San Lucas 3
1 Y en el año quince del imperio de Tiberio César, siendo presidente de Judea Poncio Pilato, y Heródes tetrarca de Galilea, y su hermano Felipe tetrarca de Iturea y de la provincia de Traconite, y Lisania tetrarca de Abilina;
In the fiftenthe yeare of the raygne of Tiberius the Emperoure Pontius Pylate beinge leftenaut of Iurie and Herode beinge Tetrach of Galile and his brother Philip Tetrach in Iturea and in the region of Traconites and Lysanias the Tetrach of Abyline
2 Siendo sumos sacerdotes Annás y Caifás, fue la palabra del Señor a Juan, hijo de Zacarías, en el desierto.
when Anna and Cayphas were the hye prestes: the worde of God came vnto Iohn ye sonne of zacharias in the wildernes.
3 Y él vino en toda la tierra al derredor del Jordán, predicando el bautismo de arrepentimiento para remisión de pecados;
And he came in to all the coostes aboute Iordan preachynge the baptyme of repentaunce for the remission of synnes
4 Como está escrito en el libro de las palabras del profeta Isaías, que dice: Voz del que clama en el desierto: Aparejád el camino del Señor, hacéd derechas sus sendas.
at it is written in the boke of the sayinges of Esaias ye Prophet which sayeth: The voyce of a cryar in wyldernes prepare the waye of the Lorde make hys pathes strayght.
5 Todo valle se henchirá, y todo monte y collado se abajará; y lo torcido será enderezado, y los caminos ásperos allanados;
Every valley shalbe fylled and every moutayne and hyll shalbe brought lowe. And crocked thinges shalbe made streight: and the rough wayes shalbe made smoth:
6 Y verá toda carne la salvación de Dios.
and all flesshe shall se the saveour sent of God.
7 Y decía a las multitudes que salían para ser bautizadas por él: Generación de víboras, ¿quién os enseñó a huir de la ira que vendrá?
Then sayde he to the people that were come to be baptysed of him: O generacion of vipers who hath taught you to flye from the wrath to come?
8 Hacéd, pues, frutos dignos de arrepentimiento, y no comencéis a decir en vosotros mismos: Por padre tenemos a Abraham; porque os digo, que puede Dios, aun de estas piedras, levantar hijos a Abraham.
Bringe forth due frutes of repentaunce and begynne not to saye in youre selves we have Abraham to oure father. For I saye vnto you: God is able of these stones to reyse vp chyldren vnto Abraham.
9 Y ya también la hacha está puesta a la raíz de los árboles: todo árbol pues que no hace buen fruto, es talado, y echado en el fuego.
Now also ys the axe leyd vnto the rote of the trees: so yt every tree which bringeth not forth good frute shalbe hewe doune and caste in to ye fyre.
10 Y las multitudes le preguntaban, diciendo: ¿Pues, qué haremos?
And the people axed him sayinge: What shall we do then?
11 Y respondiendo, les dijo: El que tiene dos ropas, dé al que no tiene; y el que tiene alimentos, haga lo mismo.
He answered and sayde vnto them: He that hath two coottes let him parte with him that hath none: and he that hath meate let him do lyke wyse.
12 Y vinieron también publicanos para ser bautizados, y le dijeron: ¿Maestro, qué haremos nosotros?
Then came ther Publicans to be baptised and sayde vnto him: Master what shall we do?
13 Y él les dijo: No demandéis más de lo que os está ordenado.
And he sayde vnto the: requyre no more then that which ys appoynted vnto you.
14 Y le preguntaron también los soldados, diciendo: Y nosotros, ¿qué haremos? Y les dice: No maltratéis a nadie, ni oprimáis; y sed contentos con vuestros salarios.
The soudyoures lyke wyse demaunded of hym sayinge: and what shall we do? And he sayde to them: Do violence to noo ma: nether trouble eny man wrongfully: but be content with youre wages.
15 Y estando el pueblo esperando, y pensando todos de Juan en sus corazones, si él fuese el Cristo,
As the people were in a doute and all men disputed in their hertes of Iohn whether he were very Christ:
16 Respondió Juan, diciendo a todos: Yo, a la verdad, os bautizo con agua; mas viene uno que es más poderoso que yo, de quien no soy digno de desatar la correa de sus zapatos: él os bautizará con el Espíritu Santo y con fuego.
Ihon answered and sayde to them all: I baptyse you wt water but a stronger then I cometh after me whose shue latchet I am not worthy to vnlouse: he will baptise you with the holy goost and with fyre:
17 Cuyo aventador está en su mano; y limpiará su era, y juntará el trigo en su alfolí: mas quemará la paja en fuego que nunca se apagará.
which hath his fanne in his hond and will pourge his floore and will gader the corne into his barne: but the chaffe wyll he bourne with fyre that never shalbe quenched.
18 Así que amonestando otras muchas cosas también, anunciaba el evangelio al pueblo.
And many other thinges in his exhortacion preached he vnto the people.
19 Entonces Heródes el tetrarca, siendo reprendido por él a causa de Herodías, mujer de Felipe su hermano, y de todas las maldades que había hecho Heródes,
Then Herode the Tetrach (when he was rebuked of him for Herodias his brother Philippes wyfe and for all the evyls which Herod had done)
20 Añadió también esto sobre todo, que encerró a Juan en la cárcel.
added this above all and leyd Iohn in preson.
21 Y aconteció, que como todo el pueblo fue bautizado, y Jesús también fuese bautizado, y orase, el cielo se abrió,
And yt fortuned as all the people receaved baptyme (and when Iesus was baptised and dyd praye) that heave was opened
22 Y descendió el Espíritu Santo en forma corporal, como paloma, sobre él, y vino una voz del cielo que decía: Tú eres mi Hijo amado, en ti es mi placer.
and the holy goost came doune in a bodely shape lyke a dove vpo him and a voyce came fro heve sayinge: Thou arte my dere sonne in the do I delyte.
23 Y el mismo Jesús comenzaba a ser como de treinta años, siendo (como se creía, ) hijo de José, que fue hijo de Helí,
And Iesus him silfe was about thirty yere of age when he begane beinge as men supposed the sonne of Ioseph. which Ioseph was the sonne of Heli
24 Que fue de Mattat, que fue de Leví, que fue de Melqui, que fue de Janne, que fue de José,
which was the sonne of Mathat which was the sonne of Levi: which was the sonne of Melchi: which was the sonne of Ianna: which was the sonne of Ioseph:
25 Que fue de Mattatías, que fue de Amos, que fue de Naum, que fue de Esli, que fue de Nagge,
which was the sonne of Matatthias: which was the sonne of Amos: which was the sonne of Nahum: which was the sonne of Esli: which was the sonne of Nagge:
26 Que fue de Maat, que fue de Mattatías, que fue de Semeí, que fue de José, que fue de Judá,
which was the sonne of Maath: which was the sonne of Matathias: which was the sonne of Semei: which was the sonne of Ioseph: which was the sonne of Iuda:
27 Que fue de Joanna, que fue de Resa, que fue de Zorobabel, que fue de Salatiel, que fue de Neri,
which was the sonne of Iohanna: which was the sonne of Rhesya: which was the sonne of zorobabel: which was the sonne of Salathiel: which was the sonne of Neri:
28 Que fue de Melqui, que fue de Addi, que fue de Cosam, que fue de Elmodam, que fue de Er,
which was the sonne of Melchi: which was the sonne of Addi: which was the sonne of Cosam: which was the sonne of Helmadam: which was the sonne of Her:
29 Que fue de José, que fue de Eliezer, que fue de Jorim, que fue de Mattat, que fue de Leví,
which was the sonne of Ieso: which was the sonne of Helieser: which was the sonne of Ioram: which was the sonne of Mattha: which was the sonne of Levi:
30 Que fue de Simeón, que fue de Judá, que fue de José, que fue de Jonan, que fue de Eliacim,
which was the sonne of Simeon: which was the sonne of Iuda: which was the sonne of Ioseph: which was the sonne of Ionam: which was the sonne of Heliachim:
31 Que fue de Melea, que fue de Menan, que fue de Mattata, que fue de Natán, que fue de David,
which was the sonne of Melea: which was the sonne of Menam: which was the sonne of Mathathan: which was the sonne of Nathan: which was the sonne of David:
32 Que fue de Jessé, que fue de Obed, que fue de Booz, que fue de Salmón, que fue de Naasón,
which was the sonne of Iesse: which was the sonne of Obed: which was the sonne of Boos: which was the sonne of Salmon: which was the sonne of Naason:
33 Que fue de Aminadab, que fue de Aram, que fue de Esrom, que fue de Fares, que fue de Judá,
which was the sonne of Aminadab: which was the sonne of Aram: which was the sonne of Esrom: which was the sonne of Phares: which was the sonne of Iuda:
34 Que fue de Jacob, que fue de Isaac, que fue de Abraham, que fue de Tara, que fue de Nacor,
which was the sonne of Iacob: which was the sonne of Ysaac: which was the sonne of Abraham: which was the sonne of Tharra: which was the sonne of Nachor:
35 Que fue de Saruc, que fue de Ragau, que fue de Faleg, que fue de Jeber, que fue de Sala,
which was the sonne of Saruch: which was the sonne of Ragau: which was the sonne of Phalec: which was the sonne of Heber: which was the sonne of Sala:
36 Que fue de Cainán, que fue de Arfajad, que fue de Sem, que fue de Noé, que fue de Lamec,
which was the sonne of Cainan: which was the sonne of Arphaxat: which was the sonne of Sem: which was the sonne of Noe: which was the sonne of Lameth:
37 Que fue de Matusalén, que fue de Jenoc, que fue de Jared, que fue de Malaleel, que fue de Cainán,
which was the sonne of Mathusala: which was the sonne of Enoch: which was the sonne of Iareth: which was the sonne of Malalehel. which was the sonne of Cainan:
38 Que fue de Henós, que fue de Set, que fue de Adam, que fue de Dios.
which was the sonne of Enos: which was the sonne of Seth: which was the sonne of Adam: which was the sonne of God.
