Ezequiel 20
1 En el séptimo año, en el décimo día del mes, sucedió que algunos de los hombres responsables de Israel vinieron a recibir instrucciones del Señor y se sentaron frente a mí.
And it cometh to pass, in the seventh year, in the fifth [month], in the tenth of the month, come in have certain of the elders of Israel to seek Jehovah, and they sit before me;
2 Entonces vino a mí la palabra del Señor, diciendo:
and there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,
3 Hijo de hombre, di a los hombres responsables de Israel: Esto es lo que el Señor ha dicho: ¿Has venido a recibir instrucciones de mí? Por mi vida, dice el Señor, no recibirás instrucciones de mí.
'Son of man, speak with the elders of Israel, and thou hast said unto them, Thus said the Lord Jehovah: To seek Me are ye coming in? I live — I am not sought by you — an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.
4 ¿Los juzgarás, oh hijo de hombre, los juzgarás? Hazles saber las abominaciones de sus padres,
Dost thou judge them? Dost thou judge, son of man? The abominations of their fathers cause them to know,
5 Y diles: Esto es lo que ha dicho el Señor su Dios: el día en que escogí a Israel para mí, cuando hice un juramento a la simiente de la familia de Jacob, y les di conocimiento de mí mismo en el tierra de Egipto, diciéndoles con juramento: Yo soy El Señor su Dios;
and thou hast said unto them: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: In the day of My fixing on Israel, I lift up My hand, To the seed of the house of Jacob, And am known to them in the land of Egypt, And I lift up My hand to them, Saying, I [am] Jehovah your God.
6 En ese día di mi juramento de sacarlos de la tierra de Egipto a una tierra que había estado buscando, una tierra que fluye leche y miel, la gloria de todas las tierras.
In that day I did lift up My hand to them, To bring them forth from the land of Egypt, Unto a land that I spied out for them, Flowing with milk and honey, A beauty it [is] to all the lands,
7 Y yo les dije: Que cada uno de ustedes tiren las cosas repugnantes a las que se dirigen sus ojos, y no se contaminen con las imágenes de Egipto; Yo soy el Señor su Dios supremo.
And I say unto them, Let each cast away the detestable things of his eyes, And with the idols of Egypt be not defiled, I [am] Jehovah your God.
8 Pero ellos se rebelaron contra mí, y no me escucharon; no tiraron las cosas repugnantes a las que estaban dirigidos sus ojos, ni abandonaron las imágenes de Egipto; entonces dije que iba a derramar mi furor para darle pleno efecto a mi ira contra ellos en la tierra de Egipto.
And — they rebel against Me, And have not been willing to hearken to Me, Each, the detestable things of their eyes, They have not cast away, And the idols of Egypt have not forsaken, And I say — to pour out My fury on them, To complete Mine anger against them, In the midst of the land of Egypt.
9 Y estaba actuando por el honor de mi nombre, para que no quedara mal ante los ojos de las naciones entre las cuales estaban, y ante cuyos ojos les di mi conocimiento, sacándolos de la tierra de egipto.
And I do [it] for My name's sake, Not to pollute [it] before the eyes of the nations, In whose midst they [are], Before whose eyes I became known to them, To bring them out from the land of Egypt.
10 Entonces los hice salir de la tierra de Egipto y los llevé a la tierra baldía.
And I bring them out of the land of Egypt, And I bring them in unto the wilderness,
11 Les di mis reglas y les dejé claras mis órdenes, que, si un hombre las cumple, serán para él vida.
And I give to them My statutes, And my judgments I caused them to know, Which the man who doth — liveth by them.
12 Y además, les di mis sábados, para que fueran una señal entre ellos y yo, para que quede claro que yo, los santifico, soy el Señor.
And also My sabbaths I have given to them, To be for a sign between Me and them, To know that I [am] Jehovah their sanctifier.
13 Pero los hijos de Israel se rebelaron contra mí en la tierra en el desierto; no fueron guiados por mis reglas, y rechazaron mis órdenes, que, si un hombre las cumple, serán para él vida; y no tenían respeto por mis sábados; entonces dije derramaré mi ira contra ellos en el desierto y les pondré fin.
And — rebel against me do the house of Israel in the wilderness, In My statutes they have not walked, And My judgments they have despised, Which the man who doth — liveth by them. And My sabbaths they have greatly polluted, And I say to pour out My fury on them in the wilderness, to consume them.
14 Y actuaba por el honor de mi nombre, para que no fuera profanado a los ojos de las naciones, que habían visto cómo los había sacado de Egipto.
And I do [it] for My name's sake, Not to pollute [it] before the eyes of the nations, Before whose eyes I brought them forth.
15 Y además, les di mi juramento en el desierto, que no los llevaría a la tierra que yo les había dado, una tierra que fluye leche y miel, la gloria de todas las tierras;
And also, I, I have lifted up My hand to them in the wilderness, Not to bring them in to the land that I had given, Flowing with milk and honey, A beauty it [is] to all the lands,
16 Porque rechazaron mis órdenes y no se guiaron por mis reglas, y no respetaron mis sábados, porque sus corazones fueron tras sus imágenes.
Because against My judgments they did kick, And in My statutes they have not walked, And My sabbaths they have polluted, For after their idols their heart is going.
17 Pero aun así, mi ojo tenía piedad de ellos, los evité de la destrucción y no los destruí por completo en el desierto.
And Mine eye hath pity on them — against destroying them, And I have not made of them an end in the wilderness.
18 Y les dije a sus hijos en el desierto: No se guíen por los estatutos de sus padres, no sigan sus órdenes ni se contaminen con sus imágenes.
And I say to their sons in the wilderness: In the statutes of your fathers ye walk not, And their judgments ye do not observe, And with their idols ye are not defiled.
19 Yo soy el Señor su Dios; Anden por mis estatutos y guarden mis estatutos.
I [am] Jehovah your God, in My statutes walk, And My judgments observe, and do them,
20 Y santifiquen mis sábados; y serán una señal entre ustedes y yo para que les quede claro que yo soy el Señor, su Dios.
And My sabbaths sanctify, And they have been for a sign between Me and you, To know that I, Jehovah, [am] your God.
21 Pero los hijos de ellos se rebelaron contra mí; no se guiaban por mis reglas, y no las cumplían ni practicaban mis órdenes, que, si un hombre las cumple, serán para él vida; y no tenían ningún respeto por mis sábados, entonces dije descargaré mi ira contra ellos en el desierto para calmar mi furor.
And — the sons rebel against Me, In My statutes they have not walked, And My judgments they have not observed — to do them, Which the man who doth — liveth by them. My sabbaths they have polluted, And I say to pour out My fury upon them, To complete Mine anger against them in the wilderness.
22 Y contuve mi mano, por el honor de mi nombre, para que no se profanara a los ojos de las naciones, que habían visto cómo los había sacado.
And I have turned back My hand, And I do [it] for My name's sake, Not to pollute [it] before the eyes of the nations, Before whose eyes I brought them out.
23 Además, les di mi juramento en el desierto que los enviaría vagando entre las naciones, dispersándolos entre los países;
I also, I have lifted up My hand to them in the wilderness, To scatter them among nations, And to spread them through lands.
24 Porque no cumplieron mis mandamientos, sino que rechazaron mis reglas, y no habían respetado mis sábados, y sus ojos estaban dirigidos a las imágenes de sus padres.
Because My judgments they have not done, And My statutes they have despised, And My sabbaths they have polluted, And after idols of their fathers have their eyes been.
25 Y además, les di reglas que no eran buenas y órdenes en las que no había vida para ellos;
And I also, I have given to them statutes not good, And judgments by which they do not live.
26 Los hice impuros en las ofrendas que dieron, haciendo que cada primer niño pasara por el fuego, para dejarlos estupefactos; con él propósito de que supieran que yo soy él Señor.
And I defile them by their own gifts, By causing to pass away every opener of a womb, So that I make them desolate, So that they know that I [am] Jehovah.
27 Por esta causa, hijo de hombre, di a los hijos de Israel: Esto es lo que el Señor Dios ha dicho: En esto tus padres han blasfemado mi nombre al rebelarse contra mí.
Therefore, speak unto the house of Israel, son of man, and thou hast said unto them, Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Still in this have your fathers reviled Me, In their committing against Me a trespass.
28 Porque cuando los llevé a la tierra que juré darles, vieron cada colina alta y cada árbol frondoso e hicieron allí sus ofrendas, moviéndome a la ira por sus ofrendas; y allí el dulce olor de sus ofrendas se elevó y sus ofrendas líquidas derramaron.
And I bring them in unto the land, That I did lift up My hand to give to them, And they see every high hill, and every thick tree, And they sacrifice there their sacrifices, And give there the provocation of their offering, And make there their sweet fragrance, And they pour out there their libations.
29 Entonces les dije: ¿Cuál es este lugar alto donde no tienes ningún propósito? Y se llama Bama hasta nuestros días.
And I say unto them: What [is] the high place whither ye are going in? And its name is called 'high place' to this day.
30 Por esta causa, di a los hijos de Israel: Esto es lo que el Señor ha dicho: ¿Porque quieren hacerse inmundos como lo hicieron sus padres? ¿Se prostituyeron tras sus ídolos asquerosos?
Therefore, say unto the house of Israel: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: In the way of your fathers are ye defiled? And after their detestable things go a-whoring?
31 Y cuando das tus ofrendas, haciendo que tus hijos pasen por el fuego, se hacen impuros con todas tus imágenes hasta el día de hoy; ¿Y vendrás a mí por direcciones, oh hijos de Israel? Por mi vida, dice el Señor Dios, no obtendrás dirección de mí.
And in the offering of your gifts, In causing your sons to pass through fire, Ye are defiled by all your idols to this day, And I am sought by you, O house of Israel! I live — an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, I am not sought by you.
32 Y lo que viene a tu mente nunca tendrá lugar; cuando digas, seremos como las naciones, como las familias de los países, que adoran la madera y la piedra;
And that which is going up on your mind, It is not at all — in that ye are saying: We will be as the nations, as the families of the lands, To serve wood and stone.
33 Por mi vida, dice el Señor, verdaderamente, con una mano fuerte y con el brazo extendido y derramaré ira ardiente, seré rey sobre ustedes:
I live — an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, Do not I, with a strong hand, And with a stretched-out arm, And with fury poured out — rule over you?
34 Y te sacaré de los pueblos y te sacaré de los países en los que estás vagando, con una mano fuerte y con el brazo extendido y con la ira ardiente:
And I have brought you forth from the peoples, And assembled you from the lands In which ye have been scattered, With a strong hand and with a stretched-out arm, And with fury poured out.
35 Y te llevaré a la tierra de los pueblos, y allí abordaré la causa contigo cara a cara.
And I have brought you in unto the wilderness of the peoples, And have been judged with you there face to face.
36 Desde la misma manera que tomé la causa con sus padres en la tierra baldía de la tierra de Egipto, así lo haré con ustedes, dice el Señor.
As I was judged with your fathers, In the wilderness of the land of Egypt, So I am judged with you, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.
37 Y te haré pasar por debajo de la vara y los haré pasar por el vínculo del pacto.
And I have caused you to pass under the rod, And brought you into the bond of the covenant,
38 Limpiando entre ustedes a todos aquellos rebeldes y que están pecando contra mí; Los sacaré de la tierra donde viven, pero no entrarán en la tierra de Israel y sabrán que yo soy el Señor.
And cleared out from you the rebels, And them transgressing against Me, From the land of their sojournings I bring them out, And unto the land of Israel they come not, And ye have known that I [am] Jehovah.
39 En cuanto a ustedes, oh hijos de Israel, el Señor Dios ha dicho: vayan y adoren sus ídolos y después ciertamente me escucharan, y que mi santo nombre ya no sea profanado por sus ofrendas y sus imágenes.
And ye, O house of Israel, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Each his idols — go — serve ye, And, afterwards, if ye are not hearkening to me, And My holy name ye do not pollute any more by your gifts, and by your idols.
40 Porque en mi santo monte, en el monte alto de Israel, dice el Señor Dios, allí todos los hijos de Israel, todos ellos, serán mis siervos en la tierra; allí los aceptaré, y allí seré adorado con sus ofrendas y los primeros frutos de las cosas que dan, y con todas tus cosas santas.
For, in My holy mountain, In the mountain of the height of Israel, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, There serve Me do all the house of Israel, All of it, in the land — there I accept them, And there I do seek your heave-offerings, And with the first-fruit of your gifts, With all your holy things.
41 Me complaceré en ustedes como dulce olor, cuando los haya sacado de los pueblos y los reúna de los países de los que ahora están dispersos; y me santificaré en ustedes delante de los ojos de las naciones.
With sweet fragrance I do accept you, In My bringing you out from the peoples, And I have assembled you from the lands In which ye have been scattered, And I have been sanctified in you Before the eyes of the nations.
42 Y sabrán que yo soy el Señor, cuando los lleve a la tierra de Israel, al país que juré dar a sus padres.
And ye have known that I [am] Jehovah, In My bringing you to the ground of Israel, Unto the land that I did lift up My hand To give it to your fathers,
43 Y allí, en la memoria de sus caminos y de todas las cosas que hicieron para hacerse impuros, tendrán un odio amargo por ustedes mismos a causa de todas las cosas malas que han hecho.
And ye have remembered there your ways, And all your doings, In which ye have been defiled, And ye have been loathsome in your own faces, For all your evils that ye have done.
44 Y sabran de que yo soy el Señor, cuando actúe con ustedes por el honor de mi nombre, y no por sus malos caminos o sus obras inmundas, oh hijos de Israel, dice el Señor Dios.
And ye have known that I [am] Jehovah, In My dealing with you for My name's sake, Not according to your evil ways, And according to your corrupt doings, O house of Israel, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.'
45 Entonces vino a mí la palabra del Señor, diciendo:
And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,
46 Hijo de hombre, que tu rostro se vuelva hacia el sur, que tus palabras se caigan al sur, y sea un profeta contra el bosque del sur;
Son of man, set thy face the way of Teman, and prophesy unto the south, and prophesy unto the forest of the field — the south;
47 Y dile al bosque del sur, escucha las palabras del Señor: esto es lo que el Señor ha dicho: Mira, tendré un fuego encendido en ti, para la destrucción de cada árbol verde en ti y todo árbol seco; el fuego arderá y no se apagará, y todas la superficie del sur al norte serán quemadas.
and thou hast said to the forest of the south: Hear a word of Jehovah: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I am kindling in thee a fire, And it hath devoured in thee every moist tree, and every dry tree, Not quenched is the glowing flames, And burnt by it have been all faces from south to north.
48 Y toda carne verá que yo, el Señor, lo he encendido; no se apagará.
And seen have all flesh, that I, Jehovah, have kindled it — it is not quenched.'
49 Entonces dije: ¡Ah, Señor Dios! Ellos dicen de mí: ¿No habla este más que parábolas?
And I say, 'Ah, Lord Jehovah, They are saying of me, Is he not using similes?
