அப்போஸ்தலர் 15
1 சிலர் யூதேயாவிலிருந்து அந்தியோகியாவுக்கு வந்து, அங்கிருந்த சகோதரருக்குப் போதித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்: அவர்கள், “மோசே போதித்த முறைப்படி நீங்கள் விருத்தசேதனம் செய்யாவிட்டால், நீங்கள் இரட்சிக்கப்பட முடியாது” என்றார்கள்.
Then some men arrived from Judea who started teaching the believers, “Unless you're circumcised according to the rules set down by Moses, you can't be saved.”
2 இதனால் பவுல், பர்னபா ஆகியோருக்கும் அவர்களுக்குமிடையில் கடுமையான தகராறும், வாக்குவாதமும் ஏற்பட்டன. எனவே இந்தக் கேள்வியைக்குறித்து, அப்போஸ்தலரையும் சபைத்தலைவர்களையும் கலந்து பேசும்படி, எருசலேமுக்குப் போவதற்கென பவுலும் பர்னபாவும் நியமிக்கப்பட்டார்கள். இவர்களுடனேகூட, சில விசுவாசிகளும் நியமிக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.
Paul and Barnabas had many arguments and debates with them. So Paul and Barnabas and some others were appointed to go to Jerusalem and talk to the apostles and leaders there about this issue.
3 திருச்சபை அவர்களை வழியனுப்பி வைத்தது. அவர்கள் பெனிக்கே வழியாகவும், சமாரியா வழியாகவும் பயணம் பண்ணுகையில், யூதரல்லாத மக்கள் எவ்விதம் கர்த்தரிடம் மனந்திரும்பி இருக்கிறார்கள் என்று அறிவித்தார்கள். இந்தச் செய்தி சகோதரர் எல்லோருக்கும் பெருமகிழ்ச்சியைக் கொடுத்தது.
The church sent them on their way, and as they traveled through Phoenicia and Samaria, they explained how foreigners were being converted, which made all the believers very happy.
4 அவர்கள் எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தபோது, திருச்சபையினாலும், அப்போஸ்தலராலும், சபைத்தலைவர்களாலும் வரவேற்கப்பட்டார்கள். பவுலும் பர்னபாவும் தங்களைக்கொண்டு இறைவன் செய்த எல்லாவற்றையும் அவர்களுக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள்.
When they arrived in Jerusalem they were welcomed by the church members, the apostles, and the elders. They explained everything God had done through them.
5 அப்பொழுது பரிசேயர் குழுவைச் சேர்ந்த சில விசுவாசிகள் எழுந்து நின்று, “யூதரல்லாத மக்களும் விருத்தசேதனம் பெற்றுக்கொண்டு, மோசேயின் சட்டத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படிய வேண்டும்” என்றார்கள்.
But they were opposed by some of the believers who belonged to the Pharisee faction. They said, “These converts have to be circumcised, and instructed to observe the law of Moses.”
6 அப்பொழுது அப்போஸ்தலரும் சபைத்தலைவர்களும் இந்தக் காரியத்தைக்குறித்து ஆலோசிப்பதற்கு ஒன்றுகூடினார்கள்.
The apostles and elders met together to discuss the issue.
7 அதிக நேரம் கலந்துரையாடிய பின்பு, பேதுரு எழுந்து நின்று, அவர்களிடம் பேசத் தொடங்கினான்: “சகோதரரே, யூதரல்லாத மக்களும் நற்செய்தியைக் கேட்டு விசுவாசிப்பதற்கென, இறைவன் உங்கள் மத்தியிலிருந்து என்னைச் சிறிதுகாலத்துக்கு முன்பு தெரிந்துகொண்டார் என்று நீங்கள் அறிவீர்கள். யூதரல்லாத மக்களும் என் உதடுகளிலிருந்து நற்செய்தியைக் கேட்டு விசுவாசிக்க வேண்டுமென்றே அவர் என்னைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டார்.
After much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that some time ago God chose me from among you so that the foreigners could hear the message of good news and trust in Jesus.
8 இருதயத்தை அறிந்திருக்கிற இறைவன், நமக்கு பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரைக் கொடுத்ததுபோல, யூதரல்லாத மக்களுக்கும் கொடுத்து, அவர்களையும் அவர் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டார் என்பதைக் காண்பித்தார்.
God, who knows thewhat we're thinking, has shown that he accepts them, giving them the Holy Spirit just as he did to us.
9 இறைவன் விசுவாசத்தினாலேயே அவர்களுடைய இருதயங்களை சுத்தமாக்கி, நமக்கும் அவர்களுக்கும் எந்தவித வித்தியாசமும் இல்லாதபடிச் செய்தார்
He doesn't make any distinction between us and them—he cleansed their thoughts as they trusted in him.
10 இப்படியிருக்க, யூதரல்லாத விசுவாசிகளின் கழுத்தின்மேல் நம்மாலோ, நம் தந்தையராலோ சுமக்க முடியாத நுகத்தை சுமத்துவதினால், ஏன் இறைவனைச் சோதிக்கிறீர்கள்?
So why do you want to oppose God and put a burden on the believers that our fathers weren't able to bear, and we can't either?
11 எனவே, கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவின் கிருபையின் மூலமே, நாம் இரட்சிக்கப்படுகிறோம் என்று விசுவாசிக்கிறோம். அவர்களும் அப்படித்தான் இரட்சிக்கப்படுகிறார்கள்” என்றான்.
We're convinced that we're saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way they are.”
12 பின்பு பர்னபாவும் பவுலும் தங்கள் மூலமாக யூதரல்லாத மக்கள் மத்தியில் இறைவன் செய்த அற்புதங்களையும், அதிசயங்களையும் பற்றிச் சொன்னார்கள். அதைக் கேட்டபோது கூடியிருந்த அனைவரும் மவுனமாய் இருந்தார்கள்.
Everyone listened attentively to Barnabas and Paul as they explained the miraculous signs that God had performed through them among the foreigners.
13 அவர்கள் பேசி முடித்ததும், யாக்கோபு பேசத் தொடங்கினான்: சகோதரரே, நான் சொல்வதைக் கேளுங்கள்.
After they had finished speaking, James spoke up, saying, “Brothers, listen to me.
14 இறைவன் எப்படி யூதரல்லாத மக்களிலிருந்து தமது பெயருக்கென்று மக்களைத் தெரிந்துகொள்ளும்படி, முதன்முதலில் அவர்களுக்கு தயவு காண்பித்தார் என்பதைக்குறித்து, சீமோன் நமக்கு விவரமாய் சொல்லியிருக்கிறான்.
Simon has described how God first revealed his concern for the foreigners by taking from them a people committed to him.
15 எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறதன்படி, இறைவாக்கினரின் வார்த்தைகளும் இவற்றிற்கு ஒத்திருக்கின்றன:
This is in accordance with the words of the prophets, as it's written,
16 “‘இதற்குப் பின்பு நான் திரும்பிவந்து, விழுந்துபோன தாவீதின் கூடாரத்தைத் திரும்பவும் கட்டுவேன். அதில் பாழடைந்து போனவற்றைக் கட்டுவேன். நான் அதைத் திரும்பவும் புதுப்பிப்பேன்.
‘In the future I will return, and I will rebuild the fallen house of David; I will rebuild its ruins and set it straight.
17 அப்பொழுது மீந்திருக்கும் மக்கள் கர்த்தரைத் தேடுவார்கள், எனது பெயரை வைத்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிற யூதரல்லாத மக்கள் அனைவரும் கர்த்தரைத் தேடுவார்கள் என்று நித்திய காலத்தை அறிந்தவரும்,
I will do this so that those who are left may come to the Lord, including the foreigners who call on my name.
This is what the Lord says, who revealed these things long ago.’ (aiōn g165)
19 “எனவே யூதரல்லாத மக்கள் இறைவனிடம் திரும்புகிறதற்கு, நாம் அவர்களுக்கு அதிக கஷ்டங்கொடுக்கக்கூடாது. இதுவே எனது தீர்மானம்.
So my decision is that we shouldn't make it difficult for foreigners who turn to God.
20 ஆயினும், அவர்கள் இறைவன் அல்லாதவைகளினால் கறைப்பட்ட உணவைத் தவிர்க்கவேண்டும் என்றும், முறைகேடான பாலுறவுகளில் ஈடுபடக்கூடாது என்றும், நெரித்துக் கொல்லப்பட்ட மிருகத்தின் இறைச்சியைச் சாப்பிடக்கூடாது என்றும், இரத்தத்தை சாப்பிடக்கூடாது என்றும் நாம் எழுதி அறிவிக்கவேண்டும்.
We should write to them and tell them to avoid food sacrificed to idols, sexual immorality, meat of animals that have been strangled, and from consuming blood.
21 ஏனெனில் ஒவ்வொரு பட்டணத்திலும் முந்தைய காலங்களில் இருந்து மோசேயின் இந்த சட்டங்கள் பிரசங்கிக்கப்பட்டு வந்திருக்கின்றன. ஒவ்வொரு ஓய்வுநாளிலும் ஜெப ஆலயங்களில் அவை வாசிக்கப்படுகிறதே” என்றான்.
For the law of Moses has been taught in every town for a long, long time—it's read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”
22 பின்பு அப்போஸ்தலரும், சபைத்தலைவர்களும், திருச்சபையார் அனைவரும் தங்களில் சிலரைத் தெரிந்து, அவர்களை பவுலுடனும் பர்னபாவுடனும் அந்தியோகியாவுக்கு அனுப்பத் தீர்மானித்தார்கள். அவர்கள் இதற்கு பர்சபா எனப்பட்ட யூதாவையும் சீலாவையும் தெரிந்துகொண்டார்கள். இந்த இருவரும் சகோதரர் மத்தியில் தலைவர்களாய் இருந்தார்கள்.
Then the apostles and elders, together with the whole church, decided it would be good to choose some representatives and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They chose Judas Barsabbas and Silas, leaders among the brothers,
23 அவர்களுடன் இவ்வாறு ஒரு கடிதத்தையும் எழுதி அனுப்பினார்கள்: உங்கள் சகோதரர்களான அப்போஸ்தலரும், சபைத்தலைவர்களும், அந்தியோகியா, சீரியா, சிலிசியா ஆகிய இடங்களில் இருக்கிற யூதரல்லாத விசுவாசிகளான உங்களுக்கு எழுதுகிறதாவது: உங்களுக்கு வாழ்த்துகள்.
and sent them with this letter: “Greetings from us, the apostles and elders and brothers, to the non-Jewish brothers in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia:
24 எங்கள் அதிகாரம் பெறாத சிலர், எங்களிடமிருந்து புறப்பட்டு வந்தார்கள் என்றும், அவர்கள் தாங்கள் சொன்ன காரியங்களினாலே, உங்களுக்கு மனக்குழப்பத்தை உண்டாக்கி, உங்களைக் குழப்பமடையச் செய்திருக்கிறார்கள் என்றும், நாங்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டிருக்கிறோம்.
We have heard that some from our group have confused you with their teachings, causing you trouble. We certainly didn't tell them to do this!
25 எனவே, நாங்கள் அனைவரும் எங்களில் சிலரைத் தெரிந்தெடுத்து, எங்கள் அன்புக்குரியவர்களான பர்னபாவுடனும் பவுலுடனும் அனுப்புவதற்கு உடன்பட்டிருக்கிறோம்.
So we have agreed to choose some representatives and send them to you together with our much-loved brothers Barnabas and Paul,
26 இவர்கள், நமது கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் பெயருக்காக உயிரையும் கொடுக்கத் துணிந்தவர்கள்.
who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
27 எனவே, நாங்கள் எழுதுவதை வாயின் வார்த்தையினால் உறுதிப்படுத்தும்படி, யூதாவையும் சீலாவையும் அனுப்புகிறோம்.
So we are sending to you Judas and Silas who can verbally confirm what we're saying.
28 கீழ்க்காணும் முக்கியமானவற்றைத் தவிர, வேறு எந்தப் பாரத்தையும் உங்கள்மேல் சுமத்தாமல் இருப்பது நலமென்று, பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவருக்கும் எங்களுக்கும் தோன்றியது:
It seemed best to the Holy Spirit and to us not to place on you any heavier burden than these important requirements.
29 நீங்கள் இறைவன் அல்லாதவைகளுக்குப் பலியிடப்பட்ட உணவைத் தவிர்க்கவேண்டும், இரத்தத்தையும், நெரித்துக் கொல்லப்பட்ட மிருகத்தின் இறைச்சியையும் விலக்கிக்கொள்ள வேண்டும், முறைகேடான பாலுறவுகளில் ஈடுபடக்கூடாது. இவ்வாறான காரியங்களைத் தவிர்த்துக்கொள்ள எல்லா முயற்சிகளையும் செய்வது நல்லது. உங்களுக்கு நலமுண்டாவதாக.
You should avoid: anything sacrificed to idols; blood; meat from strangled animals; and sexual immorality. You will do well to observe these requirements. God bless you.”
30 எனவே அவர்கள் வழியனுப்பப்பட்டு, அந்தியோகியாவுக்கு வந்தனர். அங்கே அவர்கள் திருச்சபையை ஒன்றுகூட்டி, அந்தக் கடிதத்தைக் கொடுத்தார்கள்.
The men were sent on their way to Antioch. When they arrived they called everybody together and delivered the letter.
31 மக்கள் அதை வாசித்து, அந்த ஊக்கப்படுத்தும் வார்த்தைகளைக்குறித்து மகிழ்ச்சி அடைந்தார்கள்.
After they had read it, the people were so happy for the encouraging message.
32 யூதாவும் சீலாவும் இறைவாக்கினராய் இருந்தார்கள். எனவே அவர்கள் அந்த விசுவாசிகளை ஊக்குவிப்பதற்கும், உறுதிப்படுத்துவதற்கும் பல காரியங்களைச் சொன்னார்கள்.
Judas and Silas, who were also prophets, encouraged the brothers, explaining many things, and strengthening them.
33 சிறிதுகாலம் அங்கு தங்கியபின், அவர்கள் தங்களை அனுப்பியவர்களிடம் திரும்பிப்போகும்படி, அங்கிருந்த விசுவாசிகள் அவர்களைச் சமாதானத்தின் ஆசீர்வாதத்துடன் அனுப்பிவைத்தார்கள்.
After spending some time there they were sent back by the brothers with their blessing to the believers in Jerusalem.
34 ஆனால் சீலாவோ, அங்கேயே தங்கியிருக்கத் தீர்மானித்தான்.
35 பவுலும் பர்னபாவும்கூட, அந்தியோகியாவிலே சிறிதுகாலம் தங்கியிருந்தார்கள். அங்கே அவர்கள் வேறு பலருடன் சேர்ந்து கர்த்தரின் வார்த்தையை போதித்துக்கொண்டும் பிரசங்கித்துக்கொண்டும் இருந்தார்கள்.
But Paul and Barnabas stayed in Antioch, teaching and proclaiming the word of God along with many others.
36 சில நாட்களுக்குப்பின்பு பவுல் பர்னபாவிடம், “நாம் கர்த்தரின் வார்த்தையைப் பிரசங்கித்த எல்லாப் பட்டணங்களிலும் உள்ள விசுவாசிகளிடம் திரும்பிப்போய், அவர்கள் எப்படியிருக்கிறார்கள் என்று பார்ப்போம்” என்றான்.
Some time later Paul said to Barnabas, “Let's go back and visit the believers in every town where we shared the word of the Lord, and see how they're doing.”
37 பர்னபாவும் அதற்கு விருப்பப்பட்டு, மாற்கு என்று அழைக்கப்பட்ட யோவானைத் தங்களுடன் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோக விரும்பினான்.
Barnabas planned to take along John Mark too.
38 ஆனால் மாற்கு பம்பிலியாவிலே தங்களைவிட்டுப் பிரிந்து, தங்களுடன் ஊழியத்தில் வராமல் போனதால், அவனைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு போவது நல்லதல்ல என்று பவுல் நினைத்தான்.
But Paul didn't think it was a good idea to take him with them, since he'd left them in Pamphylia and hadn't continued working with them.
39 இதைப்பற்றி அவர்களுக்குள்ளே கடுமையான விவாதம் ஏற்பட்டதனால், அவர்கள் பிரிந்து சென்றார்கள். பர்னபா மாற்குவைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு கப்பல் மூலமாக சீப்புரு தீவுக்குப் போனான்.
They had such a strong disagreement that they separated. Barnabas took Mark with him and sailed to Cyprus.
40 பவுலோ சீலாவைத் தெரிந்தெடுத்து விசுவாசிகளால் கர்த்தருடைய கிருபைக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்பட்டு அவனுடன் போனான்.
Paul chose Silas, and as they left, the believers committed them to the grace of the Lord.
41 பவுல் சீரியா, சிலிசியா வழியாகப்போய் திருச்சபைகளைப் பெலப்படுத்தினான்.
Paul traveled through Syria and Cilicia, encouraging the churches there.
