எசேக்கியேல் 15
Then the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
2 ௨ மனிதகுமாரனே, காட்டிலிருக்கிற செடிகளுக்குள் மற்ற எல்லாச் செடிகொடிகளைவிட திராட்சைச்செடிக்கு மேன்மை என்ன?
“Son of man, how is a vine better than any tree with branches that is among the trees in a forest?
3 ௩ ஏதாவது ஒரு வேலைசெய்ய அதிலே ஒரு கட்டை எடுக்கப்படுமோ? ஏதாவது ஒரு பொருட்களை தூக்கிவைக்கும்படி ஒரு முளையை அதினால் செய்வார்களோ?
Do people take wood from a vine to make anything? Or do they make a peg from it to hang anything on it?
4 ௪ இதோ, அது நெருப்பிற்கு இரையாக எறியப்படும்; அதின் இரண்டுமுனைகளையும் நெருப்பு எரித்துப்போடும்; அதின் நடுத்துண்டும் வெந்துபோகும்; அது எந்த வேலைக்காவது உதவுமோ?
See! If it is thrown into a fire as fuel, and if the fire has burned both of its ends and also the middle, is it good for anything?
5 ௫ இதோ, அது வேகாமல் இருக்கும்போதே ஒரு வேலைக்கும் உதவாமல் இருக்க, நெருப்பு அதை எரித்து, அது வெந்துபோனபின்பு, அது இனி ஒரு வேலைக்கு உதவுவது எப்படி?
See! When it was complete, it could not make anything; surely then, when the fire has burned, then it still will not make anything useful.
6 ௬ ஆதலால், யெகோவாகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்: காட்டுச்செடிகளுக்குள் இருக்கிற திராட்சைச்செடியை நான் நெருப்பிற்கு இரையாக ஒப்புக்கொடுத்ததுபோல, எருசலேமின் குடிகளையும் அப்படியே ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து,
Therefore the Lord Yahweh says this: Unlike the trees in the forests, I have given the vine as fuel for fires; I will act in the same way toward the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
7 ௭ என்னுடைய முகத்தை அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாகத் திருப்புவேன்; அவர்கள் ஒரு நெருப்பிலிருந்து நீங்கித் தப்பினாலும், வேறே நெருப்பு அவர்களை எரிக்கும்; அப்படியே நான் என்னுடைய முகத்தை அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாகத் திருப்பும்போது, நான் யெகோவா என்று அறிந்துகொள்வீர்கள்.
For I will set my face against them. Though they come out from the fire, yet the fire will consume them; so you will know that I am Yahweh, when I set my face against them.
8 ௮ அவர்கள் துரோகம்செய்தபடியினால், நான் தேசத்தைப் பாழாய்ப் போகச்செய்வேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார் என்றார்.
Then I will make the land into an abandoned wasteland because they have committed sin—this is the Lord Yahweh's declaration.”
