1 ௧ ஏகூத் இறந்தபின்பு இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் திரும்பக் யெகோவாவுடைய பார்வைக்குத் தீமையானதைச் செய்துவந்தார்கள்.
And the sons of Israel again did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, when Ehud was dead.
2 ௨ ஆகவே, யெகோவா அவர்களை ஆத்சோரில் ஆளுகிற யாபீன் என்னும் கானானியர்களுடைய ராஜாவின் கையிலே ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்; அவனுடைய தளபதிக்கு சிசெரா என்று பெயர்; அவன் புறஜாதிகளுடைய பட்டணமாகிய அரோசேத்திலே குடியிருந்தான்.
And Jehovah sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan who reigned in Hazor, the captain of whose army was Sisera who dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.
3 ௩ அவனுக்குத் 900 இரும்பு ரதங்கள் இருந்தன; அவன் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களை இருபது வருடங்கள் கொடுமையாக ஒடுக்கினான்; இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் யெகோவாவை நோக்கி முறையிட்டார்கள்.
And the sons of Israel cried to Jehovah, for he had nine hundred chariots of iron, and he mightily oppressed the sons of Israel twenty years.
4 ௪ அக்காலத்திலே லபிதோத்தின் மனைவியாகிய தெபொராள் என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசியானவள் இஸ்ரவேலை நியாயம் விசாரித்தாள்.
Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
5 ௫ அவள் எப்பிராயீம் மலைத்தேசமான ராமாவுக்கும் பெத்தேலுக்கும் நடுவிலிருக்கிற தெபொராளின் பேரீச்சை மரத்தின் கீழே குடியிருந்தாள்; அங்கே இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் அவளிடத்திற்கு நியாயவிசாரணைக்குப் போவார்கள்.
And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill-country of Ephraim, and the sons of Israel came up to her for judgment.
6 ௬ அவள் நப்தலியிலுள்ள கேதேசிலிருக்கிற அபினோகாமின் மகன் பாராக்கை வரவழைத்து: நீ நப்தலி மனிதர்களிலும், செபுலோன் மனிதர்களிலும் 10,000 பேரை அழைத்துக்கொண்டு, தாபோர் மலைக்குப் போகவேண்டும் என்றும்,
And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh-naphtali, and said to him, Has not Jehovah, the God of Israel, commanded, saying, Go and approach to mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the sons of Naphtali and of the sons of Zebulun?
7 ௭ நான் யாபீனின் தளபதியாகிய சிசெராவையும், அவனுடைய ரதங்களையும், அவனுடைய படைகளையும், கீசோன் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே உன்னிடத்திற்கு வர இழுத்து, அவனை உன் கையில் ஒப்புகொடுப்பேன் என்றும், இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடவில்லையா என்றாள்.
And I will draw Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, to thee, to the river Kishon, with his chariots and his multitude, and I will deliver him into thy hand.
And Barak said to her, If thou will go with me, then I will go, but if thou will not go with me, I will not go.
9 ௯ அதற்கு அவள்: நான் உன்னோடு நிச்சயமாக வருவேன்; ஆனாலும் நீ போகிற பயணத்தில் உண்டாகிற மேன்மை உனக்குக் கிடையாது; யெகோவா சிசெராவை ஒரு பெண்ணின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பார் என்று சொல்லி, தெபொராள் எழுந்து, பாராக்கோடு கேதேசுக்குப் போனாள்.
And she said, I will surely go with thee. Notwithstanding, the journey that thou take shall not be for thine honor, for Jehovah will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.
10 ௧0 அப்பொழுது பாராக்: செபுலோன் மனிதர்களையும் நப்தலி மனிதர்களையும் கேதேசுக்கு வரவழைத்து, தனக்குப் பின்செல்லும் பத்தாயிரம்பேர்களோடு போனான்; தெபொராளும் அவனோடு போனாள்.
And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali together to Kedesh. And there went up ten thousand men at his feet, and Deborah went up with him.
11 ௧௧ கேனியனான ஏபேர் என்பவன் மோசேயின் மாமனாகிய ஓபாபின் சந்ததியாக இருக்கிற கேனியர்களை விட்டுப் பிரிந்து, கேதேசின் அருகில் இருக்கிற சானாயிம் என்னும் கர்வாலி மரங்களின் அருகே தன்னுடைய கூடாரத்தைப் போட்டிருந்தான்.
Now Heber the Kenite had separated himself from the Kenites, even from the sons of Hobab the brother-in-law of Moses, and had pitched his tent as far as the oak in Zaanannim, which is by Kedesh.
And they told Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to mount Tabor.
13 ௧௩ சிசெரா தொள்ளாயிரம் இரும்பு ரதங்களாகிய தன்னுடைய எல்லா ரதங்களையும், தன்னோடிருக்கும் எல்லா மக்களையும், புறஜாதிகளின் பட்டணமாகிய அரோசேத்திலிருந்து கீசோன் பள்ளத்தாக்கிற்கு வரவழைத்தான்.
And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles, to the river Kishon.
14 ௧௪ அப்பொழுது தெபொராள் பாராக்கை நோக்கி: எழுந்துபோ; யெகோவா சிசெராவை உன்னுடைய கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கும் நாள் இதுவே; யெகோவா உனக்கு முன்பாகப் புறப்படவில்லையா என்றாள்; அப்பொழுது பாராக்கும், அவன் பின்னே 10,000 பேரும் தாபோர் மலையிலிருந்து இறங்கினார்கள்.
And Deborah said to Barak, Up, for this is the day in which Jehovah has delivered Sisera into thy hand. Has not Jehovah gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.
15 ௧௫ யெகோவா சிசெராவையும் அந்த எல்லா ரதங்களையும் படைகள் அனைத்தையும் பாராக்குக்கு முன்பாகக் கலங்கடித்தார்; சிசெரா ரதத்தைவிட்டு இறங்கி கால்நடையாக ஓடிப்போனான்.
And Jehovah discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his army, with the edge of the sword before Barak. And Sisera alighted from his chariot, and fled away on his feet.
16 ௧௬ பாராக் ரதங்களையும் படையையும் யூதர் அல்லாதவர்களுடைய அரோசேத்வரை துரத்தினான்; சிசெராவின் படையெல்லாம் பட்டயக்கூர்மையினால் விழுந்தது; ஒருவனும் மீதியாக இருக்கவில்லை.
But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the army, to Harosheth of the Gentiles. And all the army of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword. There was not a man left.
17 ௧௭ சிசெரா கால்நடையாகக் கேனியனான ஏபேரின் மனைவி யாகேலுடைய கூடாரத்திற்கு ஓடிவந்தான்; அப்பொழுது யாபீன் என்னும் ஆத்சோரின் ராஜாவுக்கும், கேனியனான ஏபேரின் வீட்டிற்கும் சமாதானம் உண்டாயிருந்தது.
However Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite, for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.
18 ௧௮ யாகேல் வெளியே சிசெராவுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுபோய்: உள்ளே வாரும்; என்னுடைய ஆண்டவனே, என்னிடத்தில் உள்ளே வாரும், பயப்பட வேண்டாம் என்று அவனிடம் சொன்னாள்; அப்படியே அவள் கூடாரத்தின் உள்ளே வந்தபோது, அவனை ஒரு போர்வையினாலே மூடினாள்.
And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said to him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And he turned in to her into the tent, and she covered him with a rug.
19 ௧௯ அவன் அவளைப் பார்த்து; குடிக்க எனக்குக் கொஞ்சம் தண்ணீர் கொடு, தாகமாக இருக்கிறேன் என்றான்; அவள் பால் இருக்கும் தோல்பையை திறந்து, அவனுக்குக் குடிக்கக்கொடுத்து, திரும்பவும் அவனை மூடினாள்.
And he said to her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water to drink, for I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.
20 ௨0 அப்பொழுது அவன்: நீ கூடாரவாசலிலே நின்று, எவராகிலும் ஒருவன் வந்து, இங்கே யாராகிலும் இருக்கிறார்களா என்று உன்னிடம் கேட்டால், இல்லை என்று சொல் என்றான்.
And he said to her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man comes and inquires of thee, and says, Is there any man here? that thou shall say, No.
21 ௨௧ பின்பு ஏபேரின் மனைவியாகிய யாகேல் ஒரு கூடார ஆணியை எடுத்து தன்னுடைய கையிலே சுத்தியைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு, மெதுவாக அவனுடைய அருகில் வந்து, அவனுடைய தலையின் பக்கவாட்டில் அந்த ஆணியை அடித்தாள்; அது ஊடுருவிப்போய், தரையிலே புதைந்தது; அப்பொழுது அயர்ந்து தூங்கிக்கொண்டிருந்த அவன் இறந்துபோனான்.
Then Jael Heber's wife took a tent-pin, and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly to him, and struck the pin into his temples, and it pierced through into the ground, for he was in a deep sleep, so he fainted and died.
22 ௨௨ பின்பு சிசெராவை பின்தொடருகிற பாராக் வந்தான்; அப்பொழுது யாகேல் வெளியே அவனுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுபோய்: வாரும், நீ தேடுகிற மனிதனை உமக்குக் காண்பிப்பேன் என்று சொன்னாள்; அவன் அவளிடத்திற்கு வந்தபோது, இதோ, சிசெரா செத்துக்கிடந்தான்; ஆணி அவனுடைய தலையில் அடித்திருந்தது.
And, behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said to him, Come, and I will show thee the man whom thou seek. And he came to her, and, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the tent-pin was in his temples.
23 ௨௩ இப்படி தேவன் அந்த நாளிலே கானானியர்களின் ராஜாவாகிய யாபீனை இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுக்கு முன்பாகத் தாழ்த்தினார்.
So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the sons of Israel.
24 ௨௪ இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களின் கை கானானியர்களின் ராஜாவாகிய யாபீனை அழிக்கும்வரைக்கும் அவன்மேல் பெலத்துக்கொண்டேயிருந்தது.
And the hand of the sons of Israel prevailed more and more against Jabin the king of Canaan until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.
