Psaltaren 116

1 Det är mig ljuft, att Herren hörer mina röst och mina bön;

I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice [and] my supplications.

2 Att han böjer sina öron till mig; derföre vill jag åkalla honom i mina lifsdagar.

Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon [him] as long as I live.

3 Dödsens snaror hade omfattat mig, och helvetes ångest hade råkat uppå mig; jag kom i jämmer och nöd. (Sheol h7585)

The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. (Sheol h7585)

4 Men jag åkallade Herrans Namn: O! Herre, fräls mina själ.

Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

5 Herren är nådelig och rättfärdig, och vår Gud är barmhertig.

Gracious [is] the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God [is] merciful.

6 Herren bevarar de enfaldiga; när jag nederligger så hjelper han mig.

The LORD preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.

7 Var nu åter tillfrids, min själ; ty Herren gör dig godt.

Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.

8 Ty du hafver uttagit mina själ utu dödenom, mina ögon ifrå tårar, min fot ifrå fall.

For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, [and] my feet from falling.

9 Jag vill vandra för Herranom uti de lefvandes lande.

I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.

10 Jag tror, derföre talar jag; men jag varder svårliga plågad.

I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:

11 Jag sade i min häpenhet: Alla menniskor äro lögnaktige.

I said in my haste, All men [are] liars.

12 Huru skall jag vedergälla Herranom alla hans välgerningar, som han mig gör?

What shall I render unto the LORD [for] all his benefits toward me?

13 Jag vill taga den helsosamma kalken, och predika Herrans Namn.

I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.

14 Jag vill betala mina löften Herranom, för allt folk.

I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.

15 Hans helgons död är dyr hållen för Herranom.

Precious in the sight of the LORD [is] the death of his saints.

16 O! Herre, jag är din tjenare; jag är din tjenare, dine tjenarinnos son; du hafver sönderslitit mina band.

O LORD, truly I [am] thy servant; I [am] thy servant, [and] the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.

17 Dig vill jag offra tacksägelse, och predika Herrans Namn.

I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.

18 Jag vill betala mina löften Herranom, för allt hans folk;

I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people,

19 Uti gårdarna åt Herrans hus, uti dig, Jerusalem. Halleluja.

In the courts of the LORD’s house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.
