Génesis 37
1 Y Jacob estaba viviendo en la tierra donde su padre se había hecho un lugar, en la tierra de Canaán.
Forsothe Jacob dwellide in the lond of Canaan, in which his fadir was a pilgrym; and these weren the generaciouns of hym.
2 Estas son las generaciones de Jacob: José, un niño de diecisiete años, estaba cuidando el rebaño, junto con sus hermanos, los hijos de Bilha y Zilpa, las esposas de su padre; y José le contó la mala fama de ellos a su padre.
Joseph whanne he was of sixtene yeer, yit a child, kepte a flok with hise britheren, and was with the sones of Bala and Zelfa, wyues of his fadir; and he accuside his britheren at the fadir of `the worste synne.
3 Ahora bien, el amor que Israel tuvo por José fue mayor que su amor por todos sus otros hijos, porque lo había procreado cuando era viejo: y le hizo una túnica de muchos colores para él.

4 Y como sus hermanos vieron que José era más querido por su padre que todos los demás, se llenaron de odio hacia él, y no le dijeron una palabra amable.

5 Ahora José tuvo un sueño, y le contó a sus hermanos, lo que hizo que su odio fuera más grande que nunca.
And it bifelde that he telde to hise britheren a sweuene seyn, which cause was `the seed of more hatrede.
6 Y él les dijo: Permítanme contarles la historia de mi sueño.
And Joseph seide to his britheren, Here ye the sweuene which Y seiy,
7 Estábamos en el campo, juntando manojos de grano, y mi manojo de grano se levantó en posición vertical, y los de ustedes vinieron y se postraron alrededor sobre la tierra ante mi manojo.
Y gesside that we bounden to gidere handfuls, and that as myn handful roos, and stood, and that youre handfuls stoden aboute and worschipiden myn handful.
8 Y sus hermanos le dijeron: ¿Eres tú nuestro Rey? ¿Tendrás autoridad sobre nosotros? Y debido a su sueño y sus palabras, su odio por él se hizo más grande que nunca.
Hise britheren answerden, Whether thou shalt be oure kyng, ethir we shulen be maad suget to thi lordschip? Therfor this cause of sweuenys and wordis mynystride the nurschyng of enuye, and of hatrede.
9 Entonces él tuvo otro sueño, y dio a sus hermanos un informe de él, diciendo: He tenido otro sueño: el sol, la luna y once estrellas me dieron honor.
Also Joseph seiy another sweuene, which he telde to the britheren, and seide, Y seiy bi a sweuene that as the sunne, and moone, and enleuen sterris worschipiden me.
10 Y dio aviso de esto a su padre y a sus hermanos; pero su padre protestando dijo: ¿Qué clase de sueño es este? ¿tu y tu madre y tus hermanos vamos a postrarnos sobre la tierra ante ti?
And whanne he hadde teld this sweuene to his fadir, and britheren, his fadir blamyde him, and seide, What wole this sweuene to it silf which thou hast seyn? Whether Y and thi modir, and thi britheren, schulen worschipe thee on erthe?
11 Y sus hermanos estaban llenos de envidia; pero su padre mantuvo sus palabras en mente.
Therfor hise britheren hadden enuye to hym. Forsothe the fadir bihelde pryuely the thing,
12 Y sus hermanos fueron a cuidar el rebaño de su padre en Siquem.
and whanne his britheren dwelliden in Sichem, aboute flockis of the fadir `to be kept,
13 Entonces Israel dijo a José: ¿No son tus hermanos con las ovejas en Siquem? Ven, te enviaré a ellos. Y él le dijo: Heme aquí.
Israel seide to Joseph, Thi britheren kepen scheep in Sichymys; come thou, Y schal sende thee to hem.
14 Y él le dijo: Ve ahora, y mira si tus hermanos están bien y cómo está el ganado; luego regresa y dame la palabra. Entonces lo envió fuera del valle de Hebrón, y vino a Siquem.
And whanne Joseph answerde, Y am redi, Israel seide, Go thou, and se whether alle thingis ben esi anentis thi britheren, and scheep; and telle thou to me what is doon. He was sent fro the valey of Ebron, and cam into Sichem;
15 Y un hombre lo vio deambular por el campo, y le dijo: ¿Qué estás buscando?
and a man foond hym errynge in the feeld, and `the man axide, what he souyte.
16 Y él dijo: Estoy buscando a mis hermanos; por favor dame la palabra de dónde están guardando su rebaño.
And he answerde, Y seke my britheren, schewe thou to me where thei kepten flockis.
17 Y el hombre dijo: Se han ido de aquí, porque dijeron en mi presencia: Vayamos a Dotán. Entonces José los siguió y los subió a Dotan.
And the man seide to hym, Thei yeden awei fro this place; forsothe Y herde hem seiynge, Go we into Dothaym. And Joseph yede aftir his britheren, and foond hem in Dothaym.
18 Pero ellos lo vieron cuando estaba lejos, y antes de acercarse a ellos, hicieron una señal secreta contra él para matarlo;
And whanne thei hadden seyn hym afer, bifor that he neiyede to hem,
19 Diciéndose el uno al otro, Mira, aquí viene ese soñador.
thei thouyten to sle hym, and spaken to gidere, Lo! the dremere cometh, come ye,
20 Vamos a matarlo y poner su cuerpo en uno de estos pozos, y diremos: una bestia malvada lo ha matado; entonces veremos qué es lo que sucede con sus sueños.
sle we hym, and sende we into an eld sisterne, and we schulen seie, A wielde beeste ful wickid hath deuourid hym; and thanne it schal appere what hise dremes profiten to hym.
21 Pero Rubén, oyendo estas palabras, lo libró de sus manos, diciendo: No tomemos su vida.
Sotheli Ruben herde this, and enforside to delyuere hym fro her hondis,
22 No lo pongas a una muerte violenta, sino échenlo en un de los pozos; esto dijo para salvarle la vida de sus manos, con el propósito de llevarlo nuevamente a su padre.
and seide, Sle we not the lijf of hym, nether schede we out his blood, but caste ye hym into an eeld cisterne, which is in the wildirnesse, and kepe ye youre hondis gilteles. Forsothe he seide this, willynge to delyuere hym fro her hondis, and to yelde to his fadir.
23 Y cuando llegó José a sus hermanos, le quitaron la túnica de colores que tenía puesto;
Therfor anoon as Joseph cam to hise britheren, thei dispuyliden hym of the coote, doun to the heele, and of many colours, and senten into the eeld cisterne,
24 Y ellos lo tomaron y lo pusieron en el pozo; ahora el pozo no tenía agua.
that hadde no water.
25 Y sentándose ellos, tomaron la comida; y al levantar los ojos, vieron a un grupo de ismaelitas que viajaba, que venían de Galaad en camino a Egipto, con especias y perfumes en sus camellos.
And thei saten `to ete breed; and thei sien that Ismaelitis weigoers camen fro Galaad, and that her camels baren swete smellynge spiceries, and `rosyn, and stacten, into Egipt.
26 Y Judá dijo a sus hermanos: ¿Qué provecho hay en matar a nuestro hermano y en cubrir su sangre?
Therfor Judas seide to hise britheren, What schal it profite to vs, if we schulen sle oure brother, and schulen hide his blood?
27 En vez de matarlo, lo vendemos a los ismaelitas, porque él es nuestro hermano, nuestra carne. Y sus hermanos lo escucharon.
It is betere that he be seeld to Ismalitis, and oure hondis be not defoulid, for he is oure brother and fleisch. The britheren assentiden to these wordis;
28 Y algunos mercaderes de Madián pasaron; y sacando a José del pozo, lo dieron a los ismaelitas por veinte monedas de plata, y lo llevaron a Egipto.
and whanne marchauntis of Madian passiden forth, thei drowen hym out of the cisterne, and seelden hym to Ismaelitis, for thriytti platis of siluer; whiche ledden hym in to Egipt.
29 Y cuando Rubén volvió al pozo, José no estaba allí; y desgarró la ropa,
And Ruben turnede ayen to the cisterne, and foond not the child;
30 Regresó a donde estaban sus hermanos y dijo: El niño se ha ido; ¿Qué voy a hacer?
and he to-rente his closis, and he yede to hise britheren, and seide, The child apperith not, and whidir schal Y go?
31 Entonces tomaron el manto de José, y le pusieron un poco de la sangre de un cabrito que habían matado,
Forsothe thei token his coote, and dippiden in the blood of a kide, which thei hadden slayn; and senten men that baren to the fadir,
32 Y tomaron el abrigo á su padre, y dijeron: Hemos hallado esto; ¿es la túnica de su hijo o no?
and seiden, We han founde this coote, se, whether it is the coote of thi sone, ether nai.
33 Y viendo que era, dijo: Es la túnica de mi hijo; una malvada bestia lo ha matado; sin duda, José ha llegado a un final cruel.
And whanne the fader hadde knowe it, he seide, It is the coote of my sone, a wielde beeste ful wickid hath ete hym, a beeste hath deuourid Joseph.
34 Entonces Jacob, dando señales de dolor, se vistió de cilicio y siguió llorando por su hijo día tras día.
And he to-rente his clothis, and he was clothid with an heire, and biweilide his sone in myche tyme.
35 Y todos sus hijos y todas sus hijas vinieron para consolarlo, pero él no se consoló, diciendo seguiré de luto hasta que muera y me reúna con los muertos con mi hijo. Tan grande fue el dolor de su padre por él. (Sheol h7585)
Sothely whanne hise fre children weren gaderid to gidere, that thei schulden peese the sorewe of the fadir, he nolde take counfort, but seide, Y schal go doun in to helle, and schal biweile my sone. And the while Jacob contynude in wepyng, (Sheol h7585)
36 Y en Egipto los varones de Madián le dieron por precio a Potifar, capitán de alto rango en la casa de Faraón.
Madianytis seelden Joseph into Egipt to Putifar, chast `and onest seruaunt of Farao, maistir of the chyualrie.
