San Lucas 19
1 Y habiendo entrado Jesús, pasaba por Jericó.
And [Jesus] entered and passed through Jericho.
2 Y, he aquí, un varón llamado Zaqueo el cual era príncipe de los publicanos, y era rico.
And, behold, [there was] a man named Zacchæus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
3 Y procuraba ver a Jesús quién fuese; mas no podía a causa de la multitud, porque era pequeño de estatura.
And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
4 Y corriendo delante, se subió en un árbol sicomoro, para verle; porque había de pasar por allí.
And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that [way].
5 Y como vino a aquel lugar Jesús, mirando le vio, y le dijo: Zaqueo, dáte priesa, desciende; porque hoy es menester que pose en tu casa.
And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchæus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.
6 Entonces él descendió apriesa, y le recibió gozoso.
And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.
7 Y viendo esto todos, murmuraban, diciendo, que había entrado a posar con un hombre pecador.
And when they saw [it], they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
8 Entonces Zaqueo, puesto en pie, dijo al Señor: He aquí, Señor, la mitad de mis bienes doy a los pobres; y si en algo he defraudado a alguno, se lo vuelvo con los cuatro tantos.
And Zacchæus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore [him] fourfold.
9 Y Jesús le dijo: Hoy ha venido la salvación a esta casa; por cuanto también él es hijo de Abraham.
And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
10 Porque el Hijo del hombre vino a buscar, y a salvar lo que se había perdido.
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
11 Y oyendo ellos estas cosas, prosiguiendo él, dijo una parábola, por cuanto estaba cerca de Jerusalem; y porque pensaban que luego había de ser manifestado el reino de Dios.
And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.
12 Dijo pues: Un hombre noble se partió a una tierra lejos, a tomar para sí un reino, y volver.
He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
13 Y llamados diez siervos suyos, les dio diez minas, y les dijo: Negociád entre tanto que vengo.
And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
14 Empero sus ciudadanos le aborrecían; y enviaron tras de él una embajada, diciendo: No queremos que éste reine sobre nosotros.
But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this [man] to reign over us.
15 Y aconteció, que vuelto él, habiendo tomado el reino, mandó llamar a sí a aquellos siervos, a los cuales había dado el dinero, para saber lo que había negociado cada uno.
And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
16 Y vino el primero, diciendo: Señor, tu mina ha ganado diez minas.
Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.
17 Y él le dice: Está bien, buen siervo: pues que en lo poco has sido fiel, ten autoridad sobre diez ciudades.
And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.
18 Y vino el segundo, diciendo: Señor, tu mina ha hecho cinco minas.
And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.
19 Y asimismo a éste dijo: Tú también sé sobre cinco ciudades.
And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.
20 Y vino otro, diciendo: Señor, he aquí tu mina, la cual he tenido guardada en un pañizuelo.
And another came, saying, Lord, behold, [here is] thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:
21 Porque tuve miedo de ti, pues que eres hombre severo: tomas lo que no pusiste, y siegas lo que no sembraste.
For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.
22 Entonces él le dijo: Mal siervo, por tu boca te juzgo: sabías que yo era hombre severo, que tomo lo que no puse, y que siego lo que no sembré;
And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, [thou] wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
23 ¿Por qué pues no diste mi dinero al banco; y yo viniendo lo demandara con el logro?
Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?
24 Y dijo a los que estaban presentes: Quitádle la mina, y dád la al que tiene las diez minas.
And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give [it] to him that hath ten pounds.
25 (Y ellos le dijeron: Señor, tiene diez minas.)
(And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)
26 Porque yo os digo que a cualquiera que tuviere, le será dado; mas al que no tuviere, aun lo que tiene le será quitado.
For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.
27 Mas a aquellos mis enemigos, que no querían que yo reinase sobre ellos, traéd los acá, y degollád los delante de mí.
But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay [them] before me.
28 Y dicho esto, iba delante subiendo a Jerusalem.
And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem.
29 Y aconteció, que llegando cerca de Betfage, y de Betania, al monte que se llama de las Olivas, envió dos de sus discípulos,
And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called [the mount] of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,
30 Diciendo: Id a la aldea que está delante, en la cual como entraréis, hallaréis un pollino atado en el cual ningún hombre jamás se ha sentado: desatádle, y traéd le acá.
Saying, Go ye into the village over against [you]; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring [him hither].
31 Y si alguien os preguntare: ¿Por qué le desatáis? le diréis así: Porque el Señor le ha menester.
And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose [him]? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.
32 Y fueron los que habían sido enviados, y hallaron, como él les dijo.
And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.
33 Y desatando ellos el pollino, sus dueños les dijeron: ¿Por qué desatáis el pollino?
And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?
34 Y ellos dijeron: Porque el Señor le ha menester.
And they said, The Lord hath need of him.
35 Y le trajeron a Jesús; y echando ellos sus ropas sobre el pollino, pusieron encima a Jesús.
And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.
36 Y yendo él, tendían sus vestidos por el camino.
And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.
37 Y como llegasen ya cerca de la descendida del monte de las Olivas, toda la multitud de los discípulos, regocijándose, comenzaron a alabar a Dios a gran voz por todas las maravillas que habían visto,
And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;
38 Diciendo: Bendito el rey que viene en nombre del Señor: paz en el cielo, y gloria en las alturas.
Saying, Blessed [be] the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
39 Entonces algunos de los Fariseos de entre la multitud le dijeron: Maestro, reprende a tus discípulos.
And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
40 Y él respondiendo, les dijo: Os digo que si estos callaren, las piedras clamarán.
And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
41 Y como llegó cerca, viendo la ciudad, lloró sobre ella,
And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
42 Diciendo: ¡ Ah, si tú conocieses, a lo menos en este tu día, lo que toca a tu paz! mas ahora está encubierto a tus ojos.
Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things [which belong] unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
43 Porque vendrán días sobre ti, que tus enemigos te cercarán con trinchera; y te pondrán cerco, y de todas partes te pondrán en estrecho;
For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,
44 Y te derribarán a tierra; y a tus hijos, los que están dentro de ti; y no dejarán en ti piedra sobre piedra; por cuanto no conociste el tiempo de tu visitación.
And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.
45 Y entrando en el templo, comenzó a echar fuera a todos los que vendían y compraban en él,
And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;
46 Diciéndoles: Escrito está: Mi casa, casa de oración es; mas vosotros la habéis hecho cueva de ladrones.
Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.
47 Y enseñaba cada día en el templo; mas los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los escribas, y los príncipes del pueblo procuraban matarle.
And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,
48 Y no hallaban que hacer le, porque todo el pueblo estaba suspenso oyéndole.
And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.
