யோபு 31

1 ௧ என் கண்களுடன் உடன்படிக்கைசெய்த நான் ஒரு கன்னிகையின்மேல் நினைவாக இருப்பதெப்படி?

I have made a covenant with my eyes; how then should I look with desire on a virgin?

2 ௨ அப்பொழுது உன்னதங்களிலிருந்து தேவன் அளிக்கும் பங்கும், உன்னதத்திலிருந்து சர்வவல்லமையுள்ள தேவன் கொடுக்கும் பங்கும் கிடைக்குமோ?

For what is the portion from God above, the inheritance from the Almighty on high?

3 ௩ மாறுபாடானவனுக்கு ஆபத்தும், அக்கிரமக்காரருக்கு தண்டனையுமல்லவோ கிடைக்கும்.

I used to think that calamity is for unrighteous people, and that disaster is for doers of wickedness.

4 ௪ அவர் என் வழிகளைப் பார்த்து, என் நடைகளையெல்லாம் கணக்கிடுகிறார் அல்லவோ?

Does not God see my ways and count all my steps?

5 ௫ நான் மாயையிலே நடந்தேனோ, என் கால் தவறுசெய்ய வேகமானதோ என்று,

If I have walked with falsehood, if my foot has hurried to deceit,

6 ௬ சரியான தராசிலே தேவன் என்னை நிறுத்து, என் உத்தமத்தை அறிவாராக.

let me be weighed in an even balance so that God will know my integrity.

7 ௭ என் நடைகள் வழியைவிட்டு விலகினதும், என் இருதயம் என் கண்களைப் பின்தொடர்ந்ததும், ஏதாகிலும் ஒரு குற்றம் என் கைகளில் ஒட்டிக்கொண்டதும் இருந்தால்,

If my step has turned aside from the way, if my heart has gone after my eyes, if any spot has stuck to my hands,

8 ௮ அப்பொழுது நான் விதைத்ததை வேறொருவன் சாப்பிடுவானாக; என் பயிர்கள் வேர் இல்லாமல் போகக்கடவது.

then let me sow, and let another eat, and let my crops be uprooted.

9 ௯ என் மனம் எந்தப் பெண்ணின்மேல் மயங்கி, அடுத்தவனுடைய வாசலை நான் எட்டிப் பார்த்திருந்தால்,

If my heart has been deceived by a woman, if I have lain in wait at my neighbor's door,

10 ௧0 அப்பொழுது என் மனைவி வேறொருவனுக்கு மாவரைப்பாளாக; வேறு மனிதர் அவள்மேல் சாய்வார்களாக.

then let my wife grind grain for another, and let others bow down on her.

11 ௧௧ அது தவறு, அது நியாயாதிபதிகளால் விசாரிக்கப்படும் குற்றமாமே.

For that would be a terrible crime; indeed, it would be a crime to be punished by judges.

12 ௧௨ அது பாதாளம்வரை எரிக்கும் நெருப்பாய் என் விளைச்சல்களையெல்லாம் அழிக்கும்.

For that is a fire that consumes as far as Abaddon, and it would burn all my harvest to the root.

13 ௧௩ என் வேலைக்காரனோ, என் வேலைக்காரியோ, என்னுடன் வழக்காடும்போது, அவர்கள் நியாயத்தை நான் அசட்டைசெய்திருந்தால்,

If I ignored the plea for justice from my male or female servant when they argued with me,

14 ௧௪ தேவன் எழும்பும்போது, நான் என்ன செய்வேன்; அவர் விசாரிக்கும்போது, நான் அவருக்கு திரும்ப என்ன பதில் சொல்லுவேன்.

what then would I do when God rises up to accuse me? When he comes to judge me, how would I answer him?

15 ௧௫ தாயின் கர்ப்பத்தில் என்னை உண்டாக்கியவர் அவனையும் உண்டாக்கினார் அல்லவோ? ஒரேவிதமான கர்ப்பத்தில் எங்களை உருவாக்கினார் அல்லவோ?

Did the one who made me in the womb not make them also? Did not the same one mold us all in the womb?

16 ௧௬ ஏழைகள் விரும்பியதை நான் கொடுக்காமலிருந்து, விதவையின் கண்ணீரினால் கண்களைப் பூத்துப்போகவைத்து,

If I have withheld poor people from their desire, or if I have caused the eyes of the widow to grow dim from crying,

17 ௧௭ தாய் தகப்பனில்லாத பிள்ளை என் ஆகாரத்தில் சாப்பிடாமல், நான் ஒருவனாய்ச் சாப்பிட்டதுண்டோ?

or if I have eaten my morsel alone and not allowed those without fathers to eat it also—

18 ௧௮ என் சிறுவயதுமுதல் அவனுடைய தகப்பனிடத்தில் வளர்வதுபோல என்னுடன் வளர்ந்தான்; நான் என் தாயின் கர்ப்பத்தில் பிறந்ததுமுதல் அப்படிப்பட்டவர்களை கைபிடித்து நடத்தினேன்.

because from my youth the orphan grew up with me as with a father, and I have guided his mother, a widow, from my own mother's womb.

19 ௧௯ ஒருவன் உடையில்லாததினால் மடிந்துபோகிறதையும், ஏழைக்கு அணிய ஆடையில்லாதிருக்கிறதையும் நான் கண்டபோது,

If I have seen anyone perish for lack of clothing, or if I have seen that a needy man had no clothing;

20 ௨0 அவன் என் ஆட்டுரோமக் கம்பளியினாலே அனல்கொண்டதினால், அவனுடைய இருதயம் என்னைப் புகழாதிருந்ததும்,

if his heart has not blessed me because he has not been warmed with the wool of my sheep,

21 ௨௧ ஒலிமுகவாசலில் எனக்குச் செல்வாக்கு உண்டென்று நான் கண்டு, திக்கற்றவனுக்கு விரோதமாக என் கையை நீட்டினதும் உண்டானால்,

if I have lifted up my hand against fatherless people because I saw my support in the city gate, then bring charges against me!

22 ௨௨ என் கை தோள்பட்டையிலிருந்து விலகி, என் கையின் எலும்பு முறிந்துபோவதாக.

If I have done these things, then let my shoulder fall from the shoulder blade, and let my arm be broken from its joint.

23 ௨௩ தேவன் தண்டிப்பார் என்றும், அவருடைய மகிமைக்கு முன் நிற்கமுடியாது என்றும், எனக்குப் பயங்கரமாயிருந்தது.

For I dreaded destruction from God; because of his majesty, I was not able to do those things.

24 ௨௪ நான் பொன்னின்மேல் என் நம்பிக்கையை வைத்து, தங்கத்தைப்பார்த்து: நீ என் ஆதரவு என்று நான் சொன்னதும்,

If I have made gold my hope, and if I have said to fine gold, 'You are what I am confident in';

25 ௨௫ என் செல்வம் அதிகமென்றும், என் கைக்கு அதிகமாக கிடைத்ததென்றும் நான் மகிழ்ந்ததும்,

if I have rejoiced because my wealth was great, because my hand had gotten many possessions, then bring charges against me!

26 ௨௬ சூரியன் பிரகாசிக்கும்போதும், அல்லது சந்திரன் மகிமையாகச் செல்லும்போதும், நான் அதை நோக்கி:

If I have seen the sun when it shone, or the moon walking in its brightness,

27 ௨௭ என் மனம் இரகசியமாக மயங்கி, என் வாய் என் கையை முத்தம் செய்ததுண்டானால்,

and if my heart has been secretly attracted, so that my mouth has kissed my hand in worship of them—

28 ௨௮ இதுவும் நியாயாதிபதிகளால் விசாரிக்கப்படத்தக்க அக்கிரமமாயிருக்கும்; அதினால் உன்னதத்திலிருக்கிற தேவனை மறுதலிப்பேனே.

this also would be a crime to be punished by judges, for I would have denied the God who is above.

29 ௨௯ என் பகைவனுடைய ஆபத்திலே நான் மகிழ்ந்து, பொல்லாப்பு அவனுக்கு நடந்தபோது மகிழ்ந்திருந்தேனோ?

If I have rejoiced at the destruction of anyone who hated me or congratulated myself when disaster overtook him, then bring charges against me!

30 ௩0 அவன் உயிருக்குச் சாபத்தைக் கொடுக்க விரும்பி, வாயினால் பாவம் செய்ய நான் இடங்கொடுக்கவில்லை.

Indeed, I have not even allowed my mouth to sin by asking for his life with a curse.

31 ௩௧ அவனுடைய இனத்தார்களில் திருப்தியாகாதவனைக் காண்பிப்பவன் யாரென்று என் கூடாரத்தின் மனிதர் சொல்லமாட்டார்களோ?

If the men of my tent have never said, 'Who can find one who has not been filled with Job's food?'

32 ௩௨ அந்நியர் வீதியிலே இரவு தங்கினதில்லை; வழிப்போக்கனுக்கு என் வாசல்களைத் திறந்தேன்.

(even the foreigner has never had to stay in the city square, because I have always opened my doors to the traveler), and if that is not so, then bring charges against me!

33 ௩௩ நான் ஆதாமைப்போல என் மீறுதல்களை மூடி, என் அக்கிரமத்தை என் மடியிலே ஒளித்துவைத்தேனோ?

If, like mankind, I have hidden my sins by hiding my guilt inside my tunic

34 ௩௪ மிகுதியான என் மக்கள் கூட்டத்திற்கு நான் பயந்ததினாலாவது, மக்கள் செய்யும் இகழ்ச்சி என்னை அதிர்ச்சியடையச் செய்ததினாலாவது, நான் பேசாதிருந்து, வாசற்படியைவிட்டுப் புறப்படாதிருந்தேனோ?

(because I feared the great multitude, because the contempt of families terrified me, so that I kept silent and would not go outside), then bring charges against me!

35 ௩௫ ஆ, என் வழக்கைக் கேட்கிறவன் ஒருவன் இருந்தால் நலமாயிருக்கும்; இதோ, சர்வவல்லவர் எனக்கு பதில் அருளிச்செய்யவும், என் எதிராளி தன் வழக்கை எழுதிக்கொடுக்கவும் எனக்கு விருப்பமுண்டு.

Oh, if only I had someone to hear me! See, here is my signature; let the Almighty answer me! If only I had the indictment that my opponent has written!

36 ௩௬ அதை நான் என் தோளின்மேல் வைத்து, எனக்குக் கிரீடமாக அணிந்துகொள்வேனே.

Surely I would carry it openly on my shoulder; I would put it on like a crown.

37 ௩௭ அவனுக்கு நான் என் நடைகளைத் தொகை தொகையாகக் காண்பித்து, ஒரு பிரபுவைப்போல அவனிடத்தில் போவேன்.

I would declare to him an accounting for my steps; as a confident prince I would go up to him.

38 ௩௮ எனக்கு விரோதமாக என் சொந்த பூமி கூப்பிடுகிறதும், அதின் வரப்புகள்கூட அழுகிறதும்,

If my land ever cries out against me, and its furrows weep together,

39 ௩௯ கூலிகொடுக்காமல் நான் அதின் பலனைச் சாப்பிட்டு, பயிரிட்டவர்களின் ஆத்துமாவை உபத்திரவப்படுத்தினதும் உண்டானால்,

if I have eaten its harvest without paying for it or have caused its owners to lose their lives,

40 ௪0 அதில் கோதுமைக்குப் பதிலாக முள்ளும், வாற்கோதுமைக்குப் பதிலாகக் களையும் முளைக்கட்டும்” என்றான். யோபின் வார்த்தைகள் முடிந்தது.

then let thorns grow instead of wheat and weeds instead of barley.” The words of Job are finished.
