2 Crónicas 20
1 Después de esto, los hijos de Moab y los hijos de Amón, y con ellos algunos de los meunim, hicieron guerra contra Josafat.
Aftir these thingis the sones of Moab, and the sones of Amon, and with hem of Idumeis, weren gaderid togidere to Josaphat, for to fiyte ayens hym.
2 Y vinieron a Josafat con la noticia, diciendo: Un gran ejército se está moviendo contra ti desde Edom a través del mar; y ahora están en Hazezon-tamar que es En-gedi.
And messangeris camen, and schewiden to Josaphat, seiden, A greet multitude of tho placis that ben biyondis the see, and of Sirie, is comun ayens thee; and, lo! thei stonden in Asasonthamar, which is Engaddi.
3 Entonces Josafat, en su temor, fue al Señor en busca de instrucciones y dio órdenes a todo Judá para que la gente fuera en ayuno.
Forsothe Josaphat was aferd by drede, and `yaf hym silf al for to preye `the Lord, and prechide fastynge to al Juda.
4 Y Judá se reunió para orar pidiendo ayuda al Señor; de cada pueblo de Judá vinieron a adorar al Señor.
And Juda was gaderid togidere for to preye the Lord, but also alle men camen fro her citees for to biseche hym.
5 Y Josafat tomó su lugar en la reunión de Judá y Jerusalén, en el templo del Señor frente al nuevo atrio.
And whanne Josaphat hadde stonde in the myddis of the cumpeny of Juda and of Jerusalem, in the hows of the Lord, bifor the newe large place,
6 Y dijo: Señor, Dios de nuestros antepasados, ¿no eres tú Dios en el cielo? ¿No eres gobernante de todos los reinos de las naciones? y en tus manos hay poder y fuerza para que nadie pueda mantener su lugar en tu contra.
he seide, Lord God of oure fadris, thou art God in heuene, and thou art lord of alle rewmes of folkis; strengthe and power ben in thin hond, `and noon may ayenstonde thee.
7 ¿No lo hiciste, Señor nuestro Dios, después de expulsar a la gente de esta tierra ante tu pueblo Israel, y se lo diste a la simiente de Abraham, tu amigo, para siempre?
Whether not thou, oure God, hast slayn alle the dwelleris of this lond bifor thi puple Israel, and hast youe it to the seed of Abraham, thi freend, withouten ende?
8 Y lo hicieron su lugar de residencia, construyendo allí una casa santa a tu nombre, y diciendo:
And thei dwelliden therynne, and bildiden therinne a seyntuarie to thi name, and seiden,
9 Si el mal viene sobre nosotros, la espada, el castigo, la enfermedad o hambruna, vendremos a esta casa y a ti porque tu nombre está en este templo; te clamaremos en nuestros problemas, nos darás la salvación en respuesta a nuestro clamor.
If yuelis comen on vs, the swerd of doom, pestilence, and hungur, we schulen stonde bifor this hows withouten ende in thi siyt, in which hows thi name is clepid, and we schulen crie to thee in oure tribulaciouns; and thou schalt here vs, and schalt make vs saaf.
10 Y ahora, vean, los hijos de Amón, Moab y la gente del Monte Seir, a quien impediste que Israel atacará cuando salieron de Egipto, de modo que, se apartaron, y no enviaron la destrucción sobre ellos.
Now therfor lo! the sones of Amon and of Moab and the hil of Seir, bi whiche thou grauntidist not to the sones of Israel for to passe, whanne thei yeden out of Egipt, but thei bowiden awei fro hem, and killiden not hem,
11 Mira ahora, como nuestra recompensa, han venido a enviarnos de tu tierra que nos has dado como nuestra herencia.
thei doon ayenward, and enforsen to caste vs out of the possessioun, which thou, oure God, hast youe to vs;
12 Oh Dios nuestro, ¿no serás su juez? porque nuestra fuerza no es igual a este gran ejército que viene contra nosotros; y no sabemos qué hacer, pero nuestros ojos están puestos en ti.
therfor whether thou schalt not deme hem? Treuli in vs is not so greet strengthe, that we moun ayenstonde this multitude, that felde yn on vs; but sithen we witen not what we owen to do, we `han oneli this residue, that we dresse oure iyen to thee.
13 Y todo Judá esperaba delante deL Señor, con sus más pequeños, sus esposas y sus hijos.
Sotheli al Juda stood bifor the Lord, with her litle children and wyues and fre children.
14 Luego, antes de toda reunión, vino el espíritu del Señor sobre Jahaziel, hijo de Zacarías, hijo de Benaía, hijo de Jeiel, hijo de Matanías, levita y uno de la familia de Asaf;
Forsothe Hiaziel, the sone of Zacarie, sone of Ananye, sone of Hieyel, sone of Machanye, was a dekene, and of the sones of Asaph, on whom the Spirit of the Lord was maad in the myddis of the cumpeny,
15 Y él le dijo: Escucha, oh Judá, y tú pueblo de Jerusalén, y tú, el rey Josafat: el Señor te dice: No temas y no te preocupes por este gran ejército; porque la lucha no es tuya sino de Dios.
and he seide, Al Juda, and ye that dwellen in Jerusalem, and thou, king Josaphat, perseyue ye, the Lord seith these thingis to you, Nyle ye drede, nether be ye aferd of this multitude, for it is not youre batel, but Goddis batel.
16 Bajen contra ellos mañana: mira, están subiendo por la pendiente de Sis; Al final del valle, antes del desierto de Jeruel, se encontrará cara a cara con ellos.

17 No habrá necesidad de que tomes las armas en esta lucha; colóquense en posición y manténganse donde están, y verán la salvación del Señor con ustedes, oh Judá y Jerusalén: no teman y no se preocupen: salgan contra ellos mañana, porque el Señor está con ustedes.
For it schulen not be ye, that schulen fiyte; but oneli stonde ye trustili, and ye schulen se the help of the Lord on you. A! Juda and Jerusalem, nyle ye drede, nether be ye aferd; to morewe ye schulen go out ayens hem, and the Lord schal be with you.
18 Entonces Josafat descendió con su faz a la tierra, y todo Judá y la gente de Jerusalén adoraron al Señor, postrándose ante él.
Therfor Josaphat, and Juda, and alle the dwelleris of Jerusalem, felden lowli on the erthe bifor the Lord, and worschypiden hym.
19 Y los levitas, los hijos de Coat y los de Core, se pusieron de pie y alabaron al Señor, el Dios de Israel, en voz alta.
Forsothe the dekenes of the sones of Caath, and of the sones of Chore, herieden the Lord God of Israel with greet vois an hiy.
20 Temprano por la mañana, se levantaron y salieron al desierto de Tecoa. Cuando salían, Josafat tomó su puesto y les dijo: Escúchenme, Judá y ustedes, gente de Jerusalén: crean en el Señor tu Dios y estarás a salvo; crean en sus profetas y todo les saldrá bien.
And whanne thei hadden rise eerli, thei yeden not bi the deseert of Thecue; and whanne thei `hadden gon forth, Josaphat stood in the myddis of hem, and seide, Juda and alle the dwelleris of Jerusalem, here ye me; bileue ye in `youre Lord God, and ye schulen be sikur; bileue ye to hise prophetis, and alle prosperitees schulen come.
21 Y luego de conversar con la gente, puso en su lugar a los que debían hacer una melodía para el Señor, alabándolo con ropas sagradas, mientras iban a la cabeza del ejército y diciendo: “Que el Señor sea Alabado, porque su misericordia es para siempre.
And he yaf counsel to the puple, and he ordeynede the syngeris of the Lord, that thei schulden herye hym in her cumpanyes, and that thei schulden go bifor the oost, and seie with acordynge vois, Knouleche ye to the Lord, for he is good; for his merci is `in to the world.
22 Y en las primeras notas de canto y alabanza, el Señor envió un ataque sorpresa contra los hijos de Amón y Moab y contra la gente del monte Seir, que había venido contra Judá; y fueron vencidos.
And whanne thei bigunnen to synge heriyngis, the Lord turnede the buyschementis of hem `in to hem silf, that is, of the sones of Amon and of Moab and of the hil of Seir, that yeden out to fiyte ayens Juda; and thei weren slayn.
23 Y los hijos de Amón y Moab atacaron a la gente del monte Seir y los destruyeron por completo; y cuando pusieron fin a la gente de Seir, la mano de todos se volvió contra su prójimo para su destrucción.
For whi the sones of Amon and of Moab risiden togidere ayens the dwelleris of the hil of Seir, to sle, and to do awey hem; and whanne thei hadden do this in werk, thei weren `turned also `in to hem silf, and felden doun togidere bi woundis ech of othere.
24 Y Judá llegó a la torre de vigilancia en el desierto, y mirando en dirección al ejército, sólo vieron cadáveres tendidos sobre la tierra; No se veía a ningún hombre vivo.
Certis whanne Juda was comun to the denne, that biholdith the wildirnesse, he siy afer al the large cuntrei ful of deed bodies, and that noon was left, that miyte ascape deeth.
25 Y cuando Josafat y su pueblo vinieron a arrebatarles sus bienes, vieron animales en gran número, y riquezas y vestimentas y cosas de valor, más de lo que pudieron quitar; todo esto lo tomaron para sí mismos, y estuvieron tres días recogiendo cosas, había mucho botín.
Therfor Josaphat cam, and al the puple with hym, to drawe awey the spuylis of deed men, and thei founden among the deed bodies dyuerse purtenaunce of houshold, and clothis, and ful preciouse vessels; and thei rauyischiden in dyuerse maneres, so that thei myyten not bere alle thingis, nether thei myyten take awei the spuylis bi thre daies, for the greetnesse of prey.
26 Al cuarto día, todos se reunieron en el Valle de la Bendición, y allí bendijeron al Señor; Por lo que causa ese lugar ha sido nombrado el Valle de Beraca hasta hoy.
Sotheli in the fourthe dai thei weren gaderid togidere in the valey of Blessyng; `forsothe for thei blessiden the Lord there, thei clepiden that place the valei of Blessyng `til in to present dai.
27 Entonces todos los hombres de Judá y Jerusalén volvieron, con Josafat a la cabeza, y volviendo a Jerusalén con alegría; porque el Señor los había alegrado a causa de sus enemigos.
And ech man of Juda turnede ayen, and the dwelleris of Jerusalem, and Josaphat bifor hem, in to Jerusalem with greet gladnesse; for the Lord God hadde youe to hem ioye of her enemyes.
28 Y llegaron a Jerusalén con instrumentos de cuerda e instrumentos de viento en la casa del Señor.
And thei entriden in to Jerusalem with sawtrees, and harpis, and trumpis, in to the hows of the Lord.
29 Y el temor de Dios vino sobre todos los reinos de las tierras, cuando tuvieron noticias de cómo el Señor hizo la guerra a los que vinieron contra Israel.
Forsothe the drede of the Lord felde on alle the rewmes of londis, whanne thei hadden herd, that the Lord hadde fouyte ayens the enemies of Israel.
30 Entonces el reino de Josafat estaba tranquilo, porque el Señor le dio reposo por todos lados.
And the rewme of Josaphat restide; and the Lord yaf `pees to hym `bi cumpas.
31 Y Josafat fue rey sobre Judá. Tenía treinta y cinco años cuando comenzó a reinar, y estuvo gobernando durante veinticinco años en Jerusalén. Él nombre de su madre era Azuba, la hija de Silhi.
Therfor Josaphat regnede on Juda; and he was of fyue and thritti yeer, whanne he bigan to regne; sotheli he regnede fyue and twenti yeer in Jerusalem; and the name of his modir was Azuba, the douytir of Selathi.
32 Siguió los caminos de su padre Asa, sin volverse, sino haciendo lo recto ante los ojos del Señor.
And he yede in the weie of Asa his fadir, and bowide not fro it, and he dide what euer thingis weren plesaunt bifor the Lord.
33 Sin embargo, los lugares altos no fueron quitados, y los corazones de la gente todavía no eran fieles al Dios de sus padres.
Netheles he dide not awei hiy thingis; yit the puple hadde not dressid her herte to the Lord God of her fadris.
34 En cuanto al resto de los actos de Josafat, de principio a fin, están registrados en las palabras de Jehú, el hijo de Hanani, que fueron escritas en el libro de los reyes de Israel.
Forsothe the residue of the formere and the laste dedis of Josaphat ben writun in the book of Hieu, the sone of Anany, which he ordeynede in the book of kyngis of Israel.
35 Después de esto, Josafat, rey de Judá, se hizo amigo de Ocozías, rey de Israel, que hizo mucho mal.
After these thingis Josaphat, kyng of Juda, made frendschipis with Ocozie, kyng of Israel, whose werkis weren ful yuele;
36 Juntos hicieron barcos para ir a Tarsis, construyéndose en Ezion-geber.
and he was parcener that thei maden schippis, that schulden go in to Tharsis; and thei maden o schip in to Asiongaber.
37 Entonces la palabra de Eliezer el profeta, hijo de Dodava de Maresa, vino contra Josafat, diciendo: Porque te has unido a Ocozías, el Señor ha enviado destrucción sobre tus obras. Y los barcos se rompieron y no pudieron ir a Tarsis.
Sotheli Eliezer, sone of Dodan, of Maresa, profesiede to Josaphat, and seide, For thou haddist boond of pees with Ocozie, the Lord smoot thi werkis; and the schippis ben brokun, and myyten not go in to Tharsis.
