எரேமியா 2
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
2 ௨ நீ போய், எருசலேமில் உள்ளவர்கள் கேட்கும்படிக் கூப்பிட்டுச் சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்: விதைக்கப்படாத தேசமாகிய வனாந்திரத்தில் நீ என்னைப் பின்பற்றிவந்த உன் இளவயதின் பக்தியையும், நீ வாழ்க்கைப்பட்டபோது உனக்கிருந்த நேசத்தையும் நினைத்திருக்கிறேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
“Go, and cry out to the ears of Jerusalem, saying: Thus says the Lord: I have remembered you, taking pity on your youth and on the charity of your betrothal, when you followed me into the desert, into a land which is not sown.
3 ௩ இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் யெகோவாவுக்குப் பரிசுத்தமும், அவருடைய விளைவின் முதற்பலனுமாயிருந்தது; அதைப் பட்சித்த அனைவரும் குற்றவாளிகளானார்கள்; பொல்லாப்பு அவர்கள்மேல் வந்ததென்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
Israel is holy to the Lord, the first of his fruits. All those who devour him commit an offense. Evils will overwhelm them, says the Lord.”
4 ௪ யாக்கோபின் குடும்பத்தாரே, இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தின் வம்சங்களே, நீங்கள் எல்லோரும் யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தையைக் கேளுங்கள்.
Listen to the word of the Lord, O house of Jacob, and all you families of the house of Israel.
5 ௫ யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்: எங்களை எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து வரச்செய்தவரும், அவாந்தரவெளியும், பள்ளங்களுமுள்ள தேசமும், வறட்சியும், மரண இருளுமுள்ள தேசமும், ஒருவனும் கடந்து செல்லாமலும் ஒரு மனிதனும் குடியிராமலும் இருக்கிற தேசமுமான வனாந்திரத்தில் எங்களை நடத்தினவருமாகிய யெகோவா எங்கேயென்று உங்கள் முற்பிதாக்கள் கேளாமல்,
Thus says the Lord: “What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they would draw far away from me, and would walk after emptiness, and would become empty?
6 ௬ என்னைவிட்டுப் பிரிந்து, வீணான விக்கிரங்களைப் பின்பற்றி, வீணராகப் போகிறதற்கு என்னிடத்தில் என்ன அநியாயத்தைக் கண்டார்கள்?
And they have not said: ‘Where is the Lord, who caused us to ascend from the land of Egypt; who led us through the desert, through an uninhabited and impassable land, through a land of drought and of the image of death, through a land in which no one walked and in which no man lived?’
7 ௭ செழிப்பான தேசத்தின் கனியையும் நன்மையையும் சாப்பிடுவதற்கு நான் உங்களை அவ்விடத்திற்கு அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்தேன்; ஆனாலும் நீங்கள் அதற்குள் நுழைந்தபோது, என் தேசத்தைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தி, என் சுதந்திரத்தை அருவருப்பாக்கினீர்கள்.
And I led you into the land of Carmel, so that you would eat from its fruit and from its excellence. And having entered it, you defiled my land, and you turned my inheritance into an abomination.
8 ௮ யெகோவா எங்கேயென்று ஆசாரியர்கள் சொல்லாமலும், வேதத்தைப் போதிக்கிறவர்கள் என்னை அறியாமலுமிருந்து, மேய்ப்பர்கள் எனக்குத் துரோகம்செய்தார்கள்; தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் பாகாலைக்கொண்டு தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்லி, வீணானவைகளைப் பின்பற்றினார்கள்.
The priests have not said: ‘Where is the Lord?’ And those who held the law did not know me. And the pastors betrayed me. And the prophets prophesied in Baal and followed idols.
9 ௯ ஆதலால் இன்னும் நான் உங்களுடன் வழக்காடுவேன், உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளின் பிள்ளைகளுடனும் வழக்காடுவேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
Because of this, I will still contend in judgment against you, says the Lord, and I will dispute with your sons.
10 ௧0 நீங்கள் கித்தீமின் தீவுகள்வரை சென்று பார்த்து, கேதாருக்கு ஆள் அனுப்பி நன்றாய் விசாரித்து, இப்படிப்பட்ட காரியம் உண்டோ என்றும்,
Cross over to the isles of Kittim, and gaze. And send to Kedar, and consider diligently. And see if anything like this has ever been done.
11 ௧௧ எந்த மக்களாவது தெய்வங்களல்லாத தங்கள் தெய்வங்களை மாற்றினது உண்டோ என்றும் பாருங்கள்; என் மக்களோ வீணானவைகளுக்காகத் தங்கள் மகிமையை மாற்றினார்கள்.
See if a nation has ever changed their gods, though certainly those are not gods. Yet truly, my people have exchanged their glory for an idol.
12 ௧௨ வானங்களே, இதினிமித்தம் பிரமித்துக் கொந்தளித்து, மிகவும் திடுக்கிடுங்கள் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
Be astonished at this, O heavens, and be utterly desolate, O gates of heaven, says the Lord.
13 ௧௩ என் மக்கள் இரண்டு தீமைகளைச் செய்தார்கள்; ஜீவத்தண்ணீர் ஊற்றாகிய என்னை விட்டுவிட்டார்கள்; தண்ணீர் நிற்காத தொட்டிகளாகிய வெடிப்புள்ள தொட்டிகளைத் தங்களுக்கு வெட்டிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
For my people have done two evils. They have forsaken me, the Fountain of living water, and they have dug for themselves cisterns, broken cisterns that are unable to hold water.
Is Israel a servant, or one born into slavery? Then why has he become a prey?
15 ௧௫ பாலசிங்கங்கள் அவன்மேல் கெர்ச்சித்து, முழங்கி, அவன் தேசத்தைப் பாழாக்கிவிட்டன; அவன் பட்டணங்கள் குடியிராமல் சுட்டெரிக்கப்பட்டன.
The lions have roared over him, and they have uttered their voice. They have set his land in solitude; his cities have been burned up, and there is no one who lives in them.
Likewise, the sons of Memphis and of Tahpanhes have defiled you, even to the top of the head.
17 ௧௭ உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உன்னை வழியில் நடத்திக்கொண்டு போகுங்காலத்தில், நீ அவரை விட்டுப்போகிறதினால் அல்லவோ இதை உனக்கு சம்பவிக்கச்செய்தாய்?
Has this not been done to you because you abandoned the Lord your God, in that time when he was leading you by the way?
18 ௧௮ இப்போதும் நைல் நதியின்தண்ணீரைக் குடிப்பதற்கு எகிப்திற்குப் போகிறதினால் உனக்குப் பலன் என்ன? ஐப்பிராத்து நதியின் தண்ணீரைக் குடிப்பதற்கு அசீரியாவுக்குப் போகிறதினால் உனக்குப் பலன் என்ன?
And now what do you want from the way of Egypt, but to drink their turbid water? And what do you want from the way of the Assyrians, but to drink the water of their river?
19 ௧௯ உன் தீமை உன்னைத் தண்டிக்கும், உன் மாறுபாடுகள் உன்னைக் கண்டிக்கும்; நீ உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை விடுகிறதும், என்னைப்பற்றும் பயம் உன்னிடத்தில் இல்லாமலிருக்கிறதும், எத்தனை பொல்லாப்பும் கசப்புமான காரியம் என்று உணர்ந்துகொள் என்று சேனைகளின் கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்.
Your own malice will reprove you, and your own apostasy will rebuke you! But know and perceive this: it is an evil and bitter thing for you to forsake the Lord your God, and to be without my fear within you, says the Lord, the God of hosts.
20 ௨0 பூர்வகாலந்துவக்கி நான் உன் நுகத்தடியை முறித்து, உன் கட்டுகளை அறுத்தேன்; நான் அடிமைப்படுவதில்லையென்று நீயும் சொன்னாயே; ஆகிலும், உயரமான எல்லா மேட்டின்மேலும், பச்சையான எல்லா மரத்தின்கீழும் நீ வேசியாகத் திரிகிறாய்.
From ancient times, you have broken my yoke; you have torn apart my bonds, and you have said, ‘I will not serve.’ For on every high hill, and under every leafy tree, you have been debased, O harlot.
21 ௨௧ நான் உன்னை முற்றிலும் நற்கனிதரும் உயர்குலத் திராட்சைச்செடியாக நாட்டினேன்; நீ எனக்குக் காட்டுத்திராட்சைச்செடியின் ஆகாத கொடிகளாய் மாறிப்போனது என்ன?
Yet I planted you as an elect vineyard, with only true seed. Then how have you been turned away from me, toward that which is depraved, O strange vineyard?
22 ௨௨ நீ உன்னை உவர்மண்ணினால் கழுவி, அதிக சவுக்காரத்தைப் பயன்படுத்தினாலும், உன் அக்கிரமத்தின் கறைகள் எனக்கு முன்பாக இருக்குமென்று யெகோவாவாகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்.
Even if you wash yourself with soap, and increase your use of herbal soaps, you are still stained by your iniquity in my sight, says the Lord God.
23 ௨௩ நான் தீட்டுப்படவில்லை; நான் பாகால்களைப் பின்பற்றவில்லை என்று நீ பொய்ச் சொல்லுகிறாய்? பள்ளத்தாக்கில் நீ நடக்கிற வழிமுறைகளைப் பார்; நீ செய்த பாவத்தை உணர்ந்துகொள்; ஆண் ஒட்டகத்தை தேடி அடைய தாறுமாறாய் ஓடுகிற வேகமான பெண் ஒட்டகம் நீ.
How can you say: ‘I have not been polluted. I have not walked after Baal?’ Consider your ways in the steep valley. Acknowledge what you have done, so that you may be like a swift runner, following his course.
24 ௨௪ வனாந்திரத்தில் பழகினதும், தன் இச்சையின் மதவெறியில் காற்றை உட்கொள்ளுகிறதுமான காட்டுக்கழுதை நீ; அதின் ஆவலை நிறுத்தி, அதைத் திருப்புகிறவன் யார்? அதைத் தேடுகிறவர்கள் ஒருவரும் வருத்தப்படவேண்டியதில்லை; அதின் மாசத்தில் அதைக் கண்டுபிடிப்பார்கள்.
A wild donkey accustomed to solitude, out of the desire in his soul, caught the scent of his lover. Now nothing will turn him away from her. All those who seek her will not cease. But they will find her in her menstruation.
25 ௨௫ உன் கால் வெறுங்காலாகாதபடிக்கும், உன் தொண்டை வறட்சியடையாதபடிக்கும் அடக்கிக்கொள் என்றால், நீ: அது கூடாதகாரியம்; நான் அப்படிச் செய்யமாட்டேன்; அந்நியரை நேசிக்கிறேன்; அவர்கள் பிறகே போவேன் என்கிறாய்.
You should keep your foot from being naked, and your throat from being thirsty. But you have said: ‘I have lost hope. I will not do it. For certainly, I have loved strangers, and I will walk after them.’
26 ௨௬ திருடன் அகப்படுகிறபோது, எப்படி வெட்கப்படுகிறானோ, அப்படியே இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சத்தார் வெட்கப்படுவார்கள்; மரகட்டையைப் பார்த்து, நீ என் தகப்பன் என்றும்; கல்லைப்பார்த்து, நீ என்னைப் பெற்றெடுத்தாய் என்றும் சொல்லுகிற அவர்களும், அவர்கள் ராஜாக்களும், அவர்கள் பிரபுக்களும், அவர்கள் ஆசாரியர்களும், அவர்கள் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும் வெட்கப்படுவார்கள்.
In the same way that a thief is confounded when he has been apprehended, so the house of Israel has been confounded, they and their kings, their leaders and priests and prophets.
27 ௨௭ அவர்கள் தங்கள் முகத்தையல்ல, தங்கள் முதுகை எனக்குக் காட்டினார்கள்; தங்கள் ஆபத்துக்காலத்திலோ எழுந்து எங்களை காப்பாற்றும் என்கிறார்கள்.
For they say to a piece of wood, ‘You are my father,’ and to a stone, ‘You have conceived me.’ They have turned their back to me, and not their face. But in the time of their affliction, they will say: ‘Rise up and deliver us.’
28 ௨௮ நீ உனக்கு உண்டாக்கின தெய்வங்கள் எங்கே? உன் ஆபத்துக்காலத்தில் காப்பாற்ற முடியுமானால் அவைகள் எழும்பட்டும்; யூதாவே, உன் பட்டணங்களின் எண்ணிக்கையும், உன் தெய்வங்களின் எண்ணிக்கையும் சரி.
Where are your gods that you made for yourselves? Let them rise up and deliver you in the time of your affliction. For certainly, your gods were like the number of your cities, O Judah.
29 ௨௯ என்னுடன் நீங்கள் வழக்காடவேண்டும்? நீங்கள் அனைவரும் எனக்கு விரோதமாய்த் துரோகம் செய்தீர்கள் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
Why do you want to contend against me in judgment? You have all forsaken me, says the Lord.
30 ௩0 நான் உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளை அடித்தது விருதா; சிட்சையை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளாமற்போனார்கள்; அழிக்கிற சிங்கத்தைப்போல உங்கள் பட்டயம் உங்கள் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளைப் பட்சித்தது.
I have struck your children to no effect; they have not accepted discipline. Your own sword has devoured your prophets. Your generation is like a raging lion.
31 ௩௧ சந்ததியாரே, நீங்கள் யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தையைச் சிந்தித்துப்பாருங்கள்: நான் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு வனாந்திரமும், காரிருளான பூமியுமாக இருந்தேனோ? பின் ஏன் என் மக்கள்; நாங்களே எஜமான்கள், இனி உம்மிடத்தில் நாங்கள் வருவதில்லையென்று சொல்லுகிறார்கள்.
Consider the word of the Lord. Have I become like a wilderness to Israel, or like a land late to bear fruit? Then why have my people said, ‘We are withdrawing; we will no longer approach you’?
32 ௩௨ ஒரு பெண் தன் நகைகளையும், ஒரு மணப்பெண் தன் திருமண ஆடைகளையும் மறப்பாளோ? என் மக்களோ அநேக வருடங்களாக என்னை மறந்துவிட்டார்கள்.
Can a virgin forget her ornament, or a bride the covering across her breast? Yet truly, my people have forgotten me, for innumerable days.
33 ௩௩ நேசத்தைத் தேடுவதற்கு நீ உன் வழிகளை நயப்படுத்துகிறதென்ன? இவ்விதமாய் நீ பொல்லாத பெண்களுக்கும் உன் வழிகளைக் கற்றுக்கொடுத்தாய்.
Why are you striving to claim that your way is good, as if to seek my love, when all the while you are also displaying your malice by your own way,
34 ௩௪ உன் ஆடைஓரங்களிலும் குற்றமில்லாத ஏழை ஆத்துமாக்களின் இரத்தம் காணப்படுகிறது; அதைத் தோண்டித் தேடுகிறதினால் அல்ல, அது எல்லாவற்றின்மேலும் வெளிப்படியாக இருக்கிறதினால் அதைக் கண்டுபிடித்தேன்.
and in your armpits there is found the blood of poor and innocent souls? I have found them, not in ditches, but everywhere that I mentioned previously.
35 ௩௫ ஆகிலும்: குற்றமில்லாதிருக்கிறேன் என்றும், அவருடைய கோபம் என்னைவிட்டு நீங்கிவிட்டது என்றும் சொல்லுகிறாய்; இதோ, நான் பாவஞ்செய்யவில்லையென்று நீ சொல்லுகிறதினால் நான் உன்னுடன் வழக்காடுவேன்.
And you have said: ‘I am innocent and without sin. And because of this, let your fury be turned away from me.’ Behold, I will contend with you in judgment, because you have said: ‘I have not sinned.’
36 ௩௬ நீ உன் வழியை மாற்றிமாற்றி இவ்வளவாய் விலகிப்போகிறது என்ன? நீ அசீரியாவினால் வெட்கப்பட்டதுபோல எகிப்தினாலும் வெட்கப்படுவாய்.
How exceedingly vile you have become, repeating your ways again and again! And so, you will be ashamed of Egypt, just as you were ashamed of Assur.
37 ௩௭ நீ உன் கைகளை உன் தலையின்மேல் வைத்துக்கொண்டு இவ்விடத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போவாய்; ஏனென்றால், உன் நம்பிக்கைகளைக் யெகோவா வெறுத்திருக்கிறார்; அவைகளால் உனக்குக் காரியம் வாய்க்காது.
For you will also depart from that place, and your hand will be upon your head. For the Lord has crushed your confidence, and you will have nothing prosperous by it.”
