Jueces 19
1 En aquellos días, cuando no había rey en Israel, cierto levita vivía en las partes más alejadas de la región montañosa de Efraín, y obtuvo para sí mujer concubina de Belén de judá.
And it came to pass in those days, when there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite sojourning on the side of mount Ephraim, who took to him a concubine out of Bethlehemjudah.
2 Y su concubina le fue infiel, y se fue de él a la casa de su padre en Belén-Judá, y estuvo allí durante cuatro meses.
And his concubine played the whore against him, and went away from him unto her father's house to Bethlehemjudah, and was there four whole months.
3 Entonces su esposo se levantó y fue tras ella, con el propósito de hablarle amablemente y llevarla de regreso con él; él tenía consigo a un siervo y dos asnos: y ella lo llevó a la casa de su padre, y su padre, cuando lo vio, se acercó a él con alegría.
And her husband arose, and went after her, to speak friendly unto her, and to bring her again, having his servant with him, and a couple of asses: and she brought him into her father's house: and when the father of the damsel saw him, he rejoiced to meet him.
4 Y su suegro, el padre de la joven, lo mantuvo allí durante tres días; y comieron y bebieron, y tomaron allí su descanso.
And his father in law, the damsel's father, retained him; and he abode with him three days: so they did eat and drink, and lodged there.
5 Al cuarto día se levantaron temprano por la mañana y él se preparó para irse; pero el padre de la joven le dijo a su yerno: Toma un poco de comida para mantener tu fuerza, y luego sigue tu camino.
And it came to pass on the fourth day, when they arose early in the morning, that he rose up to depart: and the damsel's father said unto his son in law, Comfort your heart with a morsel of bread, and afterward go your way.
6 Así que se sentaron y comieron y bebieron, los dos juntos; y el padre de la joven le dijo al hombre: “Si es de tu agrado, descansa aquí esta noche y deja que tu corazón se alegre”.
And they sat down, and did eat and drink both of them together: for the damsel's father had said unto the man, Be content, I pray you, and tarry all night, and let your heart be merry.
7 Y el hombre se levantó para irse, pero su suegro no lo dejó ir, por lo que volvió a descansar allí por la noche.
And when the man rose up to depart, his father in law urged him: therefore he lodged there again.
8 Luego, temprano en la mañana del quinto día, se levantó para irse; pero el padre de la joven dijo: mantén tu fuerza; así que los dos comieron, y el hombre y su concubina y su sirviente no se fueron hasta después de la mitad del día.
And he arose early in the morning on the fifth day to depart; and the damsel's father said, Comfort your heart, I pray you. And they tarried until afternoon, and they did eat both of them.
9 Y cuando se levantaron para irse, su suegro, el padre de la joven, le dijo: Ahora va a anochecer, así que no vayas esta noche; Mira, el día casi se ha ido; descansa aquí y deja que tu corazón se alegre, y mañana temprano, regresa a tu casa.
And when the man rose up to depart, he, and his concubine, and his servant, his father in law, the damsel's father, said unto him, Behold, now the day draws toward evening, I pray you tarry all night: behold, the day grows to an end, lodge here, that your heart may be merry; and tomorrow get you early on your way, that you may go home.
10 Pero el hombre no se quedaría allí esa noche, se levantó se fue, y llegó hasta enfrente de Jebús que es Jerusalén; y tenía consigo los dos asnos, listos para viajar, y su concubina.
But the man would not tarry that night, but he rose up and departed, and came opposite to Jebus, which is Jerusalem; and there were with him two asses saddled, his concubine also was with him.
11 Cuando se acercaron a Jebús, el día estaba muy lejos; y el criado le dijo a su amo: Ahora, salgamos de nuestro camino hacia esta ciudad de los jebuseos y descansemos allí por la noche.
And when they were by Jebus, the day was far spent; and the servant said unto his master, Come, I pray you, and let us turn in into this city of the Jebusites, and lodge in it.
12 Pero su amo le dijo: No saldremos de nuestro camino hacia un pueblo extraño, cuyo pueblo no es de los hijos de Israel; Pero nos vamos a Guibeá.
And his master said unto him, We will not turn aside here into the city of a stranger, that is not of the children of Israel; we will pass over to Gibeah.
13 Y dijo a su criado: Ven, vamos a uno de estos lugares, parando por la noche en Guibeá o Rama.
And he said unto his servant, Come, and let us draw near to one of these places to lodge all night, in Gibeah, or in Ramah.
14 Y siguieron su camino; y el sol se puso cuando estaban cerca de Guibeá en la tierra de Benjamín.
And they passed on and went their way; and the sun went down upon them when they were by Gibeah, which belongs to Benjamin.
15 Y salieron de la carretera allí con el propósito de detenerse para pasar la noche en Guibeá: y él entró, sentándose en la calle de la ciudad, porque nadie los llevó a su casa esa noche.
And they turned aside thither, to go in and to lodge in Gibeah: and when he went in, he sat him down in a street of the city: for there was no man that took them into his house to lodging.
16 Cuando anochecía, vieron a un anciano regresar de su trabajo en los campos; él era de la región montañosa de Efraín y vivía en Guibea, pero los hombres del lugar eran benjamitas.
And, behold, there came an old man from his work out of the field at even, which was also of mount Ephraim; and he sojourned in Gibeah: but the men of the place were Benjamites.
17 Y cuando vio al viajero en la calle del pueblo, el anciano dijo: ¿A dónde vas? y de donde vienes?
And when he had lifted up his eyes, he saw a travelling man in the street of the city: and the old man said, Where go you? and whence come you?
18 Y le dijo: Venimos de Belén de judá, a las partes más alejadas de la región montañosa de Efraín, de donde soy, y fui a Belén de judá, ahora voy a la casa del Señor, pero no hay ningún hombre que me lleve a su casa.
And he said unto him, We are passing from Bethlehemjudah toward the side of mount Ephraim; from thence am I: and I went to Bethlehemjudah, but I am now going to the house of the LORD; and there is no man that receives me to house.
19 Pero tenemos pasto seco y alimento para nuestros asnos, así como pan y vino para mí, y para tu sierva, y para el joven que está con nosotros. No necesitamos nada.
Yet there is both straw and animal food for our asses; and there is bread and wine also for me, and for your handmaid, and for the young man which is with your servants: there is no lack of any thing.
20 Y el anciano dijo: Paz sea contigo; Deja que todas tus necesidades sean de mi cuidado; Solo que no descanses en la calle.
And the old man said, Peace be with you; howsoever let all your wants lie upon me; only lodge not in the street.
21 Entonces los llevó a su casa y les dio de comer; y después de lavarse los pies, comieron y bebieron.
So he brought him into his house, and gave animal food unto the asses: and they washed their feet, and did eat and drink.
22 Mientras disfrutaban de la comida, los hombres perversos del pueblo que entraron en la casa, dando golpes en la puerta; y dijeron al anciano, el amo de la casa: Envía al hombre que vino a tu casa, para tener relaciones sexuales con el.
Now as they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, beset the house round about, and beat at the door, and spoke to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into your house, that we may know him.
23 Entonces el hombre, el amo de la casa, salió a ellos y les dijo: No, hermanos míos, no hagan esto malo; este hombre ha venido a mi casa, y ustedes no deben hacerle este mal.
And the man, the master of the house, went out unto them, and said unto them, Nay, my brethren, nay, I pray you, do not so wickedly; seeing that this man has come into mine house, do not this folly.
24 Mira, aquí está mi hija, una virgen, y la concubina de este hombre: los enviaré para que las ultrajen y hagan con ellas lo que quieran. Pero no hagas tal vergüenza a este hombre.
Behold, here is my daughter a maiden, and his concubine; them I will bring out now, and humble all of you them, and do with them what seems good unto you: but unto this man do not so vile a thing.
25 Pero los hombres no le oyeron; de modo que el hombre tomó a su concubina y la envió a ellos; y la tomaron por la fuerza, y la violaron toda la noche hasta la mañana; y al amanecer, la dejaron ir.
But the men would not hearken to him: so the man took his concubine, and brought her forth unto them; and they had sexual contact with her, and abused her all the night until the morning: and when the day began to spring, they let her go.
26 Al amanecer del día llegó la mujer, y, cayendo a la puerta de la casa del hombre donde estaba su amo, fue tendida allí hasta que amaneció.
Then came the woman in the dawning of the day, and fell down at the door of the man's house where her lord was, till it was light.
27 Por la mañana, su amo se levantó y, abriendo la puerta de la casa, salió para seguir su camino; y vio a su concubina tendida en la tierra junto a la puerta de la casa con las manos en el escalón.
And her lord rose up in the morning, and opened the doors of the house, and went out to go his way: and, behold, the woman his concubine was fallen down at the door of the house, and her hands were upon the threshold.
28 Y él le dijo: Levántate, y vámonos; pero no hubo respuesta; así que la levantó y la puso en él asno, y siguió su camino y fue a su casa.
And he said unto her, Up, and let us be going. But none answered. Then the man took her up upon an ass, and the man rose up, and got him unto his place.
29 Y cuando llegó a su casa, tomó su cuchillo y tomó a la mujer, y la partió hueso por hueso en doce partes, que envió a través de todo Israel.
And when he was come into his house, he took a knife, and laid hold on his concubine, and divided her, together with her bones, into twelve pieces, and sent her into all the coasts of Israel.
30 Y todo el que lo veía, decía: ¿Se ha hecho algo así desde el día en que los hijos de Israel salieron de Egipto? ¿para este día? Piénsalo, considéralo y da tu opinión al respecto.
And it was so, that all that saw it said, There was no such deed done nor seen from the day that the children of Israel came up out of the land of Egypt unto this day: consider of it, take advice, and speak your minds.
