லூக்கா 16
1 இயேசு தமது சீடர்களிடம் சொன்னதாவது: “ஒரு செல்வந்தன் இருந்தான். அவனது உடைமைகளையெல்லாம், அவனது நிர்வாகி வீண்செலவு செய்வதாக, அவன்மேல் குற்றம் சுமத்தப்பட்டது.
Jesus said to his disciples: “There was a rich man who had a steward; and this steward was maliciously accused to him of wasting his estate.
2 எனவே அந்த செல்வந்தன் அவனைக் கூப்பிட்டு அவனிடம், ‘உன்னைப்பற்றி நான் கேள்விப்படுகிறது என்ன? நீ வந்து, உனது நிர்வாகத்தைக் குறித்த கணக்கை என்னிடம் ஒப்படைத்துவிடு. இனிமேலும் நீ எனது நிர்வாகியாக இருக்கமுடியாது’ என்றான்.
So the master called him and said ‘What is this that I hear about you? Give in your accounts, for you cannot act as steward any longer.’
3 “அதைக்கேட்ட அந்த நிர்வாகி, ‘இப்போது நான் என்ன செய்வேன்? எனது எஜமான் என்னை வேலையில் இருந்து நீக்கி விடப்போகிறாரே. நிலத்தைக் கொத்தவோ எனக்குப் பெலன் இல்லை. பிச்சை எடுக்கவும் எனக்கு வெட்கமாய் இருக்கிறது.
‘What am I to do,’ the steward asked himself, ‘now that my master is taking the steward’s place away from me? I have not strength to dig, and I am ashamed to beg.
4 இங்கு நான் எனது வேலையை இழந்து விடும்போது, மக்கள் தங்களுடைய வீடுகளிலே என்னை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளத்தக்கதாக, நான் என்ன செய்யவேண்டும் என்று எனக்குத் தெரியும்,’ என்று தனக்குள்ளே சொல்லிக்கொண்டான்.
I know what I will do, so that, as soon as I am turned out of my stewardship, people may welcome me into their homes.’
5 “தன்னுடைய எஜமானிடம் கடன்பட்டிருந்த எல்லோரையும் கூப்பிட்டான். வந்தவர்களில், முதலாவது ஆளிடம், ‘எனது எஜமானுக்கு நீ எவ்வளவு கொடுக்க வேண்டியுள்ளது?’ என்றான்.
One by one he called up his master’s debtors. ‘How much do you owe my master?’ he asked of the first.
6 “அதற்கு அவன், ‘மூன்று ஆயிரம் லிட்டர் எண்ணெய் கொடுக்க வேண்டியுள்ளது’ என்றான். “அந்த நிர்வாகி அவனிடம், ‘சீக்கிரமாய் உட்கார்ந்து, உனது கணக்கு சீட்டை எடுத்து, அதில் ஆயிரத்து ஐந்நூறு என்று எழுதிக்கொள்’ என்றான்.
‘Four hundred and forty gallons of oil,’ answered the man. ‘Here is your agreement,’ he said; ‘sit down at once and make it two hundred and twenty.’
7 “பின்பு அவன் இரண்டாவது ஆளிடம், ‘நீ எவ்வளவு கொடுக்க வேண்டியுள்ளது?’ என்று கேட்டான். “‘ஆயிரம் மூட்டை கோதுமை’ என்று அவன் பதிலளித்தான். “அப்பொழுது அவன் அவனிடம், ‘உனது கணக்குச் சீட்டை எடுத்து, அதை எண்ணூறு என்று எழுதிக்கொள்’ என்றான்.
And you, the steward said to the next, ‘how much do you owe?’ ‘Seventy quarters of wheat,’ he replied. ‘Here is your agreement,’ the steward said; ‘make it fifty-six.’
8 “அநீதியுள்ள அந்த நிர்வாகி, இப்படித் தந்திரமாக செயல்பட்டதை, அந்த எஜமான் பாராட்டினான். ஏனெனில் ஒளியின் மக்களைவிட, இந்த உலகத்தின் மக்கள் தங்களுடன் வாழ்கிறவர்களோடு, எப்படி நடந்துகொள்ள வேண்டும் என்பதில் புத்தியுள்ளவர்களாய் இருக்கிறார்கள். (aiōn g165)
His master complimented this dishonest steward on the shrewdness of his action. And indeed men of the world are shrewder in dealing with their fellow-men than those who have the Light. (aiōn g165)
9 உங்களுக்கு நண்பர்களைச் சம்பாதித்துக் கொள்ளும்படி, உலகத்தின் செல்வத்தை உபயோகப்படுத்துங்கள். அது உங்களைவிட்டு எடுபடும் போது, நீங்கள் நித்தியமான குடியிருப்புகளில் வரவேற்கப்படுவீர்கள் என்று நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன். (aiōnios g166)
And I say to you ‘Win friends for yourselves with your dishonest money,’ so that, when it comes to an end, there may be a welcome for you into the Eternal Home. (aiōnios g166)
10 “மிகச் சிறியவற்றில் உண்மையுள்ளவன், பெரியவற்றிலும் உண்மையுள்ளவனாய் இருப்பான். சிறியவற்றில் அநீதியுள்ளவனாய் இருக்கிறவன், பெரியவற்றிலும் அநீதியுள்ளவனாய் இருப்பான்.
He who is trustworthy in the smallest matter is trustworthy in a great one also; and he who is dishonest in the smallest matter is dishonest in a great one also.
11 எனவே, இந்த உலகத்தின் செல்வத்தைப் பயன்படுத்துவதில், நீங்கள் உண்மையற்றவர்களாய் இருந்தால், உண்மையான செல்வத்தை, யார் உங்களை நம்பி, உங்கள் கையில் கொடுப்பான்?
So, if you have proved untrustworthy with the ‘dishonest money,’ who will trust you with the true?
12 இன்னொருவனுடைய சொத்தைக் கையாள்வதில் நீங்கள் நம்பகமாக நடக்கவில்லையென்றால், யார் தன் சொத்தை உங்களுக்கு சொந்தமாய் இருக்கும்படி கொடுப்பான்?
And, if you have proved untrustworthy with what does not belong to us, who will give you what is really our own?
13 “எந்த வேலைக்காரனும், இரண்டு எஜமான்களுக்கு பணிசெய்ய முடியாது. அவன் ஒருவனை வெறுத்து, இன்னொருவனில் அன்பு செலுத்துவான். அல்லது அவன் ஒருவனுக்கு உண்மையுள்ளவனாய் இருந்து, மற்றவனை அலட்சியம் செய்வான். அப்படியே நீங்கள் இறைவனுக்கும், பணத்துக்கும் பணிசெய்ய முடியாது” என்றார்.
No servant can serve two masters, for, either he will hate one and love the other, or else he will attach himself to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.”
14 பண ஆசை பிடித்தவர்களான பரிசேயர் இதைக் கேட்டபோது, இயேசுவை ஏளனம் செய்தார்கள்.
All this was said within hearing of the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, and they began to sneer at Jesus.
15 இயேசு அவர்களிடம் சொன்னதாவது: “நீங்கள் மனிதருடைய பார்வையில், உங்களை நீதிமான்கள் எனக் காண்பிக்கிறீர்கள். ஆனால் இறைவனோ, உங்கள் இருதயங்களை அறிவார். மனிதரிடையே உயர்வாய் மதிக்கப்படும் காரியங்கள், இறைவனுடைய பார்வையில் அருவருப்பாய் இருக்கிறது.
“You,” said Jesus, “are the men who justify themselves before the world, but God can read your hearts; and what is highly esteemed among men may be an abomination in the sight of God.
16 “மோசேயின் சட்டமும், இறைவாக்கினரின் வார்த்தைகளும், யோவான் ஸ்நானகனுடைய காலம்வரைக்கும் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டன. ஆனால் அந்தக் காலத்திலிருந்தே, இறைவனுடைய அரசைப்பற்றிய நற்செய்தி பிரசங்கிக்கப்படுகிறது. எல்லோரும் பலவந்தமாய் அதற்குள் செல்வதற்கு முயற்சிக்கிறார்கள்.
The Law and the Prophets sufficed until the time of John. Since then the Good News of the Kingdom of God has been told, and everybody has been forcing his way into it.
17 வானமும், பூமியும் மறைந்து போகலாம், மோசேயின் சட்டத்தில் இருக்கிற எழுத்தின் சிறிய புள்ளிகூட மறைந்துபோகாது.
It would be easier for the heavens and the earth to disappear than for one stroke of a letter in the Law to be lost.
18 “தனது மனைவியை விவாகரத்து செய்துவிட்டு, இன்னொரு பெண்ணைத் திருமணம் செய்பவன், விபசாரம் செய்கிறான். விவாகரத்து செய்யப்பட்ட ஒரு பெண்ணை யாராவது திருமணம் செய்தால், அவனும் விபசாரம் செய்கிறான்.
Every one who divorces his wife and marries another woman is an adulterer, and the man who marries a divorced woman is an adulterer.
19 “ஒரு பணக்காரன் இருந்தான். அவன் கருஞ்சிவப்பும் மென்பட்டுமான உடை உடுத்தி, ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் சுகபோகமாய் வாழ்ந்து கொண்டிருந்தான்.
There was once a rich man, who dressed in purple robes and fine linen, and feasted every day in great splendour.
20 அவனுடைய வாசலருகே, லாசரு என்னும் ஒரு பிச்சைக்காரன் படுத்திருந்தான். அவன் புண்கள் நிறைந்தவனாய்,
Near his gateway there had been laid a beggar named Lazarus, who was covered with sores,
21 பணக்காரனின் மேஜையில் இருந்து விழுவதைச் சாப்பிடுவதற்கு ஆசையாயிருந்தான். நாய்களுங்கூட வந்து, அவன் புண்களை நக்கின.
and who longed to satisfy his hunger with what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the very dogs came and licked his sores.
22 “காலப்போக்கில் அந்தப் பிச்சைக்காரன் இறந்தான். தேவதூதர்கள் அவனைத் தூக்கிக்கொண்டுபோய், ஆபிரகாமின் மடியிலே அமர்த்தினார்கள். அந்தப் பணக்காரனும் இறந்து அடக்கம்பண்ணப்பட்டான்.
After a time the beggar died, and was taken by the angels to be with Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried.
23 அவன் நரகத்திலே வேதனைப்பட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தான். அவன் மேலே நோக்கிப் பார்த்தபோது, தூரத்திலே ஆபிரகாமையும், அவனுடைய மார்பில் சாய்ந்திருந்த லாசருவையும் கண்டான். (Hadēs g86)
In the Place of Death he looked up in his torment, and saw Abraham at a distance and Lazarus at his side. (Hadēs g86)
24 எனவே அவன், ‘தந்தை ஆபிரகாமே’ என்று அவனைக் கூப்பிட்டு, ‘என்னில் இரக்கம் கொண்டு, லாசரு தனது விரலின் நுனியைத் தண்ணீரில் தோய்த்து, என் நாவைக் குளிரப்பண்ணும்படி, அவனை அனுப்பும். நான் இந்த நெருப்பில் கிடந்து வேதனைப்படுகிறேனே’ என்றான்.
So he called out ‘Pity me, Father Abraham, and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am suffering agony in this flame.’
25 “அதற்கு ஆபிரகாம் அவனிடம், ‘மகனே, நீ உன் வாழ்நாட்களில் நலன்களையே அனுபவித்தாய் என்பதை நினைவிற்கொள். லாசருவோ, இன்னல்களையே அனுபவித்தான். இப்பொழுது அவன், இங்கு ஆறுதல் பெறுகிறான். நீயோ வேதனைப்படுகிறாய்.
‘Child,’ answered Abraham, ‘remember that you in your lifetime received what you thought desirable, just as Lazarus received what was not desirable; but now he has his consolation here, while you are suffering agony.
26 இவை எல்லாவற்றையும் தவிர, உங்களுக்கும் எங்களுக்கும் இடையே ஒரு பெரும் பிளவு ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. இதனால், இங்கிருந்து உங்களிடத்திற்குக் கடந்துவர விரும்பினாலும் அப்படி வரமுடியாது. அங்கிருந்து எங்களிடத்திற்கு கடந்து வரவும், ஒருவராலும் முடியாது’ என்றான்.
And not only that, but between you and us there lies a great chasm, so that those who wish to pass from here to you cannot, nor can they cross from there to us.’
27 “அதற்கு அவன், ‘அப்படியானால் தகப்பனே, நான் உம்மிடம் கெஞ்சிக்கேட்கிறேன். லாசருவை என்னுடைய தகப்பன் வீட்டிற்கு அனுப்பும்.
‘Then, Father,’ he said, ‘I beg you to send Lazarus to my father’s house —
28 ஏனெனில், எனக்கு ஐந்து சகோதரர் இருக்கிறார்கள். அவன் போய், அவர்களுக்கு எச்சரிக்கை செய்யட்டும். இந்த வேதனை நிறைந்த இடத்திற்கு, அவர்களும் வராமல் இருக்கட்டும்’ என்றான்.
For I have five brothers to warn them, so that they may not come to this place of torture also.’
29 “அதற்கு ஆபிரகாம் அவனிடம், ‘மோசேயும், இறைவாக்கினர்களும் எழுதிக் கொடுத்தவை அவர்களிடம் உண்டு; அவர்கள் அவற்றிற்கு செவிகொடுக்கட்டும்’ என்றான்.
‘They have the writings of Moses and the Prophets,’ replied Abraham; ‘let them listen to them.’
30 “அதற்கு அவன், ‘இல்லை, தந்தை ஆபிரகாமே, இறந்தவர்களிலிருந்து ஒருவன் அவர்களிடம் போனால், அவர்கள் மனந்திரும்புவார்கள்’ என்றான்.
‘But, Father Abraham,’ he urged, ‘if some one from the dead were to go to them, they would repent.’
31 “அப்பொழுது ஆபிரகாம் அவனிடம், ‘மோசேக்கும், இறைவாக்கினர்களுக்கும் அவர்கள் செவிகொடாவிட்டால், இறந்தவர்களிலிருந்து ஒருவன் உயிரோடு எழுந்து போனாலும், அவர்கள் நம்பமாட்டார்கள்’ என்று சொன்னான்.”
‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets,’ answered Abraham, ‘they will not be persuaded, even if some one were to rise from the dead.’”
