San Lucas 13
1 Y EN este mismo tiempo estaban allí unos que le contaban acerca de los Galiléos cuya sangre Pilato habia mezclado con sus sacrificios.
Now there were some present at the same time who told him about the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.
2 Y respondiendo Jesus les dijo: ¿Pensais que estos Galiléos, porque han padecido tales cosas, hayan sido más pecadores que todos las Galiléos?
And he answered and said to them, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered these things?
3 No, os digo: ántes, si no os arrepintiereis, todos pereceréis igualmente.
I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.
4 O aquellos diez y ocho, sobre los cuales cayó la torre de Siloé, y los mató, ¿pensais que ellos fueron más deudores que todos los hombres que habitan en Jerusalem,
Or those eighteen, on whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them; do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who dwell in Jerusalem?
5 No, os digo: ántes si no os arrepintiereis, todos pereceréis asimismo.
I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way."
6 Y dijo esta parábola: Tenia uno una higuera plantada en su viña, y vino á buscar fruto en ella, y no [lo] halló.
He spoke this parable. "A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it, and found none.
7 Y dijo al viñero: Hé aquí tres años ha que vengo á buscar fruto en esta higuera, y no [le] hallo; córtala, ¿por que ocupará aun la tierra?
He said to the vine dresser, 'Look, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down. Why does it waste the soil?'
8 El entónces respondiendo, le dijo: Señor, déjala aun este año, hasta que [yo] la excave, y estercole.
He answered, 'Lord, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it, and fertilize it.
9 Y si hiciere fruto, [bien; ] y si no, la cortarás despues.
And if it bears fruit next time, [fine]; but if not, you can cut it down.'"
10 Y enseñaba en una sinagoga en Sábado.
He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day.
11 Y hé aquí una mujer que tenia espíritu de enfermedad diez y ocho años, andaba agobiada que en ninguna manera [se] podia enhestar.
And look, a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and she was bent over, and could in no way straighten herself up.
12 Y como Jesus la vió, llamó[la, ] y díjole: Mujer, libre eres de tu enfermedad.
When Jesus saw her, he called her, and said to her, "Woman, you are freed from your infirmity."
13 Y puso las manos sobre ella, y luego se enderezó, y glorificaba á Dios.
He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight, and glorified God.
14 Y respondiendo el príncipe de la sinagoga, enojado que Jesus hubiese curado en el Sábado, dijo á la compañía: Seis dias hay en que es necesario obrar: en estos, pues, venid y sed curados, y no en dia de Sábado.
The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the crowd, "There are six days when work should be done Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day."
15 Entónces el Señor le respondió, y dijo: Hipócrita, ¿cada uno de vosotros no desata en Sábado su buey, ó su asno del pesebre, y [lo] lleva á beber?
Therefore the Lord answered him, "You hypocrites. Does not each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath, and lead him away to water?
16 Y á esta hija de Abraham, que hé aquí que Satanás la habia ligado diez y ocho años, ¿no convino desatarla de esta ligadura en dia de Sábado?
Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan had bound, look, eighteen years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?"
17 Y diciendo estas cosas, se avergonzaban todos sus adversarios: mas todo el pueblo se gozaba de todas las cosas gloriosas que eran por él hechas.
As he said these things, all his adversaries were disappointed, and all the crowd rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
18 Y dijo: ¿A qué es semejante el reino de Dios, y á qué le compararé?
Then he said, "What is the Kingdom of God like? And to what can I compare it?
19 Semejante es al grano de la mostaza, que tomándo[lo] un hombre [le] metió en su huerto; y creció, y fué hecho árbol grande, y las aves del cielo hicieron nidos en sus ramas.
It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and put in his own garden. It grew, and became a tree, and the birds of the sky lodged in its branches."
20 Y otra vez dijo: ¿A qué compararé el reino de Dios?
And again he said, "To what can I compare the Kingdom of God?
21 Semejante es á la levadura, que tomó una mujer, y [la] escondió en tres medidas de harina, hasta que todo hubo fermentado.
It is like yeast, which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened."
22 Y pasaba por todas las ciudades y aldéas enseñando, y caminando á Jerusalem.
He went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and traveling on to Jerusalem.
23 Y díjole uno: Señor, ¿son pocos los que se salvan? Y él les dijo:
One said to him, "Lord, are they few who are saved?" He said to them,
24 Porfiad á entrar por la puerta angosta: porque os digo que muchos procurarán entrar, y no podrán.
"Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in, and will not be able.
25 Despues que el padre de familias se levantare, y cerrare la puerta, y comenzaréis á estar fuera, y tocar á la puerta, diciendo: Señor, Señor, ábrenos: y respondiendo [él] os dirá: No os conozco de donde seais:
When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside, and to knock at the door, saying, 'Lord, open to us.' then he will answer and tell you, 'I do not know you or where you come from.'
26 Entónces comenzaréis á decir: Delante de tí hemos comido y bebido, y en nuestras plazas enseñaste.
Then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.'
27 Y [os] dirá: Dígoos que no os conozco de donde seais: apartáos de mí, todos los obreros de iniquidad.
But he will reply, 'I do not know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.'
28 Allí será el llanto y el crujir de dientes, cuando viereis á Abraham, y á Isaac, y á Jacob, y á todos los profetas en el reino de Dios, y vosotros excluidos.
There will be weeping and grinding of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets, in the Kingdom of God, and yourselves being thrown outside.
29 Y vendrán del Oriente y del Occidente, del Norte, y del Mediodia, y se sentarán á la mesa en el reino de Dios.
They will come from the east, west, north, and south, and will sit down in the Kingdom of God.
30 Y hé aquí, que son postreros los que eran los primeros; y que son primeros los que eran los postreros.
And look, there are some who are last who will be first, and there are some who are first who will be last."
31 Aquel mismo dia llegaron unos de los Fariséos, diciéndoles: Sal y véte de aquí, porque Heródes te quiere matar.
In that same hour some Pharisees came, saying to him, "Get out of here, and go away, for Herod wants to kill you."
32 Y les dijo: Id, y decid á aquella zorra: Hé aquí, echo fuera demonios, y acabo sanidades hoy y mañana, y al tercer dia soy consumado.
And he said to them, "Go and tell that fox, 'Look, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission.
33 Empero es menester que hoy, y mañana, y pasado mañana camine: porque no es posible que profeta muera fuera de Jerusalem.
Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, for it cannot be that a prophet perish outside of Jerusalem.'
34 ¡Jerusalem, Jerusalem! que matas los profetas, y apedreas los que son enviados á tí: ¡cuántas veces quise juntar tus hijos, como la gallina sus pollos debajo de [sus] alas, y no quisiste!
"Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her. How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused.
35 Hé aquí os es dejada vuestra casa desierta: y os digo que no me veréis, hasta que venga [tiempo] cuando digais: Bendito el que viene en nombre del Señor.
Look, your house is abandoned to you. And I tell you, you will not see me until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'"
