1 Daudi, pamoja na majemadari wa jeshi, wakawatenga baadhi ya wana wa Asafu, wana wa Hemani na wana wa Yeduthuni, kwa ajili ya huduma ya kutoa unabii, wakitumia vinubi, zeze na matoazi. Hii ndiyo orodha ya watu waliofanya huduma hii:
David and the leaders of the army selected some of the sons of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun to prophesy with harps, with stringed instruments, and with cymbals. Here is the list of the men who performed this service:
2 Kutoka kwa wana wa Asafu walikuwa: Zakuri, Yosefu, Nethania na Asarela. Wana wa Asafu walikuwa chini ya usimamizi wa Asafu, ambaye alitoa unabii chini ya usimamizi wa mfalme.
From the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asharelah, the sons of Asaph, under the direction of Asaph, who prophesied under the king's supervision.
3 Wana wa Yeduthuni walikuwa sita: Gedalia, Seri, Yeshaya, Shimei, Hashabia, na Matithia, nao walikuwa chini ya usimamizi wa baba yao Yeduthuni, wao walikuwa wakitoa unabii wakitumia vinubi, wakimshukuru na kumtukuza Bwana.
From the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six in all, under the direction of their father Jeduthun, who played the harp for giving thanks and praising Yahweh.
4 Wana wa Hemani walikuwa: Bukia, Matania, Uzieli, Shebueli na Yeremothi, Hanania, Hanani, Eliatha, Gidalti na Romamti-Ezeri, Yoshbekasha, Malothi, Hothiri na Mahaziothi.
From the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shubael, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth.
5 Wote hawa walikuwa wana wa Hemani mwonaji wa mfalme. Aliwapata wana hawa kutokana na ahadi ya Mungu ili kumwinua. Mungu alimpa Hemani wana kumi na wanne na binti watatu.
All these were the sons of Heman the king's prophet. God gave Heman fourteen sons and three daughters to lift up his horn.
6 Hawa wanaume wote walikuwa chini ya usimamizi wa baba yao kwa ajili ya uimbaji katika Hekalu la Bwana wakitumia matoazi, zeze na vinubi, kwa ajili ya huduma katika nyumba ya Mungu. Asafu, Yeduthuni na Hemani walikuwa chini ya usimamizi wa mfalme.
All these were under the direction of their fathers. They were musicians in Yahweh's house, with cymbals and stringed instruments as they served in God's house. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the king's supervision.
7 Pamoja na ndugu zao wote walikuwa wamefundishwa na kuwa stadi wa uimbaji kwa Bwana. Idadi yao walikuwa 288.
They and their brothers who were skilled and trained to make music to Yahweh numbered 288.
8 Vijana kwa wazee, walimu kwa wanafunzi, wote walipanga kazi zao kwa kupiga kura.
They cast lots for their duties, all alike, the same for the young as well as the old, the teacher as well as the student.

Now regarding Asaph's sons: The first lot fell to Joseph's family; the second fell to Gedaliah's family, twelve persons in number;

the third fell to Zaccur, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
11 ya nne ikamwangukia Isri, // wanawe na jamaa zake, 12
the fourth fell to Izri, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
12 ya tano ikamwangukia Nethania, wanawe na jamaa zake, 12
the fifth fell to Nethaniah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
13 ya sita ikamwangukia Bukia, wanawe na jamaa zake, 12
the sixth fell to Bukkiah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
14 ya saba ikamwangukia Yesarela, // wanawe na jamaa zake, 12
the seventh fell to Jesarelah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
15 ya nane ikamwangukia Yeshaya, wanawe na jamaa zake, 12
the eighth fell to Jeshaiah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
16 ya tisa ikamwangukia Matania, wanawe na jamaa zake, 12
the ninth fell to Mattaniah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
17 ya kumi ikamwangukia Shimei, wanawe na jamaa zake, 12
the tenth fell to Shimei, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
18 ya kumi na moja ikamwangukia Azareli, // wanawe na jamaa zake, 12
the eleventh fell to Azarel, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
19 ya kumi na mbili ikamwangukia Hashabia, wanawe na jamaa zake, 12
the twelfth fell to Hashabiah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
20 ya kumi na tatu ikamwangukia Shubaeli, wanawe na jamaa zake, 12
the thirteenth fell to Shubael, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
21 ya kumi na nne ikamwangukia Matithia, wanawe na jamaa zake, 12
the fourteenth fell to Mattithiah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

the fifteenth fell to Jerimoth, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
23 Ya kumi na sita ikamwangukia Hanania, wanawe na jamaa zake, 12

24 ya kumi na saba ikamwangukia Yoshbekasha, wanawe na jamaa zake, 12
the seventeenth fell to Joshbekashah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
25 ya kumi na nane ikamwangukia Hanani, wanawe na jamaa zake, 12
the eighteenth fell to Hanani, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
26 ya kumi na tisa ikamwangukia Malothi, wanawe na jamaa zake, 12
the nineteenth fell to Mallothi, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
27 ya ishirini ikamwangukia Eliatha, wanawe na jamaa zake, 12
the twentieth fell to Eliathah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
28 ya ishirini na moja ikamwangukia Hothiri, wanawe na jamaa zake, 12
the twenty-first fell to Hothir, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
29 ya ishirini na mbili ikamwangukia Gidalti, wanawe na jamaa zake, 12
the twenty-second fell to Giddalti, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
30 ya ishirini na tatu ikamwangukia Mahaziothi, wanawe na jamaa zake, 12
the twenty-third fell to Mahazioth, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
31 ya ishirini na nne ikamwangukia Romamti-Ezeri, wanawe na jamaa zake, 12.
the twenty-fourth fell to Romamti-Ezer, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number.
