எரேமியா 10
Hear ye the word of the Lord, which he has spoken to you, O house of Israel.
2 ௨ அன்னியமக்களுடைய வழிமுறைகளைக் கற்றுக்கொள்ளாதிருங்கள்; வானத்தின் அடையாளங்களால் அந்நியமக்கள் கலங்குகிறார்களே என்று சொல்லி, நீங்கள் அவைகளால் கலங்காதிருங்கள்.
Thus saith the Lord, Learn ye not the ways of the heathen, and be not alarmed at the signs of the sky; for they are alarmed at them, [falling] on their faces.
3 ௩ மக்களின் வழிபாடுகள் வீணாயிருக்கிறது; காட்டில் ஒரு மரத்தை வெட்டுகிறார்கள்; அது தச்சன் கையாளுகிற உளியினால் செதுக்கப்படும்.
For the customs of the nations are vain; it is a tree cut out of the forest, the work of the carpenter, or a molten image.
4 ௪ வெள்ளியினாலும் பொன்னினாலும் அதை அலங்கரித்து, அது அசையாதபடி அதை ஆணிகளாலும் சுத்திகளாலும் உறுதியாக்குகிறார்கள்.
[They are] beautified with silver and gold, they fix them with hammers and nails;
5 ௫ அவைகள் பனையைப் போல உயரமாக நிற்கிறது, அவைகள் பேசமாட்டாதவைகள், அவைகள் நடக்காது. எனவே சுமக்கப்படவேண்டும்; அவைகளுக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டாம்; அவைகள் தீமை செய்யமுடியாது, நன்மை செய்யவும் அவைகளுக்கு பெலனில்லையென்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
they will set them up that they may not move; it is wrought silver, they will not walk, it is forged silver They must certainly be borne, for they cannot ride [of themselves]. Fear them not; for they cannot do any evil, and there is no good in them.
7 ௭ தேசங்களின் ராஜாவே, உமக்குப் பயப்படாதிருப்பவன் யார்? தேவரீர் ஒருவருக்கே பயப்படவேண்டியது; மக்களுடைய எல்லா ஞானிகளிலும், அவர்களுடைய எல்லா தேசத்திலும் உமக்கு ஒப்பானவன் இல்லை.
9 ௯ தகடாக்கப்பட்ட வெள்ளி தர்ஷீசிலும், பொன் ஊப்பாசிலுமிருந்து கொண்டுவரப்பட்டு, அவைகள் தொழிலாளியினாலும், தட்டான் கைகளினாலும் செய்யப்படுகிறது; இளநீலமும் இரத்தாம்பரமும் அவைகளின் உடை; அவைகளெல்லாம் தொழிலாளிகளின் கைவேலையாயிருக்கிறது.
10 ௧0 யெகோவாவோ மெய்யான தெய்வம்; அவர் ஜீவனுள்ள தேவன், நித்திய ராஜா; அவருடைய கோபத்தினால் பூமி அதிரும்; அவருடைய கடுங்கோபத்தை மக்கள் சகிக்கமாட்டார்கள்.
11 ௧௧ வானத்தையும் பூமியையும் உண்டாக்காத தெய்வங்கள், பூமியிலும் இந்த வானத்தின்கீழும் இராமல் அழிந்துபோகும் என்பதை அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள்.
Thus shall ye say to them, Let the gods which have not made heaven and earth perish from off the earth, and from under this sky.
12 ௧௨ அவரே பூமியைத் தம்முடைய வல்லமையினால் உண்டாக்கி, பூமியின் நிலப்பரப்பை தம்முடைய ஞானத்தினால் படைத்து, வானத்தைத் தம்முடைய அறிவினால் விரித்தார்.
It is the Lord that made the earth by his strength, who set up the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding stretched out the sky,
13 ௧௩ அவர் சத்தமிடும்போது வானத்தில் திரளான தண்ணீர் உண்டாகிறது; அவர் பூமியின் எல்லையிலிருந்து மேகங்களை எழும்பச்செய்து, மழையுடனே மின்னல்களை உண்டாக்கி, காற்றைத் தமது கிடங்குகளிலிருந்து புறப்படச்செய்கிறார்.
and set abundance of waters in the sky, and brought up clouds from the ends of the earth; he made lightnings for the rain, and brought forth light out of his treasures.
14 ௧௪ மனிதர் அனைவரும் அறிவில்லாமல் மிருககுணமுள்ளவர்களானார்கள்; தட்டார் அனைவரும் வார்ப்பித்த உருவங்களால் வெட்கிப்போகிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் வார்ப்பித்த விக்கிரகம் பொய்யே, அவைகளில் ஆவி இல்லை.
Every man is deprived of knowledge, every goldsmith is confounded because of his graven images; for he has cast false gods, there is no breath in them.
They are vain works, wrought in mockery; in the time of their visitation they shall perish.
16 ௧௬ யாக்கோபின் பங்காயிருக்கிறவர் அவைகளைப்போல் அல்ல, அவர் சர்வத்தையும் உருவாக்கினவர்; இஸ்ரவேல் அவருடைய சொந்தமான கோத்திரம்; சேனைகளின் யெகோவா என்பது அவருடைய பெயர்.
Such is not the portion of Jacob; for he that formed all things, he is his inheritance; the Lord is his name.
He has gathered thy substance from without the lodged in choice [vessels].
18 ௧௮ இதோ, நான் இந்த முறை தேசத்தின் குடிமக்களைக் கவண்கொண்டெறிந்து, அவர்கள் கண்டு உணரும்படி அவர்களுக்கு நெருக்கமுண்டாக்குவேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I [will] overthrow the inhabitants of this land with affliction, that thy plague may be discovered.
19 ௧௯ ஐயோ, நான் நொறுக்கப்பட்டேன்; என் காயம் பெரிதாயிருக்கிறது; ஆனாலும் இது நான் சகிக்கவேண்டிய என் நோய் என்று நான் சொல்லுவேன்.
Alas for thy ruin! thy plague is grievous: and I said, Surely this is thy wound, and it has overtaken thee.
20 ௨0 என் கூடாரம் அழிந்துபோனது, என் கயிறுகளெல்லாம் அறுந்துபோனது; என் பிள்ளைகள் என்னை விட்டுப்போய்விட்டார்கள்; அவர்களில் ஒருவனுமில்லை; இனி என் கூடாரத்தை விரித்து என் திரைகளைத் தூக்கிக்கட்டுவாரில்லை.
Thy tabernacle is in a ruinous state, it has perished; and all thy curtains have been torn asunder: my children and my cattle are no more: there is no more any place for my tabernacle, [nor] place for my curtains.
21 ௨௧ மேய்ப்பர்கள் மிருககுணமுள்ளவர்களாகி, யெகோவாவை தேடாமல் போனார்கள்; ஆகையால், அவர்கள் காரியம் வாய்க்காமற்போய், அவர்கள் மந்தையெல்லாம் சிதறடிக்கப்பட்டது.
For the shepherds have become foolish, and have not sought the Lord; therefore the whole pasture has failed, and [the sheep] have been scattered.
22 ௨௨ இதோ, யூதாவின் பட்டணங்களை அழித்து வலுசர்ப்பங்களின் தங்கும் இடமாக்கிப்போடும் செய்தியின் சத்தமும், வடதேசத்திலிருந்து பெரிய கொந்தளிப்பும் வருகிறது.
Behold, there comes a sound of a noise, and a great earthquake from the land of the north, to make the cities of Juda a desolation, and a resting-place for ostriches.
23 ௨௩ யெகோவாவே, மனிதனுடைய வழி அவனால் ஆகிறதல்லவென்றும், தன் நடைகளை நடத்துவது நடக்கிறவனால் ஆகிறதல்லவென்றும் அறிவேன்.
I know, O Lord, that man's way is not his own; neither shall a man go, and direct his going.
24 ௨௪ யெகோவாவே, என்னைத் தண்டியும்; ஆனாலும் நான் அவமானப்படாமலிருக்க உம்முடைய கோபத்தினால் அல்ல, குறைவாகத் தண்டியும்.
Chasten us, O Lord, but with judgment; and not in wrath, lest thou make us few.
25 ௨௫ உம்மை அறியாத தேசங்களின்மேலும், உமது பெயரைத் தொழுதுகொள்ளாத வம்சங்களின்மேலும், உம்முடைய கடுங்கோபத்தை ஊற்றிவிடும்; அவர்கள் யாக்கோபை அழித்து, அவனை விழுங்கி, அவனை நிர்மூலமாக்கி, அவன் குடியிருப்புகளை அழித்தார்களே.
Pour out thy wrath upon the nations that have not known thee, and upon the families that have not called upon thy name: for they have devoured Jacob, and consumed him, and have made his pasture desolate.
