2 சாமுவேல் 8

1 ௧ இதற்குப் பின்பு தாவீது பெலிஸ்தர்களை முறியடித்து, அவர்களைக் கீழ்ப்படுத்தி, மேத்தேக் அம்மாவைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டான்.

And it came to pass after this, that David smote the Philistines, and put them to flight, and David took the tribute from out of the hand of the Philistines.

2 ௨ அவன் மோவாபியர்களையும் முறியடித்து, அவர்களைத் தரையிலே படுக்கச்செய்து, அவர்கள்மேல் நூல்போட்டு அளவெடுத்து இரண்டு வரிசை மனிதர்களைக் கொன்றுபோட்டு, ஒரு வரிசை மனிதர்களை உயிரோடு வைத்தான்; இவ்விதமாக மோவாபியர்கள் தாவீதுக்குச் சேவை செய்து, அவனுக்குக் கப்பங்கட்டுகிறவர்களானார்கள்.

And David smote Moab, and measured them out with lines, having laid them down on the ground: and there were two lines for slaying, and two lines he kept alive: and Moab became servants to David, yielding tribute.

3 ௩ ரேகோபின் மகனான ஆதாதேசர் என்னும் சோபாவின் ராஜா ஐப்பிராத்து நதி அருகில் இருக்கிற இடத்தைத் திரும்பத் தனக்குக் கைப்பற்றுவதற்காகச் சென்றபோது, தாவீது அவனையும் முறியடித்து,

And David smote Adraazar the son of Raab king of Suba, as he went to extend his power to the river Euphrates.

4 ௪ அவனுக்கு இருந்த இராணுவத்தில் 1,700 குதிரைவீரர்களையும், 20,000 காலாட்களையும் பிடித்து, இரதங்களில் 100 இரதங்களை வைத்துக்கொண்டு, மற்றவைகளையெல்லாம் முடமாக்கினான்.

And David took a thousand of his chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David houghed all his chariot [horses], and he reserved to himself a hundred chariots.

5 ௫ சோபாவின் ராஜாவான ஆதாதேசருக்கு உதவிசெய்ய தமஸ்குப் பட்டணத்தார்களான சீரியர்கள் வந்தார்கள்; தாவீது சீரியர்களில் 22,000 பேரைக் கொன்று,

And Syria of Damascus comes to help Adraazar king of Suba, and David smote twenty-two thousand men belonging to the Syrian.

6 ௬ தமஸ்குவிற்கு அடுத்த சீரியாவிலே படைகளை வைத்தான்; சீரியர்கள் தாவீதுக்குச் சேவை செய்து, அவனுக்குக் கப்பங்கட்டினார்கள்; தாவீது போன இடத்திலெல்லாம், யெகோவா அவனைக் காப்பாற்றினார்.

And David placed a garrison in Syria near Damascus, and the Syrians became servants and tributaries to David: and the Lord preserved David whithersoever he went.

7 ௭ ஆதாதேசரின் அதிகாரிகளுடைய பொன் கேடகங்களை தாவீது எடுத்து, அவைகளை எருசலேமிற்குக் கொண்டுவந்தான்.

And David took the golden bracelets which were on the servants of Adraazar king of Suba, and brought them to Jerusalem. And Susakim king of Egypt took them, when he went up to Jerusalem in the days of Roboam son of Solomon.

8 ௮ ஆதாதேசரின் பட்டணங்களான பேத்தாகிலும் பேரொத்தாயிலுமிருந்து தாவீது ராஜா மிகத் திரளான வெண்கலத்தையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டுவந்தான்.

And king David took from Metebac, and from the choice cities of Adraazar, very much brass: with that Solomon made the brazen sea, and the pillars, and the lavers, and all the furniture.

9 ௯ தாவீது ஆதாதேசருடைய எல்லா இராணுவத்தையும் முறியடித்த செய்தியை ஆமாத்தின் ராஜாவான தோயீ கேட்டபோது,

And Thou the king of Hemath heard that David had smitten all the host of Adraazar.

10 ௧0 ஆதாதேசர் தோயீயின்மேல் எப்போதும் யுத்தம்செய்துகொண்டிருந்ததால், ராஜாவான தாவீதின் சுகசெய்தியை விசாரிக்கவும், அவன் ஆதாதேசரோடு யுத்தம்செய்து, அவனை முறியடித்ததற்காக அவனுக்கு வாழ்த்துதல் சொல்லவும் தோயீ தன்னுடைய மகனான யோராமை ராஜாவினிடம் அனுப்பினான். மேலும் யோராம் தன்னுடைய கையிலே வெள்ளியும் பொன்னும் வெண்கலமுமான பொருட்களைக் கொண்டுவந்தான்.

And Thou sent Jedduram his son to king David, to ask him of his welfare, and to congratulate him on his fighting against Adraazar and smiting him, for he was an enemy to Adraazar: and in his hands were vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass.

11 ௧௧ அவன் கொண்டு வந்தவைகளை தாவீது ராஜா வெற்றிகண்ட சீரியர்கள், மோவாபியர்கள், அம்மோன் மக்கள், பெலிஸ்தர்கள், அமலேக்கியர்கள் என்னும் எல்லா தேசத்தார்களிடத்திலும்,

And these king David consecrated to the Lord, with the silver and with the gold which he consecrated out of all the cities which he conquered,

12 ௧௨ ரேகோபின் மகனான ஆதாதேசர் என்னும் சோபாவின் ராஜாவினிடமும் கொள்ளையிட்டதிலும் எடுத்து, யெகோவாவுக்கு நியமித்த வெள்ளியோடும் பொன்னோடும் யெகோவாவுக்குப் பிரதிஷ்டை செய்தான்.

out of Idumea, and out of Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalec, and from the spoils of Adraazar son of Raab king of Suba.

13 ௧௩ தாவீது உப்புப்பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே 18,000 சீரியர்களை முறியடித்துத் திரும்பினதால் புகழ்பெற்றான்.

And David made [himself] a name: and when he returned he smote Idumea in Gebelem to [the number of] eighteen thousand.

14 ௧௪ ஏதோமில் இராணுவ படைகளை வைத்தான்; ஏதோம் எங்கிலும் அவன் இராணுவ படைகளை வைத்ததால், ஏதோமியர்கள் எல்லோரும் தாவீதைச் சேவிக்கிறவர்களானார்கள்; தாவீது போன எல்லா இடத்திலும் யெகோவா அவனைக் காப்பாற்றினார்.

And he set garrisons in Idumea, even in all Idumea: and all the Idumeans were servants to the king. And the Lord preserved David wherever he went.

15 ௧௫ இப்படியே தாவீது இஸ்ரவேல் அனைத்தின்மேலும் ராஜாவாக இருந்தான்; அவன் தன்னுடைய எல்லா மக்களுக்கும் நியாயமும் நீதியும் செய்துவந்தான்.

And David reigned over all Israel: and David wrought judgment and justice over all his people.

16 ௧௬ செருயாவின் மகனான யோவாப் இராணுவத்தலைவனாக இருந்தான்; அகிலூதின் மகனான யோசபாத் மந்திரியாக இருந்தான்.

And Joab the son of Saruia [was] over the host; and Josaphat the son of Achilud [was keeper] of the records.

17 ௧௭ அகிதூபின் மகன் சாதோக்கும், அபியத்தாரின் மகன் அகிமெலேக்கும் ஆசாரியர்களாக இருந்தார்கள்; செராயா சரித்திர எழுத்தாளனாக இருந்தான்.

And Sadoc the son of Achitob, and Achimelech son of Abiathar, [were] priests; and Sasa [was] the scribe,

18 ௧௮ யோய்தாவின் மகன் பெனாயா கிரேத்தியர்களுக்கும் பிலேத்தியர்களுக்கும் தலைவனாக இருந்தான்; தாவீதின் மகன்களோ முன்னணி ஆலோசகர்களாக இருந்தார்கள்.

and Banaeas son of Jodae [was] councillor, and the Chelethite and the Phelethite, and the sons of David, were princes of the court.
