Jeremías 24

1 Me mostró el SEÑOR, y he aquí dos cestas de higos puestas delante del Templo del SEÑOR, después de haber transportado Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia a Jeconías hijo de Joacim, rey de Judá, y a los príncipes de Judá, y a los artífices y a los ingenieros de Jerusalén, y haberlos llevado a Babilonia.

Jehovah showed me, and, behold, two baskets of figs set before the temple of Jehovah, after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the craftsmen and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.

2 Una cesta tenía higos muy buenos, como brevas; y la otra cesta tenía higos muy malos, que no se podían comer de malos.

One basket had very good figs, like the figs that are first-ripe; and the other basket had very bad figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.

3 Y me dijo el SEÑOR: ¿Qué ves tú, Jeremías? Y dije: Higos, higos buenos, muy buenos; y malos, muy malos, que de malos no se pueden comer.

Then said Jehovah unto me, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the bad, very bad, that cannot be eaten, they are so bad.

4 Y vino a mí palabra del SEÑOR, diciendo:

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

5 Así dijo el SEÑOR Dios de Israel: Como a estos buenos higos, así conoceré la transportación de Judá al cual eché de este lugar a la tierra de los caldeos, para bien.

Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel: Like these good figs, so will I regard the captives of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans, for good.

6 Porque pondré mis ojos sobre ellos para bien, y los volveré a esta tierra; y los edificaré, y no los destruiré; los plantaré, y no los arrancaré.

For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.

7 Y les daré corazón para que me conozcan, que yo soy el SEÑOR, y me serán por pueblo, y yo les seré a ellos por Dios; porque se volverán a mí de todo su corazón.

And I will give them a heart to know me, that I am Jehovah: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God; for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.

8 Y como los malos higos, que de malos no se pueden comer, con certeza dice el SEÑOR, así daré a Sedequías rey de Judá, y a sus príncipes, y al resto de Jerusalén que quedaron en esta tierra, y que moran en la tierra de Egipto.

And as the bad figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so bad, surely thus saith Jehovah, So will I give up Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and them that dwell in the land of Egypt,

9 Y los daré por escarnio, por mal a todos los reinos de la tierra; por infamia, y por ejemplo, y por refrán, y por maldición a todos los lugares adonde yo los arrojaré.

I will even give them up to be tossed to and fro among all the kingdoms of the earth for evil; to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places whither I shall drive them.

10 Y enviaré sobre ellos espada, hambre, y pestilencia, hasta que sean acabados de sobre la tierra que les di a ellos y a sus padres.

And I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, among them, till they be consumed from off the land that I gave unto them and to their fathers.
