Isaías 33

1 ¡Ay de ti, el que saqueas, y nunca fuiste saqueado; el que haces deslealtad, y que nadie la hizo contra ti! Cuando acabares de saquear, serás tú también saqueado; y cuando acabares de hacer deslealtad, se hará también contra ti.

Woe to thee that destroyest, and thou wast not destroyed; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! When thou hast ceased to destroy, thou shalt be destroyed; and when thou hast made an end of dealing treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.

2 Oh SEÑOR, ten misericordia de nosotros, a ti esperamos; tú que fuiste fortaleza de su pueblo al principio, sé también nuestra salud en tiempo de la tribulación.

O Jehovah, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou our arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.

3 Los pueblos huyeron de la voz del estruendo; los gentiles fueron esparcidos, cuando tú te levantas contra ellos.

At the noise of the tumult the peoples are fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations are scattered.

4 Mas vuestra presa será cogida como cuando cogen las orugas; correrá sobre ellos como de una a otra parte corren las langostas.

And your spoil shall be gathered as the caterpillar gathereth: as locusts leap shall men leap upon it.

5 Será ensalzado el SEÑOR, el cual mora en las alturas; porque llenó a Sion de juicio y de justicia.

Jehovah is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with justice and righteousness.

6 Y reinarán en tus tiempos la sabiduría y la ciencia, y la fuerza de la salvación; el temor del SEÑOR será su tesoro.

And there shall be stability in thy times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge: the fear of Jehovah is thy treasure.

7 He aquí, que sus embajadores darán voces afuera, los mensajeros de paz llorarán amargamente.

Behold, their valiant ones cry without; the ambassadors of peace weep bitterly.

8 Las calzadas serán deshechas; cesaron los caminantes; anuló la alianza, aborreció las ciudades, tuvo en nada los hombres.

The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: [the enemy] hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth not man.

9 Se enlutó, enfermó la tierra; el Líbano se avergonzó, y fue cortado; Sarón fue tornado como desierto. Basán, y el Carmelo fueron sacudidos.

The land mourneth and languisheth; Lebanon is confounded and withereth away; Sharon is like a desert; and Bashan and Carmel shake off [their leaves].

10 Ahora me levantaré, dice el SEÑOR; ahora seré ensalzado, ahora seré engrandecido.

Now will I arise, saith Jehovah; now will I lift up myself; now will I be exalted.

11 Concebisteis hojarascas, daréis a luz aristas; el soplo de vuestro fuego os consumirá.

Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath is a fire that shall devour you.

12 Y los pueblos serán como cal quemada, como espinas cortadas serán quemadas con fuego.

And the peoples shall be as the burnings of lime, as thorns cut down, that are burned in the fire.

13 Oíd, los que estáis lejos, lo que he hecho; y vosotros los cercanos, conoced mi potencia.

Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might.

14 Los pecadores se asombraron en Sion, espanto sobrecogió a los hipócritas. ¿Quién de nosotros morará con el fuego consumidor? ¿Quién de nosotros habitará con las llamas eternas?

The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling hath seized the godless ones: Who among us can dwell with the devouring fire? who among us can dwell with everlasting burnings?

15 El que camina en justicia, el que habla rectitud, el que aborrece la ganancia de violencias, el que sacude sus manos de recibir cohecho; el que tapa su oreja, por no oír sangre; el que aprieta sus ojos, por no ver cosa mala;

He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from taking a bribe, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from looking upon evil:

16 éste habitará en las alturas; fortaleza de rocas será su lugar de acogimiento; a éste se dará su pan, y sus aguas serán ciertas.

He shall dwell on high; his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks; his bread shall be given [him]; his waters shall be sure.

17 Tus ojos verán al Rey en su hermosura; verán la tierra que está lejos.

Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold a land that reacheth afar.

18 Tu corazón imaginará el espanto, y dirá: ¿Qué es del escriba? ¿Qué es del pesador del tributo? ¿Qué es del que pone en lista las casas más insignes?

Thy heart shall muse on the terror: Where is he that counted, where is he that weighed [the tribute]? where is he that counted the towers?

19 No verás a aquel pueblo espantable, pueblo de lengua oscura de entender, de lengua tartamuda, que no lo comprendas.

Thou shalt not see the fierce people, a people of a deep speech that thou canst not comprehend, of a strange tongue that thou canst not understand.

20 Verás a Sion, ciudad de nuestras solemnidades; tus ojos verán a Jerusalén, morada de quietud; tienda que no será desarmada, ni sus estacas serán arrancadas, ni ninguna de sus cuerdas será rota.

Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tent that shall not be removed, the stakes whereof shall never be plucked up, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.

21 Porque ciertamente allí será fuerte a nosotros el SEÑOR, lugar de riberas, de arroyos muy anchos, por el cual no andará galera, ni por él pasará gran navío.

But there Jehovah will be with us in majesty, a place of broad rivers and streams, wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.

22 Porque el SEÑOR será nuestro juez, el SEÑOR será nuestro dador de leyes, el SEÑOR será nuestro rey, él mismo nos salvará.

For Jehovah is our judge, Jehovah is our lawgiver, Jehovah is our king; he will save us.

23 Tus cuerdas se aflojaron; no afirmaron su mástil, ni entesaron la vela; se repartirá presa de muchos despojos; hasta los cojos arrebatarán presa.

Thy tacklings are loosed; they could not strengthen the foot of their mast, they could not spread the sail: then was the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame took the prey.

24 No dirá el morador: Estoy enfermo; el pueblo que morare en ella, será absuelto de pecado.

And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.
