Proverbios 5
1 Hijo mío está atento a mi sabiduría, y a mi inteligencia inclina tu oído:
My son, attend unto my wisdom; incline thine ear to my understanding:
2 Para que guardes mis consejos; y tus labios conserven la ciencia.
That thou mayest preserve discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.
3 Porque los labios de la mujer extraña destilan panal de miel; y su paladar es más suave que el aceite:
For the lips of a strange woman drop honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil:
4 Mas su fin es amargo como el ajenjo; agudo como espada de dos filos.
But her latter end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.
Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on Sheol; (Sheol h7585)
6 Si no pesares el camino de vida, sus caminos son instables: no los conocerás.
So that she findeth not the level path of life: her ways are unstable [and] she knoweth [it] not.
7 Ahora pues, hijos, oídme, y no os apartéis de las razones de mi boca.
Now therefore, [my] sons, hearken unto me, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
8 Aleja de ella tu camino; y no te acerques a la puerta de su casa.
Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
9 Porque no des a los extraños tu honor; y tus años a cruel.
Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel:
10 Porque no se harten los extraños de tu fuerza; y tus trabajos estén en casa del extraño:
Lest strangers be filled with thy strength; and thy labours [be] in the house of an alien;
11 Y gimas en tus postrimerías, cuando se consumiere tu carne y tu cuerpo,
And thou mourn at thy latter end, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
12 Y digas: ¿Cómo aborrecí el castigo; y mi corazón menospreció la reprensión,
And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
13 Y no oí la voz de los que me castigaban; y a los que me enseñaban no incliné mi oído?
Neither have I obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!
14 Poco se faltó para que no cayese en todo mal, en medio de la compañía y de la congregación.
I was well nigh in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
15 Bebe el agua de tu cisterna, y las corrientes de tu pozo.
Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.
16 Derrámense por de fuera tus fuentes: en las plazas los ríos de tus aguas.
Should thy springs be dispersed abroad, and rivers of water in the streets?
17 Sean para ti solo, y no para los extraños contigo.
Let them be for thyself alone, and not for strangers with thee.
18 Será bendito tu manadero; y alégrate de la mujer de tu mocedad.
Let thy fountain be blessed; and rejoice in the wife of thy youth.
19 Cierva amada, y graciosa cabra; sus pechos te hartarán en todo tiempo; y de su amor andarás ciego de continuo.
[As] a loving hind and a pleasant doe, let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.
20 ¿Y por qué andarás ciego, hijo mío, con la ajena, y abrazarás el seno de la extraña?
For why shouldest thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
21 Pues que los caminos del hombre están delante de los ojos de Jehová, y él pesa todas sus veredas.
For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he maketh level all his paths.
22 Sus iniquidades prenderán al impío; y con las cuerdas de su pecado será detenido.
His own iniquities shall take the wicked, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sin.
23 Él morirá sin castigo; y por la multitud de su locura errará.
He shall die for lack of instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
