ஆதியாகமம் 33
1 ௧ யாக்கோபு தன் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்து, இதோ, ஏசாவும் அவனோடுகூட நானூறு மனிதர்களும் வருகிறதைக் கண்டு, பிள்ளைகளை லேயாளிடத்திலும் ராகேலிடத்திலும் இரண்டு மறுமனையாட்டிகளிடத்திலும் தனிக்குழுக்களாகப் பிரித்துவைத்து,
Iacob lyfte vp his eyes and sawe hys brother Esau come and with him. iiij. hundred men. And he deuyded the childern vnto Lea and vnto Rahel and vnto ye ij. maydens.
2 ௨ மறுமனையாட்டிகளையும் அவர்களுடைய பிள்ளைகளையும் முதலிலும், லேயாளையும் அவளுடைய பிள்ளைகளையும் மத்தியிலும், ராகேலையும் யோசேப்பையும் கடைசியிலும் நிறுத்தி:
And he put the maydens ad their childern formest ad Lea and hir childern after and Rahel ad Ioseph hindermost.
3 ௩ தான் அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக நடந்து போய், ஏழுமுறை தரைவரைக்கும் குனிந்து வணங்கி, தன் சகோதரன் அருகில் போனான்.
And he went before them and fell on the grownde, vij. tymes vntill he came vnto his brother.
4 ௪ அப்பொழுது ஏசா எதிர்கொண்டு ஓடிவந்து, அவனைத் தழுவி, அவனுடைய கழுத்தைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டு முத்தம்செய்தான்; இருவரும் அழுதார்கள்.
Esau ranne agaynst him and enbraced hym and fell on his necke and kyssed him and they wepte.
5 ௫ அவன் தன் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்து, பெண்களையும் பிள்ளைகளையும் கண்டு: “உன்னோடிருக்கிற இவர்கள் யார்?” என்றான். அதற்கு அவன்: “தேவன் உமது அடியானுக்கு அருளின பிள்ளைகள்” என்றான்.
And he lifte vp his eyes and sawe the wyves and their childern and sayde: what are these which thou there hast? And he sayde: they are the childern which God hath geuen thy seruaunte.
Than came the maydens forth ad dyd their obaysaunce.
7 ௭ லேயாளும் அவளுடைய பிள்ளைகளும் சேர்ந்துவந்து வணங்கினார்கள்; பின்பு யோசேப்பும் ராகேலும் சேர்ந்துவந்து வணங்கினார்கள்.
Lea also and hir childern came and dyd their obaysaunce. And last of all came Ioseph and Rahel and dyd their obaysaunce.
8 ௮ அப்பொழுது ஏசா: “எனக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுவந்த அந்த மந்தையெல்லாம் எதற்கு என்றான். அதற்கு யாக்கோபு: “என் ஆண்டவனுடைய கண்களில் எனக்கு தயவு கிடைப்பதற்காக” என்றான்.
And he sayde: what meanyst thou with all ye drooues which I mett. And he answered: to fynde grace in the syghte of my lorde.
And Esau sayde: I haue ynough my brother kepe that thou hast vnto thy silf.
10 ௧0 அதற்கு யாக்கோபு: “அப்படி அல்ல, உம்முடைய கண்களில் எனக்குத் தயவு கிடைத்ததேயானால், என் வெகுமதியை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளும்; நீர் என்மேல் பிரியமானீர், நான் உம்முடைய முகத்தைக் கண்டது தேவனுடைய முகத்தைக் கண்டதுபோல இருக்கிறது.
Iacob answered: oh nay but yf I haue founde grace in thy syghte receaue my preaset of my hade: for I haue sene thy face as though I had sene ye face of God: wherfore receaue me to grace
11 ௧௧ தேவன் எனக்கு அநுக்கிரகம் செய்திருக்கிறார்; வேண்டியதெல்லாம் எனக்கு உண்டு; ஆகையால் உமக்குக் கொண்டுவரப்பட்ட என் காணிக்கையை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளும்” என்று சொல்லி, அவனை வருந்திக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டான்; அப்பொழுது அவன் அதை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டான்.
and take my blessynge that I haue brought the for God hath geuen it me frely. And I haue ynough of all thynges. And so he compelled him to take it.
And he sayde: let us take oure iourney and goo and I will goo in thy copany.
13 ௧௩ அதற்கு யாக்கோபு: “பிள்ளைகள் இளவயதுள்ளவர்கள் என்றும், பால்கொடுக்கும் ஆடுமாடுகள் என்னிடத்தில் இருக்கிறது என்றும் என் ஆண்டவனுக்குத் தெரியும்; அவைகளை ஒரு நாளாவது வேகமாக ஓட்டினால், மந்தையெல்லாம் இறந்துபோகும்.
And he sayde vnto him: my lorde knoweth that I haue tendre childern ewes and kyne with yonge vnder myne hande which yf men shulde ouerdryue but euen one daye the hole flocke wolde dye.
14 ௧௪ என் ஆண்டவனாகிய நீர் உமது அடியானுக்கு முன்னே போம்; நான் சேயீருக்கு என் ஆண்டவனிடத்திற்கு வரும்வரைக்கும், எனக்குமுன் நடக்கிற மந்தைகளின் நடைக்கும் பிள்ளைகளின் நடைக்கும் ஏற்றபடி, மெதுவாக அவைகளை நடத்திக்கொண்டு வருகிறேன்” என்றான்.
Let my lorde therfore goo before his servaunte and I will dryue fayre and softly accordynge as the catell that goth before me and the childern be able to endure: vntill I come to mi lorde vnto Seir.
15 ௧௫ அப்பொழுது ஏசா: “என்னிடத்திலிருக்கிற மனிதர்களில் சிலரை நான் உன்னிடத்தில் நிறுத்திவிட்டுப் போகட்டுமா என்றான். அதற்கு அவன்: “அது எதற்கு, என் ஆண்டவனுடைய கண்களில் எனக்கு தயவுகிடைத்தால் மாத்திரம் போதும்” என்றான்.
And Esau sayde: let me yet leaue some of my folke with the. And he sayde: what neadeth it? let me fynde grace in the syghte of my lorde
So Esau went his waye agayne yt same daye vnto Seir.
17 ௧௭ யாக்கோபு சுக்கோத்திற்குப் பயணம்செய்து, தனக்கு ஒரு வீடு கட்டி, தன் மிருகஜீவன்களுக்குக் கூடாரங்களைப் போட்டான்; அதனால் அந்த இடத்திற்கு சுக்கோத் என்று பெயரிட்டான்.
And Iacob toke his iourney toward Sucoth and bylt him an house and made boothes for his catell: wherof the name of the place is called Sucoth.
18 ௧௮ யாக்கோபு பதான் அராமிலிருந்து வந்தபின் கானான்தேசத்திலிருக்கிற சாலேம் என்னும் சீகேமுடைய பட்டணத்திற்கு அருகே சென்று கூடாரம்போட்டான்.
And Iacob went to Salem to ye cytie of Sichem in the lande of Canaa after that he was come from Mesopotamia and pitched before the cyte
19 ௧௯ தான் கூடாரம்போட்ட நிலத்தைச் சீகேமின் தகப்பனாகிய ஏமோரின் மகன்களிடம் 100 வெள்ளிக்காசுக்கு வாங்கி,
and bought a parcell of ground where he pitched his tent of the childern of Hemor Sichems father for an hundred lambes.
And he made there an aulter and there called vpon the myghtie God of Israell.
