San Mateo 22
1 Y respondiendo Jesús, les volvió a hablar en parábolas, diciendo:
Then Iesus answered, and spake vnto them againe in parables, saying,
2 El reino de los cielos es semejante a un hombre rey, que hizo bodas a su hijo.
The kingdome of heauen is like vnto a certaine King which maried his sonne,
3 Y envió sus siervos para que llamasen a los convidados a las bodas; mas no quisieron venir.
And sent foorth his seruants, to call them that were bidde to the wedding, but they woulde not come.
4 Volvió a enviar otros siervos, diciendo: Decíd a los convidados: He aquí, mi comida he aparejado, mis toros y animales engordados son muertos, y todo está aparejado: veníd a las bodas.
Againe hee sent foorth other seruants, saying. Tell them which are bidden, Beholde, I haue prepared my dinner: mine oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all thinges are readie: come vnto the mariage.
5 Mas ellos no hicieron caso, y se fueron, uno a su labranza, y otro a sus negocios;
But they made light of it, and went their wayes, one to his farme, and another about his marchandise.
6 Y otros, tomando sus siervos, afrentáronlos, y matáronlos.
And the remnant tooke his seruants, and intreated them sharpely, and slewe them.
7 Y el rey, oyendo esto, se enojó; y enviando sus ejércitos, destruyó a aquellos homicidas, y puso a fuego su ciudad.
But when the King heard it, he was wroth, and sent foorth his warriers, and destroyed those murtherers, and burnt vp their citie.
8 Entonces dice a sus siervos: Las bodas a la verdad están aparejadas; mas los que eran llamados, no eran dignos.
Then saide hee to his seruants, Truely the wedding is prepared: but they which were bidden, were not worthy.
9 Id pues a las salidas de los caminos, y llamád a las bodas a cuantos hallareis.
Go ye therefore out into the high wayes, and as many as ye finde, bid them to the mariage.
10 Y saliendo los siervos por los caminos, juntaron todos los que hallaron, juntamente malos y buenos; y las bodas fueron llenas de convidados.
So those seruantes went out into the hie wayes, and gathered together all that euer they found, both good and bad: so the wedding was furnished with ghestes.
11 Y entró el rey para ver los convidados, y vio allí un hombre no vestido de vestido de boda.
Then the King came in, to see the ghestes, and sawe there a man which had not on a wedding garment.
12 Y le díjo: Amigo, ¿cómo entraste acá no teniendo vestido de boda? Y a él se le cerró la boca.
And he sayd vnto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither, and hast not on a wedding garment? And he was speachlesse.
13 Entonces el rey dijo a los que servían: Atado de pies y de manos, tomádle, y echádle en las tinieblas de afuera: allí será el lloro, y el crujir de dientes.
Then sayd the King to the seruants, Binde him hand and foote: take him away, and cast him into vtter darkenes: there shalbe weeping and gnashing of teeth.
14 Porque muchos son llamados; mas pocos escogidos.
For many are called, but fewe chosen.
15 Entonces idos los Fariseos, consultaron como le tomarían en alguna palabra.
Then went the Pharises and tooke counsell how they might tangle him in talke.
16 Y envían a él sus discípulos, con los de Heródes, diciendo: Maestro, sabemos que eres amador de verdad, y que enseñas con verdad el camino de Dios; y que no te cuidas de nadie; porque no tienes acepción de persona de hombres:
And they sent vnto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we knowe that thou art true, and teachest the way of God truely, neither carest for any man: for thou considerest not the person of men.
17 Dinos pues, ¿qué te parece? ¿Es lícito dar tributo a César, o no?
Tell vs therefore, how thinkest thou? Is it lawfull to giue tribute vnto Cesar, or not?
18 Mas Jesús, entendida su malicia, les dice: ¿Por qué me tentáis, hipócritas?
But Iesus perceiued their wickednes, and sayd, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
19 Mostrádme la moneda del tributo. Y ellos le presentaron un denario.
Shewe me the tribute money. And they brought him a peny.
20 Entonces les dice: ¿Cúya es esta figura, y lo que está encima escrito?
And he sayde vnto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
21 Ellos le dicen: De César. Y les dice: Pagád, pues, a César lo que es de César, y a Dios, lo que es de Dios.
They sayd vnto him, Cesars. Then sayd he vnto them, Giue therefore to Cesar, the things which are Cesars, and giue vnto God, those things which are Gods.
22 Y oyendo esto se maravillaron, y dejáronle, y se fueron.
And when they heard it, they marueiled, and left him, and went their way.
23 Aquel día llegaron a él los Saduceos, que dicen no haber resurrección, y le preguntaron,
The same day the Sadduces came to him (which say that there is no resurrection) and asked him,
24 Diciendo: Maestro, Moisés dijo: Si alguno muriere sin hijos, su hermano se case con su mujer, y despertará simiente a su hermano.
Saying, Master, Moses sayd, If a man die, hauing no children, his brother shall marie his wife by the right of alliance, and raise vp seede vnto his brother.
25 Fueron, pues, entre nosotros siete hermanos; y el primero tomó mujer, y murió; y no teniendo generación, dejó su mujer a su hermano.
Nowe there were with vs seuen brethren, and the first maried a wife, and deceased: and hauing none yssue, left his wife vnto his brother.
26 De la misma manera también el segundo, y el tercero, hasta los siete.
Likewise also the second, and the third, vnto the seuenth.
27 Y después de todos murió también la mujer.
And last of all the woman died also.
28 En la resurrección, pues, ¿cúya de los siete será la mujer? porque todos la tuvieron.
Therefore in the resurrection, whose wife shall she be of the seuen? for all had her.
29 Entonces respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Erráis, ignorando las escrituras, y el poder de Dios.
Then Iesus answered, and sayd vnto them, Ye are deceiued, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 Porque en la resurrección, ni se casan, ni se dan en matrimonio; mas son como los ángeles de Dios en el cielo.
For in the resurrection they neither marie wiues, nor wiues are bestowed in mariage, but are as the Angels of God in heauen.
31 Y de la resurrección de los muertos, ¿no habéis leído lo que es dicho por Dios a vosotros, que dice:
And concerning the resurrection of the dead, haue ye not read what is spoken vuto you of God, saying,
32 Yo soy el Dios de Abraham, y el Dios de Isaac, y el Dios de Jacob? Dios no es Dios de los muertos, sino de los que viven.
I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Iacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the liuing.
33 Y oyendo esto las multitudes estaban fuera de sí de su doctrina.
And when the multitude heard it, they were astonied at his doctrine.
34 Entonces los Fariseos, oyendo que había cerrado la boca a los Saduceos, se juntaron a una;
But when the Pharises had heard, that he had put the Sadduces to silence, they assembled together.
35 Y preguntó uno de ellos, intérprete de la ley, tentándole, y diciendo:
And one of them, which was an expounder of the Lawe, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
36 Maestro, ¿cuál es el mandamiento grande en la ley?
Master, which is ye great commandement in the Lawe?
37 Y Jesús le dijo: Amarás al Señor tu Dios de todo tu corazón, y de toda tu alma, y de toda tu mente.
Iesus sayd to him, Thou shalt loue the Lord thy God with all thine heart, with all thy soule, and with all thy minde.
38 Este es el primero y el grande mandamiento.
This is the first and the great commandement.
39 Y el segundo es semejante a éste: Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.
And the second is like vnto this, Thou shalt loue thy neighbour as thy selfe.
40 De estos dos mandamientos depende toda la ley, y los profetas.
On these two commandements hangeth the whole Lawe, and the Prophets.
41 Y estando juntos los Fariseos, Jesús les preguntó,
While the Pharises were gathered together, Iesus asked them,
42 Diciendo: ¿Qué os parece del Cristo? ¿Cúyo hijo es? Dícenle ellos: De David.
Saying, What thinke ye of Christ? whose sonne is he? They sayd vnto him, Dauids.
43 El les dice: Pues, ¿cómo David en Espíritu le llama Señor, diciendo:
He sayd vnto them, How then doeth Dauid in spirit call him Lord, saying,
44 Dijo el Señor a mi Señor: Asiéntate a mi diestra, entre tanto que pongo tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies?
The Lord sayd to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footestoole?
45 Pues si David le llama Señor, ¿cómo es su hijo?
If then Dauid call him Lord, howe is he his sonne?
46 Y nadie le podía responder palabra: ni osó alguno desde aquel día preguntarle más.
And none could answere him a worde, neither durst any from that day foorth aske him any moe questions.
