San Lucas 1
1 Como varios intentos se han hecho para poner en orden el relato de aquellos eventos que tuvieron lugar entre nosotros,
Forsothe for manye men enforceden to ordeyne the tellyng of thingis, whiche ben fillid in vs,
2 Tal como nos lo transmitieron por aquellos que lo vieron desde el principio y fueron predicadores de la palabra,
as thei that seyn atte the bigynnyng, and weren ministris of the word,
3 Yo tambien excelentísimo Teófilo me pareció bien, después de haber hecho la investigación, con gran cuidado, de todas las cosas de los acontecimientos desde su origen, y poner los hechos por escrito.
bitaken, it is seen also to me, hauynge alle thingis diligentli bi ordre, to write to thee,
4 Para que conozcas bien la verdad de aquellas cosas sobre las cuales te enseñaron.
thou best Theofile, that thou knowe the treuthe of tho wordis, of whiche thou art lerned.
5 En los días de Herodes, rey de Judea, había un sacerdote, llamado Zacarías, del orden de Abías; y él tenía una esposa de la familia de Aarón, y su nombre era Elisabet.
In the daies of Eroude, kyng of Judee, ther was a prest, Sakarie bi name, of the sorte of Abia, and his wijf was of the douytris of Aaron, and hir name was Elizabeth.
6 Ellos eran justos a los ojos de Dios, guardando todas las reglas y órdenes de Dios, y no haciendo nada malo.
And bothe weren iust bifor God, goynge in alle the maundementis and iustifiyngis of the Lord, withouten pleynt.
7 Y estaban sin hijos, porque Elisabet era estéril, y ambos eran muy viejos.
And thei hadden no child, for Elizabeth was bareyn, and bothe weren of grete age in her daies.
8 Ahora sucedió que ejerciendo su turno actuando como sacerdote ante Dios según el orden de su clase,
And it bifel, that whanne Zacarie schulde do the office of preesthod, in the ordre of his cours tofor God,
9 Como era costumbre conforme al oficio del sacerdocio, le tocó en suerte entrar al Templo para quemar el incienso al Señor.
aftir the custome of the preesthod, he wente forth bi lot, and entride in to the temple, to encense.
10 Y todas las personas estaban ofreciendo oraciones fuera, en el momento de la quema de incienso.
And al the multitude of the puple was with outforth, and preiede in the our of encensyng.
11 Y vio a un ángel del Señor en su lugar al lado derecho del altar.
And an aungel of the Lord apperide to hym, and stood on the riythalf of the auter of encense.
12 Y Zacarías se turbó cuando lo vio, y vino temor sobre él.
And Zacarie seynge was afraied, and drede fel vpon hym.
13 Pero el ángel dijo: No temas, Zacarías, porque tu oración ha llegado a los oídos de Dios, y tu mujer Elisabet tendrá un hijo, y su nombre será Juan.
And the aungel seide to hym, Zacarie, drede thou not; for thi preyer is herd, and Elizabeth, thi wijf, schal bere to thee a sone, and his name schal be clepid Joon.
14 Y te alegrarás y te deleitarás; y muchas personas tendrán alegría de su nacimiento.
And ioye and gladyng schal be to thee; and many schulen `haue ioye in his natyuyte.
15 Porque él será grande a los ojos del Señor; no tomará vino ni bebida fuerte; y él estará lleno del Espíritu de Dios desde su nacimiento.
For he schal be greet bifor the Lord, and he schal not drynke wyn and sidir, and he schal be fulfillid with the Hooli Goost yit of his modir wombe.
16 Y por él se convertirán muchos de los hijos de Israel al Señor su Dios.
And he schal conuerte many of the children of Israel to her Lord God;
17 Y él irá delante de él, en el espíritu y en el poder de Elías, volviendo los corazones de los padres a sus hijos, y los rebeldes al camino de la prudencia y justicia; para preparar al Señor un pueblo cuyos corazones han sido bien dispuestos.
and he schal go bifor hym in the spirit and the vertu of Helie; and he schal turne the hertis of the fadris in to the sones, and men out of bileue to the prudence of iust men, to make redi a perfit puple to the Lord.
18 Y Zacarías le dijo al ángel: ¿Cómo puedo estar seguro de esto? Porque yo soy un hombre viejo, y mi esposa está muy avanzada en años.
And Zacarie seide to the aungel, Wherof schal Y wite this? for Y am eld, and my wijf hath gon fer in to hir daies.
19 Y respondiendo el ángel, dijo: Yo soy Gabriel, cuyo lugar es delante de Dios; Me ha enviado para decirte estas palabras y darte esta buena noticia.
And the aungel answeride, and seide to hym, For Y am Gabriel, that stonde niy bifor God; and Y am sent to thee to speke, and to euangelize to thee these thingis.
20 Ahora, mira, estarás sin voz ni lenguaje hasta el día en que esto ocurra, porque no has creído en mis palabras, que tendrán efecto en el momento correcto.
And lo! thou schalt be doumbe, and thou schalt not mow speke til in to the dai, in which these thingis schulen be don; for thou hast not bileued to my wordis, whiche schulen be fulfillid in her tyme.
21 Y la gente estaba esperando a Zacarías y se sorprendieron porque estuvo en el Templo por largo tiempo.
And the puple was abidynge Zacarie, and thei wondriden, that he tariede in the temple.
22 Y cuando salió, no pudo decir nada, y se dieron cuenta que había visto una visión en el Templo; y les estaba haciendo señas y permaneció mudo.
And he yede out, and myyte not speke to hem, and thei knewen that he hadde seyn a visioun in the temple. And he bikenyde to hem, and he dwellide stille doumbe.
23 Y cuando terminaron los días de su ministerio en el Templo, regresó a su casa.
And it was don, whanne the daies of his office weren fulfillid, he wente in to his hous.
24 Después de ese tiempo, Elisabet, segura de que iba a ser madre, se mantuvo apartada de los ojos de los hombres durante cinco meses, diciendo:
And aftir these daies Elizabeth, his wijf, conseyuede, and hidde hir fyue monethis, and seide,
25 El Señor me ha hecho esto, porque sus ojos estaban puestos en mí para quitarme la vergüenza. ante los ojos de los hombres.
For so the Lord dide to me in the daies, in whiche he bihelde, to take awei my repreef among men.
26 En el sexto mes, el ángel Gabriel fue enviado por Dios a una ciudad en Galilea, llamada Nazaret,
But in the sixte moneth the aungel Gabriel was sent fro God in to a citee of Galilee, whos name was Nazareth,
27 A una virgen que iba a casarse con un hombre llamado José, de la familia de David; y el nombre de la virgen era María.
to a maidyn, weddid to a man, whos name was Joseph, of the hous of Dauid; and the name of the maidun was Marie.
28 Y el ángel entró a donde ella estaba, y dijo: Paz favorecida de Dios, á la cual se ha dado gracia especial; el Señor está contigo.
And the aungel entride to hir, and seide, Heil, ful of grace; the Lord be with thee; blessid be thou among wymmen.
29 Pero ella se turbó mucho con estas palabras, y se dijo a sí misma: ¿Cuál puede ser el propósito de estas palabras?
And whanne sche hadde herd, sche was troublid in his word, and thouyte what maner salutacioun this was.
30 Y el ángel le dijo: No temas, María, porque tienes la aprobación de Dios.
And the aungel seide to hir, Ne drede thou not, Marie, for thou hast foundun grace anentis God.
31 Y mira, darás a luz un hijo, y su nombre será Jesús.
Lo! thou schalt conceyue in wombe, and schalt bere a sone, and thou schalt clepe his name Jhesus.
32 Él será grande, y será nombrado el Hijo del Altísimo; y el Señor Dios le dará el reino de David, su padre.
This schal be greet, and he schal be clepid the sone of the Hiyeste; and the Lord God schal yeue to hym the seete of Dauid, his fadir,
and he schal regne in the hous of Jacob with outen ende, and of his rewme schal be noon ende. (aiōn g165)
34 Y María le dijo al ángel: ¿Cómo puede ser esto, porque no conozco varón?
And Marie seide to the aungel, On what maner schal this thing be doon, for Y knowe not man?
35 Y respondiendo el ángel, le dijo: El Espíritu Santo vendrá sobre ti, y el poder del Altísimo reposará sobre ti; y el que nacerá, será llamado santo, Hijo de Dios.
And the aungel answeride, and seide to hir, The Hooly Goost schal come fro aboue in to thee, and the vertu of the Hiyeste schal ouerschadewe thee; and therfor that hooli thing that schal be borun of thee, schal be clepid the sone of God.
36 Incluso ahora Elisabet, que es de tu familia, ella ha concebido; y este es el sexto mes para ella, la que llamaban estéril.
And lo! Elizabeth, thi cosyn, and sche also hath conceyued a sone in hir eelde, and this moneth is the sixte to hir that is clepid bareyn;
37 Porque no hay nada imposible para Dios.
for euery word schal not be inpossible anentis God.
38 Y María dijo: Yo soy sierva del Señor; hágase conmigo como me dices. Y el ángel se fue.
And Marie seide, Lo! the handmaydyn of the Lord; be it don to me aftir thi word. And the aungel departide fro hir.
39 Entonces María se levantó y fue rápidamente a las montañas, a una ciudad de Judá;
And Marie roos vp in tho daies, and wente with haaste in to the mounteyns, in to a citee of Judee.
40 Y entró en la casa de Zacarías, y saludó a Elisabet.
And sche entride in to the hous of Zacarie, and grette Elizabeth.
41 Y cuando la voz de María llegó a los oídos de Elisabet, el bebé hizo un movimiento repentino dentro de ella; entonces Elisabeth estaba llena del Espíritu Santo,
And it was don, as Elizabeth herde the salutacioun of Marie, the yong child in hir wombe gladide. And Elizabeth was fulfillid with the Hooli Goost,
42 Y ella dijo a gran voz: Bendita eres entre las mujeres, y bendito es el fruto de tu vientre.
and criede with a greet vois, and seide, Blessid be thou among wymmen, and blessid be the fruyt of thi wombe.
43 ¿Cómo es que la madre de mi Señor viene a mí?
And whereof is this thing to me, that the modir of my Lord come to me?
44 Porque, verdaderamente, cuando el sonido de tu voz vino a mis oídos, el bebé en mi cuerpo hizo un movimiento repentino de alegría.
For lo! as the voice of thi salutacioun was maad in myn eeris, the yong child gladide in ioye in my wombe.
45 Dichosa la que creyó, porque se cumplira lo que le fue dicho por parte del Señor.
And blessid be thou, that hast bileued, for thilke thingis that ben seid of the Lord to thee, schulen be parfitli don.
46 Y María dijo: Mi alma glorifica a Dios;
And Marie seide, Mi soule magnyfieth the Lord,
47 Mi espíritu se alegra en Dios mi Salvador.
and my spirit hath gladid in God, myn helthe.
48 Porque ha tenido compasión de su sierva, aunque es pobre y humilde: desde ahora, todas las generaciones me dirán bienaventurada.
For he hath biholdun the mekenesse of his handmaidun.
49 Porque él poderoso me ha hecho grandes cosas; y Santo es su Nombre.
For lo! of this alle generaciouns schulen seie that Y am blessid. For he that is myyti hath don to me grete thingis, and his name is hooli.
50 Su misericordia es para todas las generaciones a los que le temen.
And his mercy is fro kynrede in to kynredes, to men that dreden hym.
51 Con su brazo ha hecho actos de poder; esparció a los soberbios en el pensamiento de sus corazones.
He made myyt in his arme, he scaterede proude men with the thouyte of his herte.
52 Ha derribado reyes de sus tronos, levantando en alto a los humildes.
He sette doun myyti men fro sete, and enhaunside meke men.
53 Los que no tenían comida los llenaban de cosas buenas; a los hombres ricos los despachó sin nada en sus manos;
He hath fulfillid hungri men with goodis, and he hath left riche men voide.
54 Su ayuda ha dado a Israel, su siervo, y no se olvidó de tratarlo con misericordia,
He, hauynge mynde of his mercy, took Israel, his child;
55 Como él dio su palabra a nuestros padres. Para con Abraham y su descendencia para siempre. (aiōn g165)
as he hath spokun to oure fadris, to Abraham and to his seed, in to worldis. (aiōn g165)
56 Y María estuvo con ella por cerca de tres meses y luego regresó a su casa.
And Marie dwellide with hir, as it were thre monethis, and turnede ayen in to hir hous.
57 Ahora era tiempo de que Elisabeth diera a luz, y ella tuvo un hijo.
But the tyme of beryng child was fulfillid to Elizabeth, and sche bare a sone.
58 Y llegó a oídos de sus vecinos y parientes que el Señor había sido muy bueno con ella, y ellos tomaron parte en su alegría.
And the neiyboris and cosyns of hir herden, that the Lord hadde magnyfied his mercy with hir; and thei thankiden hym.
59 Y al octavo día vinieron a circuncidar al niño, y le hubiesen dado el nombre de Zacarías, el nombre de su padre;
And it was don in the eiyte dai, thei camen to circumcide the child; and thei clepiden hym Zacarie, bi the name of his fadir.
60 Pero su madre respondió y dijo: No, su nombre es Juan.
And his moder answeride, and seide, Nay, but he schal be clepid Joon.
61 Y dijeron: Ninguno de tus parientes tiene ese nombre.
And thei seiden to hir, For no man is in thi kynrede, that is clepid this name.
62 E hicieron señales a su padre, para saber qué nombre le iban a dar.
And thei bikeneden to his fadir, what he wolde that he were clepid.
63 Y envió a escribir y poner por escrito: Su nombre es Juan; y todos estaban sorprendidos.
And he axynge a poyntil, wroot, seiynge, Joon is his name.
64 Y de inmediato su boca estaba abierta y volvió a hablar y alabó a Dios.
And alle men wondriden. And anoon his mouth was openyd, and his tunge, and he spak, and blesside God.
65 Y vino temor a todos los que vivían en sus alrededores; y se habló mucho de todas estas cosas en toda la región montañosa de Judea.
And drede was maad on alle her neiyboris, and alle these wordis weren pupplischid on alle the mounteyns of Judee.
66 Y todos los que tenían noticias de ellos, los tuvieron en mente, y dijeron: ¿Qué será este niño? Porque la mano del Señor estaba con él.
And alle men that herden puttiden in her herte, and seiden, What maner child schal this be? For the hoond of the Lord was with hym.
67 Y su padre, Zacarías, estaba lleno del Espíritu Santo, y con voz de profeta dijo estas palabras:
And Zacarie, his fadir, was fulfillid with the Hooli Goost, and prophesiede,
68 Bendito sea el Señor, el Dios de Israel, porque ha venido a su pueblo y lo ha hecho libre,
and seide, Blessid be the Lord God of Israel, for he hath visitid, and maad redempcioun of his puple.
69 Levantando un poderoso salvador para nosotros en la casa de su siervo David,
And he hath rerid to vs an horn of heelthe in the hous of Dauid, his child.
As he spak bi the mouth of hise hooli prophetis, that weren fro the world. (aiōn g165)
71 Salvación de los que están contra nosotros, y de las manos de aquellos que nos odian;
Helthe fro oure enemyes, and fro the hoond of alle men that hatiden vs.
72 Para hacer actos de misericordia que prometió a nuestros padres y tener en cuenta su santa palabra,
To do merci with oure fadris, and to haue mynde of his hooli testament.
73 El juramento que le hizo a Abraham, nuestro padre, Que nos había de conceder,
The greet ooth that he swoor to Abraham, oure fadir, to yyue hym silf to vs.
74 Para que nosotros, siendo libres del temor de los que están en contra de nosotros, podamos darle adoración,
That we with out drede delyuered fro the hoond of oure enemyes,
75 En justicia y vida santa delante de él todos nuestros días.
serue to hym, in hoolynesse and riytwisnesse bifor hym in alle oure daies.
76 Y tú, niño, serás llamado profeta del Altísimo; irás delante de la presencia del Señor, para preparar sus caminos;
And thou, child, schalt be clepid the prophete of the Hiyest; for thou schalt go bifor the face of the Lord, to make redi hise weies.
77 Para dar conocimiento de la salvación a su pueblo, por el perdón de los pecados,
To yyue scyence of helthe to his puple, in to remyssioun of her synnes;
78 Por la entrañable misericordias de nuestro Dios, nos trae de lo alto del sol, un nuevo dia,
bi the inwardnesse of the merci of oure God, in the whiche he spryngynge vp fro an hiy hath visitid vs.
79 Para dar luz a los que están en las tinieblas, y en sombra de la muerte, para que nuestros pies puedan ser guiados en el camino de la paz.
To yyue liyt to hem that sitten in derknessis and in schadewe of deeth; to dresse oure feet in to the weie of pees.
80 Y el niño crecía y se fortalecía en el espíritu; y él vivió en el desierto hasta el día en que se dio a conocer a Israel.
And the child wexide, and was coumfortid in spirit, and was in desert placis `til to the dai of his schewing to Israel.
