Jesaja 19

1 Detta är tungen öfver Egypti land: Si, Herren skall fara uti enom snarom sky, och komma in uti Egypten; då skola de afgudar uti Egypten bäfva för honom, och de Egyptiers hjerta skall gifva sig i dem.

The burden of Egypt. “Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud, and comes to Egypt. The idols of Egypt will tremble at his presence; and the heart of Egypt will melt within it.

2 Och jag skall hetsa, de Egyptier på hvarannan, att en broder skall strida emot den andra, en vän emot den andra, en stad emot den andra, ett rike emot det andra.

I will stir up the Egyptians against the Egyptians, and they will fight everyone against his brother, and everyone against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.

3 Och de Egyptiers mod skall förgås i dem, och jag skall göra deras anslag omintet; så skola de då fråga deras afgudar och Prester, och spåmän och tecknatydare.

The spirit of the Egyptians will fail within them. I will destroy their counsel. They will seek the idols, the charmers, those who have familiar spirits, and the wizards.

4 Men jag skall gifva de Egyptier uti grufveliga herrars händer; och en hård Konung skall råda öfver dem, säger den rådandes Herren Zebaoth.

I will give over the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel lord. A fierce king will rule over them,” says the Lord, GOD of Armies.

5 Och vattnet i hafvet skall uttorkas; dertill skola ock strömmarna, bortsjunka och försvinna.

The waters will fail from the sea, and the river will be wasted and become dry.

6 Älfverna skola utlöpa, så att dammsjöarna skola förminskas och torre varda; rör och säf förvissna.

The rivers will become foul. The streams of Egypt will be diminished and dried up. The reeds and flags will wither away.

7 Och gräset vid bäckerna, och all säd vid vattnet skall förfalna, förderfvas och till intet varda.

The meadows by the Nile, by the brink of the Nile, and all the sown fields of the Nile, will become dry, be driven away, and be no more.

8 Och fiskarena skola sörja, och alle de, som fiskakrok kasta i vattnet, skola beklaga sig; och de, som nät utkasta i vattnet, skola bedröfvade varda.

The fishermen will lament, and all those who fish in the Nile will mourn, and those who spread nets on the waters will languish.

9 De skola afgå med skam, som god garn göra, och nät binda.

Moreover those who work in combed flax, and those who weave white cloth, will be confounded.

10 Och de som fiskakistor hafva, med alla dem som dammar för lön göra, skola ångse varda.

The pillars will be broken in pieces. All those who work for hire will be grieved in soul.

11 De Förstar i Zoan äro dårar, Pharaos vise rådgifvare äro i deras råd galne vordne. Hvi sägen I dock om Pharao: Jag är visamannabarn, och är af gamla Konungar kommen?

The princes of Zoan are utterly foolish. The counsel of the wisest counsellors of Pharaoh has become stupid. How do you say to Pharaoh, “I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings”?

12 Hvar äro då nu dine vise? Låt dem förkunna, och undervisa dig, hvad Herren Zebaoth öfver Egypten beslutit hafver.

Where then are your wise men? Let them tell you now; and let them know what the LORD of Armies has purposed concerning Egypt.

13 Men de Förstar i Zoan äro vordne till dårar; de Förstar i Noph äro bedragne; de förföra samt med Egypten hörnstenen för slägten.

The princes of Zoan have become fools. The princes of Memphis are deceived. They have caused Egypt to go astray, those who are the cornerstone of her tribes.

14 Ty Herren hafver utgjutit en villoanda ibland dem, att de skola förföra Egypten uti allt det de göra, såsom en drucken ragar, då han spyr.

The LORD has mixed a spirit of perverseness in the middle of her; and they have caused Egypt to go astray in all of its works, like a drunken man staggers in his vomit.

15 Och Egypten skall ingen hafva, den der för hufvud eller stjert, bål eller gren är.

Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which head or tail, palm branch or rush, may do.

16 På den tiden skall Egypten vara såsom qvinnor, och frukta sig, och förskräckas, då Herren Zebaoth veftar handena öfver dem.

In that day the Egyptians will be like women. They will tremble and fear because of the shaking of the LORD of Armies’s hand, which he shakes over them.

17 Och Egypten skall frukta sig för Juda lande, så att den der tänker uppå, han skall förskräckas öfver Herrans Zebaoths råd, som han öfver det beslutit hafver.

The land of Judah will become a terror to Egypt. Everyone to whom mention is made of it will be afraid, because of the plans of the LORD of Armies, which he determines against it.

18 Uti den tiden skola fem städer uti Egypti land tala efter Canaans mål, och svärja vid Herran Zebaoth; en af dem skall heta Irheres.

In that day, there will be five cities in the land of Egypt that speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of Armies. One will be called “The city of destruction.”

19 På den samma tiden skall Herrans Zebaoths altare vara midt uti Egypti land, och en Herrans vårdsten i gränsone;

In that day, there will be an altar to the LORD in the middle of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the LORD at its border.

20 Den ett tecken och vittne vara skall Herranom Zebaoth uti Egypti land; ty de skola ropa till Herran, för sina plågares skull, och han skall sända dem en Frälsare och mästare, som dem hjelpa skall.

It will be for a sign and for a witness to the LORD of Armies in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the LORD because of oppressors, and he will send them a saviour and a defender, and he will deliver them.

21 Ty Herren skall af, de Egyptier känd varda; och de Egyptier skola känna Herran på den tiden, och skola tjena honom med offer och spisoffer, och skola göra Herranom löfte, och hålla det.

The LORD will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the LORD in that day. Yes, they will worship with sacrifice and offering, and will vow a vow to the LORD, and will perform it.

22 Och Herren skall slå de Egyptier, och hela dem; ty de skola omvända sig till Herran, och han skall låta bedja sig, och hela dem.

The LORD will strike Egypt, striking and healing. They will return to the LORD, and he will be entreated by them, and will heal them.

23 På den tiden skall en väg vara ifrån Egypten in uti Assyrien, så att de Assyrier skola komma in uti Egypten, och de Egyptier in uti Assyrien, och både Egyptier och Assyrier Gudi tjena.

In that day there will be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria; and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians.

24 På samma tiden skall Israel vara sjelf tredje, med de Egyptier och Assyrier, genom den välsignelse, som på jordene vara skall.

In that day, Israel will be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, a blessing within the earth;

25 Ty Herren Zebaoth skall välsigna dem, och säga: Välsignad äst du Egypten, mitt folk, och du Assur, mina händers verk, och du Israel, mitt arf.

because the LORD of Armies has blessed them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance.”
