Lukas 18
1 Sade han ock en liknelse till dem derom, att man skall alltid bedja, och icke förtröttas;
And he spake also a simile to them, that it behoveth [us] always to pray, and not to faint,
2 Sägandes: En domare var uti en stad, den icke fruktade Gud, och ej heller hade försyn för några mennisko;
saying, 'A certain judge was in a certain city — God he is not fearing, and man he is not regarding —
3 Så var i samma stad en enka; hon kom till honom, och sade: Hjelp mig ifrå min trätobroder.
and a widow was in that city, and she was coming unto him, saying, Do me justice on my opponent,
4 Och han ville icke till någon tid. Sedan sade han vid sig: Ändock jag icke fruktar Gud, ej heller hafver försyn för någon mennisko;
and he would not for a time, but after these things he said in himself, Even if God I do not fear, and man do not regard,
5 Dock, fördenskull att denna enkan öfverfaller mig så svåra, måste jag fly henne rätt, att hon icke skall komma på det sista, och ropa på mig.
yet because this widow doth give me trouble, I will do her justice, lest, perpetually coming, she may plague me.'
6 Och sade Herren: Hörer här, hvad den orätta domaren säger.
And the Lord said, 'Hear ye what the unrighteous judge saith:
7 Skulle ock icke Gud hämnas sina utkorade, som ropa till honom dag och natt; skulle han hafva tålamod dermed?
and shall not God execute the justice to His choice ones, who are crying unto Him day and night — bearing long in regard to them?
8 Jag säger eder, att han skall hämnas dem snarliga. Dock likväl, då menniskones Son kommer, månn han skall finna tro på jordene?
I say to you, that He will execute the justice to them quickly; but the Son of Man having come, shall he find the faith upon the earth?'
9 Sade han ock till somliga, som tröste på sig sjelfva, att de voro rättfärdige, och försmådde andra, denna liknelsen:
And he spake also unto certain who have been trusting in themselves that they were righteous, and have been despising the rest, this simile:
10 Två män gingo upp i templet till att bedja; den ene en Pharisee, och den andre en Publican.
'Two men went up to the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee, and the other a tax-gatherer;
11 Phariseen stod och bad så vid sig sjelf: Jag tackar dig Gud, att jag är icke såsom andra menniskor, röfvare, orättfärdige, horkarlar, eller ock såsom denne Publicanen.
the Pharisee having stood by himself, thus prayed: God, I thank Thee that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax-gatherer;
12 Jag fastar två resor i veckone, och gifver tiond af allt det jag äger.
I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all things — as many as I possess.
13 Och Publicanen stod långt ifrån, och ville icke lyfta sin ögon upp till himmelen; utan slog sig för sitt bröst, och sade: Gud, miskunda dig öfver mig syndare.
'And the tax-gatherer, having stood afar off, would not even the eyes lift up to the heaven, but was smiting on his breast, saying, God be propitious to me — the sinner!
14 Jag säger eder: Denne gick dädan hem igen rättfärdigad, mer än den andre; ty den sig upphöjer, han varder förnedrad; och den sig förnedrar, han varder upphöjd.
I say to you, this one went down declared righteous, to his house, rather than that one: for every one who is exalting himself shall be humbled, and he who is humbling himself shall be exalted.'
15 Så båro de ock barn till honom, att han skulle taga på dem; då hans Lärjungar det sågo, näpste de dem.
And they were bringing near also the babes, that he may touch them, and the disciples having seen did rebuke them,
16 Men Jesus kallade dem till sig, och sade: Låter barnen komma till mig, och förmener dem icke; ty sådana hörer Guds rike till.
and Jesus having called them near, said, 'Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for of such is the reign of God;
17 Sannerliga säger jag eder: Hvilken som icke tager Guds rike som ett barn, han skall icke komma derin.
verily I say to you, Whoever may not receive the reign of God as a little child, may not enter into it.'
18 Och frågade honom en öfverste, sägandes: Gode Mästar, hvad skall jag göra, att jag må få evinnerligit lif? (aiōnios g166)
And a certain ruler questioned him, saying, 'Good teacher, what having done — shall I inherit life age-during?' (aiōnios g166)
19 Sade Jesus till honom: Hvi kallar du mig godan? Ingen är god, utan allena Gud.
And Jesus said to him, 'Why me dost thou call good? no one [is] good, except One — God;
20 Budorden vetst du: Du skall icke bedrifva hor; du skall icke dräpa; du skall icke stjäla; du skall icke säga falskt vittnesbörd; du skall ära din fader och dina moder.
the commands thou hast known: Thou mayest not commit adultery, Thou mayest do no murder, Thou mayest not steal, Thou mayest not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.'
21 Då sade han: Allt detta hafver jag hållit af min ungdom.
And he said, 'All these I did keep from my youth;'
22 Då Jesus det hörde, sade han till honom: Än fattas dig ett; sälj bort allt det du hafver, och skift emellan de fattiga, och du skall få en skatt i himmelen; och kom, och följ mig.
and having heard these things, Jesus said to him, 'Yet one thing to thee is lacking; all things — as many as thou hast — sell, and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven, and come, be following me;'
23 Då han det hörde, vardt han storliga bedröfvad; ty han var ganska rik.
and he, having heard these things, became very sorrowful, for he was exceeding rich.
24 Då Jesus såg honom vara mägta bedröfvad, sade han: O! med huru stor plats komma de i Guds rike, som penningar hafva;
And Jesus having seen him become very sorrowful, said, 'How hardly shall those having riches enter into the reign of God!
25 Ty snarare kan en camel gå igenom ett nålsöga, än en riker komma in i Guds rike.
for it is easier for a camel through the eye of a needle to enter, than for a rich man into the reign of God to enter.'
26 Då sade de som det hörde: Ho kan då varda salig?
And those who heard, said, 'And who is able to be saved?'
27 Men han sade: Det omöjeligit är för menniskom, det är möjeligit för Gud.
and he said, 'The things impossible with men are possible with God.'
28 Då sade Petrus: Si, vi hafve all ting öfvergifvit, och följt dig.
And Peter said, 'Lo, we left all, and did follow thee;'
29 Sade han till dem: Sannerliga säger jag eder; ingen är den som hafver öfvergifvit hus, eller föräldrar, eller bröder, eller hustru, eller barn, för Guds rikes skull;
and he said to them, 'Verily I say to you, that there is not one who left house, or parents, or brothers, or wife, or children, for the sake of the reign of God,
31 Då tog Jesus till sig de tolf, och sade till dem: Si, vi gåm upp till Jerusalem, och all ting skola fullbordad varda, som skrifven äro af Propheterna om menniskones Son.
And having taken the twelve aside, he said unto them, 'Lo, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things shall be completed — that have been written through the prophets — to the Son of Man,
32 Ty han skall öfverantvardas Hedningom, och begabbas, och försmädas, och bespottas.
for he shall be delivered up to the nations, and shall be mocked, and insulted, and spit upon,
33 Och sedan de hafva hudflängt honom, skola de döda honom; och tredje dagen skall han uppstå igen.
and having scourged they shall put him to death, and on the third day he shall rise again.'
34 Men de förstodo der intet af, och talet var dem så fördoldt, att de icke förstodo hvad som sades.
And they none of these things understood, and this saying was hid from them, and they were not knowing the things said.
35 Så hände sig, att när han kom in mot Jericho, satt en blinder vid vägen, och tiggde.
And it came to pass, in his coming nigh to Jericho, a certain blind man was sitting beside the way begging,
36 Och när han hörde folket framgå, frågade han hvad det var?
and having heard a multitude going by, he was inquiring what this may be,
37 Då sade de till honom, att Jesus af Nazareth gick der fram.
and they brought him word that Jesus the Nazarene doth pass by,
38 Då ropade han, och sade: Jesu, Davids Son, varkunna dig öfver mig.
and he cried out, saying, 'Jesus, Son of David, deal kindly with me;'
39 Men de, som föregingo, näpste honom, att han skulle tiga; men han ropade dessmer: Davids Son, varkunna dig öfver mig.
and those going before were rebuking him, that he might be silent, but he was much more crying out, 'Son of David, deal kindly with me.'
40 Då stadnade Jesus, och böd leda honom till sig. Då han kom fram, frågade han honom,
And Jesus having stood, commanded him to be brought unto him, and he having come nigh, he questioned him,
41 Sägandes: Hvad vill du, att jag skall göra dig? Då sade han: Herre, att jag måtte få min syn.
saying, 'What wilt thou I shall do to thee?' and he said, 'Sir, that I may receive sight.'
42 Och Jesus sade till honom: Haf din syn; din tro hafver frälst dig.
And Jesus said to him, 'Receive thy sight; thy faith hath saved thee;'
43 Och straxt fick han sin syn igen, och följde honom, prisandes Gud. Och allt folket, som detta sågo, lofvade Gud.
and presently he did receive sight, and was following him, glorifying God; and all the people, having seen, did give praise to God.
