Salmos 140
1 Al Músico principal: Salmo de David. LÍBRAME, oh Jehová, de hombre malo: guárdame de hombre violento;
To the Chief Musician. A Melody of David. Rescue me, O Yahweh, from the men of mischief, From the men of violence, wilt thou preserve me:
2 Los cuales maquinan males en el corazón, cada día urden contiendas.
Who have devised mischiefs in their [heart], Every day, do they stir up wars:
3 Aguzaron su lengua como la serpiente; veneno de áspid hay debajo de sus labios. (Selah)
They have sharpened their tongue like a serpent, —The poison of the asp, is under their lips. (Selah)
4 Guárdame, oh Jehová, de manos del impío, presérvame del hombre injurioso; que han pensado de trastornar mis pasos.
Keep me, O Yahweh, from the hands of the lawless one, From the man of violence, wilt thou preserve me, —who have devised, to thrust at my steps:
5 Hanme escondido lazo y cuerdas los soberbios; han tendido red junto á la senda; me han puesto lazos. (Selah)
The proud have hidden a snare for me, and, cords, have they spread as a net beside the track, Snares, have they set for me. (Selah)
6 He dicho á Jehová: Dios mío eres tú; escucha, oh Jehová, la voz de mis ruegos.
I have said unto Yahweh, My GOD, thou art! Give ear, O Yahweh, unto the voice of my supplications.
7 Jehová Señor, fortaleza de mi salud, tú pusiste á cubierto mi cabeza el día de las armas.
O Yahweh, My Lord, my saving strength, thou hast screened my head in the day of battle.
8 No des, oh Jehová, al impío sus deseos; no saques adelante su pensamiento, [que no] se ensoberbezca. (Selah)
Do not grant, O Yahweh, the desires of the lawless one, his device, do not promote, They would exalt themselves. (Selah)
9 En cuanto á los que por todas partes me rodean, la maldad de sus propios labios cubrirá su cabeza.
As for the head of them who surround me, Let the mischief of their lips cover them:
10 Caerán sobre ellos brasas; [Dios] los hará caer en el fuego, en profundos hoyos de donde no salgan.
May there be dropped on them live coals, —Into the fire, may they be let fall, into watery pits [from which] they shall not rise.
11 El hombre deslenguado no será firme en la tierra: el mal cazará al hombre injusto para derribarle.
As for the slanderer, let him not be established in the earth, —As for the man of wrongful violence, let misfortune hunt him with thrust upon thrust.
12 Yo sé que hará Jehová el juicio del afligido, el juicio de los menesterosos.
I know that Yahweh will execute, the right of the oppressed one, the vindication of the needy.
13 Ciertamente los justos alabarán tu nombre; los rectos morarán en tu presencia.
Surely, the righteous, shall give thanks to thy Name, the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
