதல் இன்னதென்று நீ உணர்ந்து, தேவனை அறியும் அறிவைக் கண்டடைவாய்.

then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.

6 ௬ யெகோவா ஞானத்தைத் தருகிறார்; அவருடைய வாயிலிருந்து அறிவும் புத்தியும் வரும்.

For the Lord gives wisdom; and from his presence [come] knowledge and understanding,

7 ௭ அவர் நீதிமான்களுக்கென்று மெய்ஞானத்தை வைத்திருக்கிறார்; உத்தமமாக நடக்கிறவர்களுக்கு அவர் கேடகமாக இருக்கிறார்.

and he treasures up salvation for them that walk uprightly: he will protect their way;

8 ௮ அவர் நியாயத்தின் வழிகளைத் தற்காத்து, தம்முடைய பரிசுத்தவான்களின் பாதையைக் காப்பாற்றுகிறார்.

that he may guard the righteous ways: and he will preserve the way of them that fear him.

9 ௯ அப்பொழுது நீதியையும், நியாயத்தையும், நிதானத்தையும், எல்லா நல்வழிகளையும் அறிந்துகொள்வாய்.

Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment; and shalt direct all thy course aright.

10 ௧0 ஞானம் உன்னுடைய இருதயத்தில் நுழைந்து, அறிவு உன்னுடைய ஆத்துமாவுக்கு இன்பமாக இருக்கும்போது,

For if wisdom shall come into thine understanding, and discernment shall seem pleasing to thy soul,

11 ௧௧ நல்யோசனை உன்னைக் காப்பாற்றும், புத்தி உன்னைப் பாதுகாக்கும்.

good counsel shall guard thee, and holy understanding shall keep thee;

12 ௧௨ அதினால் நீ துன்மார்க்கர்களுடைய வழிக்கும், மாறுபாடு பேசுகிற மனிதனுக்கும்,

to deliver thee from the evil way, and from the man that speaks nothing faithfully.

13 ௧௩ இருளான வழிகளில் நடக்க நீதிநெறிகளைவிட்டு,

Alas [for those] who forsake right paths, to walk in ways of darkness;

14 ௧௪ தீமைசெய்ய மகிழ்ந்து, துன்மார்க்கர்களுடைய மாறுபாடுகளில் களிகூருகிறவர்களுக்கும்,

who rejoice in evils, and delight in wicked perverseness;

15 ௧௫ மாறுபாடான பாதைகளிலும் கோணலான வழிகளிலும் நடக்கிறவர்களுக்கும் நீ தப்புவிக்கப்படுவாய்.

whose paths are crooked, and their courses winding;

16 ௧௬ தன்னுடைய இளவயதின் நாயகனை விட்டு, தன்னுடைய தேவனுடைய உடன்படிக்கையை மறந்து,

to remove thee far from the straight way, and to estrange thee from a righteous purpose. [My] son, let not evil counsel overtake thee,

17 ௧௭ ஆசை வார்த்தைகளைப் பேசும் அந்நிய பெண்ணாகிய ஒழுங்கீனமானவளுக்கும் தப்புவிக்கப்படுவாய்.

[of her] who has forsaken the instruction of her youth, and forgotten the covenant of God.

18 ௧௮ அவளுடைய வீடு மரணத்திற்கும், அவளுடைய பாதைகள் மரித்தவர்களிடத்திற்கும் சாய்கிறது.

For she has fixed her house near death, and [guided] her wheels near Hades with the giants.

19 ௧௯ அவளிடத்தில் போகிறவர்களில் ஒருவரும் திரும்புகிறதில்லை, வாழ்வின்பாதைகளில் வந்து சேருகிறதுமில்லை.

None that go by her shall return, neither shall they take hold of right paths, for they are not apprehended of the years of life.

20 ௨0 ஆதலால் நீ நல்லவர்களின் வழியிலே நடந்து, நீதிமான்களின் பாதைகளைக் காத்துக்கொள்.

For had they gone in good paths, they would have found the paths of righteousness easy.

21 ௨௧ நன்மை செய்கிறவர்கள் பூமியிலே தங்குவார்கள்; உத்தமர்கள் அதிலே தங்கியிருப்பார்கள்.

For the upright shall dwell in the earth, and the holy shall be left behind in it.

22 ௨௨ துன்மார்க்கர்களோ பூமியிலிருந்து துண்டிக்கப்பட்டுபோவார்கள்; துரோகிகள் அதில் இல்லாதபடி அழிவார்கள்.

The paths of the ungodly shall perish out of the earth, and transgressors shall be driven away from it.
