Proverbios 31
1 Palabras de Lemuel rey: la profecía con que le enseñó su madre.
The words given to King Lemuel; the prophecy which his mother taught him.
2 ¿Qué, hijo mío? ¿Y qué, hijo de mi vientre? ¿y qué, hijo de mis deseos?
What, O my son! and what, O son of my womb! Yea, what, O son of my vows! [[shall I say to thee?]]
3 No des a las mujeres tu fuerza, ni tus caminos, que es para destruir a los reyes.
Give not thy strength to women, Nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings!
4 No es de los reyes, o! Lemuel, no es de los reyes beber vino, ni de los príncipes la cerveza:
It is not for kings, O Lemuel! It is not for kings to drink wine, Nor for princes to desire strong drink;
5 Porque no beban, y olviden la ley; y perviertan el derecho de todos los hijos afligidos.
Lest they drink, and forget the law, And pervert the rights of any of the afflicted.
6 Dad la cerveza al que perece, y el vino a los de amargo ánimo.
Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish, And wine to him that hath a heavy heart;
7 Beban, y olvídense de su necesidad, y de su miseria no se acuerden más.
Let him drink and forget his poverty, And remember his misery no more!
8 Abre tu boca por el mudo, en el juicio de todos los hijos de muerte.
Open thy mouth for the dumb, In the cause of every orphan!
9 Abre tu boca, juzga justicia, y el derecho del pobre, y del menesteroso.
Open thy mouth, judge righteously, And maintain the cause of the poor and needy!
10 ¿Mujer valiente quién la hallará? porque su valor luengamente pasa al de las piedras preciosas.
Who can find a capable woman? Her worth is far above pearls.
11 El corazón de su marido está en ella confiado, y de despojo no tendrá necesidad.
The heart of her husband trusteth in her, And he is in no want of gain.
12 Dárle ha bien, y no mal, todos los días de su vida.
She doeth him good, and not evil, All the days of her life.
13 Buscó lana y lino; y de voluntad trabajó con sus manos.
She seeketh wool and flax, And worketh willingly with her hands.
14 Fue como navío de mercader, que trae su pan de lejos.
She is like the merchants' ships; She bringeth her food from afar.
15 Levantóse aun de noche; y dio comida a su familia; y ración a sus criadas.
She riseth while it is yet night, And giveth food to her family, And a task to her maidens.
16 Consideró la heredad, y compróla; y plantó viña del fruto de sus manos.
She layeth a plan for a field, and buyeth it; With the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
17 Ciñó sus lomos de fortaleza, y esforzó sus brazos.
She girdeth her loins with strength, And maketh strong her arms.
18 Gustó que era buena su granjería; su candela no se apagó de noche.
She perceiveth how pleasant is her gain, And her lamp is not extinguished in the night.
19 Aplicó sus manos al huso; y sus manos trataron la rueca.
She putteth forth her hands to the distaff, And her hands take hold of the spindle.
20 Su mano extendió al pobre; y al menesteroso extendió sus manos.
She spreadeth out her hand to the poor, Yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
21 No tendrá temor de la nieve por su familia, porque toda su familia está vestida de ropas dobladas.
She hath no fear for her household on account of the snow, For all her household are clothed with crimson.
22 Ella se hizo tapices: de lino fino y púrpura es su vestido.
She maketh for herself coverlets; Her clothing is of fine linen and purple.
23 Conocido es su marido en las puertas, cuando se asienta con los ancianos de la tierra.
Her husband is known in the gates, When he sitteth with the elders of the land.
24 Hizo telas, y vendió; y dio cintas al mercader.
She maketh linen garments and selleth them, And delivereth girdles to the merchant.
25 Fortaleza y hermosura es su vestido; y en el día postrero reirá.
Strength and honor are her clothing; And she laugheth at the days to come.
26 Abrió su boca con sabiduría; y la ley de clemencia está en su boca.
She openeth her mouth with wisdom, And kind instruction is upon her tongue.
27 Considera los caminos de su casa; y no comió el pan de balde.
She looketh well to the ways of her household, And eateth not the bread of idleness.
28 Levantáronse sus hijos, y llamáronla bienaventurada; y su marido también la alabó.
Her children rise up, and extol her; Her husband, and praiseth her, [[saving, ]]
29 Muchas mujeres hicieron riquezas, mas tú las sobrepujaste a todas.
“Many daughters have done, virtuously, But thou excellest them all.”
30 Engañosa es la gracia, y vana la hermosura: la mujer que teme a Jehová, esa será alabada.
Grace is deceitful, and beauty vain; But the woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
31 Dádla del fruto de sus manos; y alábenla en las puertas sus hechos.
Give ye her of the fruit of her hands, And let her works praise her in the gates.
