Números 11

1 Y aconteció, que el pueblo se quejó en oídos de Jehová, y oyólo Jehová, y enojóse su furor, y encendióse en ellos fuego de Jehová, y consumió el un cabo del campo.

And the people were as murmurers, [speaking] evil in the ears of the LORD: and when the LORD heard it, his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and devoured in the uttermost part of the camp.

2 Entonces el pueblo dio voces a Moisés, y Moisés oró a Jehová, y el fuego se hundió.

And the people cried unto Moses; and Moses prayed unto the LORD, and the fire abated.

3 Y llamó a aquel lugar Tabera; porque el fuego de Jehová se encendió en ellos.

And the name of that place was called Taberah: because the fire of the LORD burnt among them.

4 Y el vulgo que era en medio del pueblo tuvo deseo, y volvieron, y aun lloraron los hijos de Israel, y dijeron: ¿Quién nos hiciese comer carne?

And the mixed multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?

5 Acordámosnos del pescado, que comíamos en Egipto de balde, de los pepinos, y de los melones, y de los puerros, y de las cebollas, y de los ajos:

We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt for nought; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:

6 Y ahora nuestra alma se seca, que nada sino man ven nuestros ojos.

but now our soul is dried away; there is nothing at all: we have nought save this manna to look to.

7 Y el man era como simiente de cilantro, y su color como color de cristal.

And the manna was like coriander seed, and the appearance thereof as the appearance of bdellium.

8 Derramábase el pueblo, y cogían, y molían en molinos, o majaban en morteros, y cocían en la caldera, y hacían de él tortas; y su sabor era como sabor de aceite nuevo.

The people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in mortars, and seethed it in pots, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.

9 Y cuando descendía el rocío sobre el real de noche, el man descendía de sobre él.

And when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell upon it.

10 Y oyó Moisés al pueblo, que lloraba por sus familias, cada uno a la puerta de su tienda, y el furor de Jehová se encendió en gran manera; y pareció mal a Moisés.

And Moses heard the people weeping throughout their families, every man at the door of his tent: and the anger of the LORD was kindled greatly; and Moses was displeased.

11 Y dijo Moisés a Jehová: ¿Por qué has hecho mal a tu siervo? ¿Y por qué no he hallado gracia en tus ojos, que has puesto la carga de todo este pueblo sobre mí?

And Moses said unto the LORD, Wherefore hast thou evil entreated thy servant? and wherefore have I not found favour in thy sight, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me?

12 ¿Concebí yo a todo este pueblo? ¿Engendréle yo, que me dices, llévale en tus brazos, como lleva el que cria al que mama, a la tierra de la cual juraste a sus padres?

Have I conceived all this people? have I brought them forth, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing-father carrieth the sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers?

13 ¿De dónde tengo yo carne para dar a todo este pueblo? Porque lloran sobre mí, diciendo: Dános carne, que comamos.

Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.

14 No puedo yo solo suportar a todo este pueblo, que es más pesado que yo.

I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.

15 Y si así lo haces tú conmigo, yo te ruego que me mates de muerte, si he hallado gracia en tus ojos, y que yo no vea mi mal.

And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.

16 Entonces Jehová dijo a Moisés: Júntame setenta varones de los ancianos de Israel, que tú sabes que son ancianos del pueblo, y sus príncipes: y tráelos a la puerta del tabernáculo del testimonio, y esperen allí contigo.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tent of meeting, that they may stand there with thee.

17 Y yo descenderé, y hablaré allí contigo, y tomaré del espíritu que está en ti, y pondré en ellos, y llevarán contigo la carga del pueblo, y no la llevarás tú solo.

And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.

18 Empero al pueblo dirás: Santificáos para mañana, y comeréis carne: por cuanto habéis llorado en oídos de Jehová, diciendo: ¿Quién nos hiciese comer carne? Cierto mejor nos iba en Egipto. Que Jehová os dará carne, y comeréis.

And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow, and ye shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore the LORD will give you flesh, and ye shall eat.

19 No comeréis un día, ni dos días, ni cinco días, ni diez días, ni veinte días:

Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days;

20 Hasta un mes de tiempo, hasta que os salga por las narices, y os sea en aborrecimiento: por cuanto menospreciasteis a Jehová, que está en medio de vosotros, y llorasteis delante de él, diciendo: ¿Para qué salimos acá de Egipto?

but a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have rejected the LORD which is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?

21 Entonces Moisés dijo: Seiscientos mil de a pie es el pueblo en medio del cual yo estoy: ¿Y tú dices: yo les daré carne, y comerán un mes de tiempo?

And Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou hast said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.

22 ¿Degollarse han para ellos ovejas y bueyes que les basten? o ¿juntarse han para ellos todos los peces de la mar, para que hayan abasto?

Shall flocks and herds be slain for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them?

23 Entonces Jehová respondió a Moisés: ¿Será cortada la mano de Jehová? Ahora verás si te viene mi dicho o no.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD’S hand waxed short? now shalt thou see whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.

24 Y salió Moisés, y dijo al pueblo las palabras de Jehová: y juntó los setenta varones de los ancianos del pueblo, e hízolos estar al derredor del tabernáculo.

And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the LORD: and he gathered seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the Tent.

25 Entonces Jehová descendió en la nube, y hablóle: y tomó del espíritu que estaba en él, y puso en los setenta varones ancianos, y fue, que en reposando en ellos el espíritu profetizaron, y no añadieron.

And the LORD came down in the cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and put it upon the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, but they did so no more.

26 Y habían quedado en el campo dos varones: el uno se llamaba Eldad, y el otro Medad, sobre los cuales también reposó el espíritu: estos estaban entre los escritos, mas no habían salido al tabernáculo, y profetizaron en el campo.

But there remained two men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but had not gone out unto the Tent: and they prophesied in the camp.

27 Y corrió un mozo, y dio aviso a Moisés, y dijo: Eldad y Medad profetizan en el campo.

And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp.

28 Entonces respondió Josué, hijo de Nun, ministro de Moisés, de sus mancebos, y dijo: Señor mío Moisés, impídelos.

And Joshua the son of Nun, the minister of Moses, one of his chosen men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.

29 Y Moisés le respondió: ¿Tienes tú celos por mí? Mas ¡quién diese que todo el pueblo de Jehová fuesen profetas, que Jehová diese su espíritu sobre ellos!

And Moses said unto him, Art thou jealous for my sake? would God that all the LORD’S people were prophets, that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!

30 Y recogióse Moisés al campo, él y los ancianos de Israel.

And Moses gat him into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.

31 Y salió un viento de Jehová, y trajo codornices de la mar, y dejólas sobre el real un día de camino de la una parte, y otro día de camino de la otra en derredor del campo, y casi dos codos sobre la haz de la tierra.

And there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, about a day’s journey on this side, and a day’s journey on the other side, round about the camp, and about two cubits above the face of the earth.

32 Entonces el pueblo se levantó todo aquel día, y toda la noche, y todo el día siguiente, y cogiéronse codornices, el que menos, cogió diez montones: y tendiéronselas tendiendo al derredor del campo.

And the people rose up all that day, and all the night, and all the next day, and gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp.

33 Aun estaba la carne entre los dientes de ellos, antes que fuese cortada, cuando el furor de Jehová se encendió en el pueblo, e hirió Jehová al pueblo de gran plaga en gran manera.

While the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the anger of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD smote the people with a very great plague.

34 Y llamó el nombre de aquel lugar Kibrot-hattaava, por cuanto allí sepultaron al pueblo codicioso.

And the name of that place was called Kibroth-hattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted.

35 De Kibrot-hattaava movió el pueblo a Jaserot, y pararon en Jaserot.

From Kibroth-hattaavah the people journeyed unto Hazeroth; and they abode at Hazeroth.
