San Lucas 11
1 Y aconteció que estando él orando en cierto lugar, como acabó, uno de sus discípulos le dijo: Señor, enséñanos a orar, como también Juan enseñó a sus discípulos.
It happened, that when he finished praying in a certain place, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples."
2 Y les dijo: Cuando orareis, decíd: Padre nuestro, que estás en los cielos, sea tu nombre santificado. Venga tu reino: sea hecha tu voluntad como en el cielo así también en la tierra.
So he said to them, "When you pray, say, 'Our Father in heaven, holy be your name. May your kingdom come. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
3 El pan nuestro de cada día dános le hoy.
Give us day by day our daily bread.
4 Y perdónanos nuestros pecados, porque también nosotros perdonamos a todos los que nos deben. Y no nos metas en tentación; mas líbranos de mal.
And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.'"
5 Les dijo también: ¿Quién de vosotros tendrá un amigo, e irá a él a media noche, y le dirá: Amigo préstame tres panes,
He said to them, "Which of you, if you go to a friend at midnight, and tell him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,
6 Porque un mi amigo ha venido a mí de camino, y no tengo que ponerle delante;
for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him,'
7 Y él dentro respondiendo, diga: No me seas molesto: la puerta está ya cerrada, y mis niños están conmigo en la cama: no puedo levantarme, y darte.
and he from within will answer and say, 'Do not bother me. The door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I cannot get up and give it to you'?
8 Dígoos, que aunque no se levante a darle por ser su amigo, cierto por su importunidad se levantará, y le dará todo lo que habrá menester.
I tell you, although he will not rise and give it to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence, he will get up and give him as many as he needs.
9 Y yo os digo: Pedíd, y se os dará: buscád, y hallaréis: tocád, y os será abierto.
"I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened to you.
10 Porque todo aquel que pide, recibe; y el que busca, halla; y al que toca, es abierto.
For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.
11 ¿Y cuál padre de vosotros, si su hijo le pidiere pan, le dará una piedra? ¿o, si un pescado, en lugar de pescado le dará una serpiente?
"Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, he won't give him a snake instead of a fish, will he?
12 ¿O, si le pidiere un huevo, le dará un escorpión?
Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?
13 Pues, si vosotros, siendo malos, sabéis dar buenas dádivas a vuestros hijos, ¿cuánto más vuestro Padre celestial dará el Espíritu Santo a los que le pidieren de él?
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?"
14 También echó fuera un demonio, el cual era mudo: y aconteció, que salido fuera el demonio, el mudo habló, y las gentes se maravillaron.
He was casting out a demon, and it was mute. It happened, when the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke; and the crowds were amazed.
15 Y algunos de ellos decían: Por Belzebú, príncipe de los demonios, echa fuera los demonios.
But some of them said, "He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons."
16 Y otros, tentándo le, pedían de él una señal del cielo.
Others, testing him, sought from him a sign from heaven.
17 Mas él, conociendo los pensamientos de ellos, les dijo: Todo reino dividido contra sí mismo es asolado; y casa dividida cae sobre casa.
But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation. A house divided against itself falls.
18 Y si también Satanás está dividido contra sí, ¿cómo estará en pie su reino? porque decís, que por Belzebú echo yo fuera los demonios.
If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul.
19 Pues si yo echo fuera los demonios por Belzebú, ¿vuestros hijos, por quién los echan fuera? por tanto ellos serán vuestros jueces.
But if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore will they be your judges.
20 Mas si con el dedo de Dios yo echo fuera los demonios, cierto el reino de Dios ha llegado a vosotros.
But if I by the finger of God cast out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come to you.
21 Cuando un hombre fuerte armado guarda su palacio, en paz está lo que posee.
"When the strong man, fully armed, guards his own dwelling, his goods are safe.
22 Mas si otro más fuerte que él sobreviniendo le venciere, le toma todas sus armas en que confiaba, y reparte sus despojos:
But when someone stronger attacks him and overcomes him, he takes from him his whole armor in which he trusted, and divides up his plunder.
23 El que no es conmigo, contra mí es; y el que conmigo no coge, derrama.
"He that is not with me is against me. He who does not gather with me scatters.
24 Cuando el espíritu inmundo saliere del hombre, anda por lugares secos buscando reposo, y no hallándo lo, dice: Me volveré a mi casa, de dónde salí.
The unclean spirit, when he has gone out of the person, passes through dry places, seeking rest, and finding none, he says, 'I will turn back to my house from which I came out.'
25 Y viniendo, la halla barrida y adornada.
When he returns, he finds it swept and put in order.
26 Entonces va, y toma otros siete espíritus peores que él, y entrados habitan allí; y son las postrimerías del tal hombre peores que las primerías.
Then he goes, and takes seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that person becomes worse than the first."
27 Y aconteció, que diciendo él estas cosas, una mujer de la multitud levantando la voz, le dijo: Bienaventurado el vientre que te trajo, y los pechos que mamaste.
It came to pass, as he said these things, a certain woman out of the crowd lifted up her voice, and said to him, "Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts which nursed you."
28 Y él dijo: Antes bienaventurados los que oyen la palabra de Dios, y la guardan.
But he said, "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it."
29 Y juntándose las multitudes a él, comenzó a decir: Esta generación mala es: señal busca, mas señal no le será dada, sino la señal de Jonás profeta.
When the crowds were gathering together to him, he began to say, "This generation is an evil generation. It seeks after a sign. No sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah.
30 Porque como Jonás fue señal a los Ninivitas, así también será el Hijo del hombre a esta generación.
For even as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will also the Son of Man be to this generation.
31 La reina del austro se levantará en juicio con los hombres de esta generación, y los condenará; porque vino de los fines de la tierra a oír la sabiduría de Salomón; y, he aquí, uno mayor que Salomón en este lugar.
The Queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with the people of this generation, and will condemn them: for she came from a distant land to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and look, one greater than Solomon is here.
32 Los hombres de Nínive se levantarán en juicio con esta generación, y la condenarán; porque a la predicación de Jonás se arrepintieron; y, he aquí, uno mayor que Jonás en este lugar.
The people of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and look, one greater than Jonah is here.
33 Nadie pone en oculto una candela encendida, ni debajo de un almud; sino en el candelero, para que los que entran, vean la luz.
"No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, that those who come in may see the light.
34 La luz del cuerpo es el ojo: si pues tu ojo fuere sencillo, también todo tu cuerpo será resplandeciente; mas si fuere malo, también tu cuerpo será tenebroso.
The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore when your eye is good, your whole body is also full of light; but when it is bad, your body also is full of darkness.
35 Mira pues, que la luz que en ti hay, no sea tinieblas.
Therefore see whether the light that is in you is not darkness.
36 Así que siendo todo tu cuerpo resplandeciente, no teniendo alguna parte de tiniebla, será todo luciente como cuando una luz de resplandor te alumbra.
If therefore your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly full of light, as when the lamp with its bright shining gives you light."
37 Y después que hubo hablado, le rogó un Fariseo que comiese con él; y entrado Jesús, se sentó a la mesa.
Now as he spoke, a Pharisee asked him to dine with him. He went in, and sat at the table.
38 Y el Fariseo como lo vio, se maravilló de que no se lavó antes de comer.
When the Pharisee saw it, he was surprised that he had not first washed himself before dinner.
39 Y el Señor le dijo: Ahora vosotros los Fariseos lo de fuera del vaso y del plato limpiáis; mas lo que está dentro de vosotros, está lleno de rapiña y de maldad.
The Lord said to him, "Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but your inward part is full of extortion and wickedness.
40 ¡Insensatos! ¿el que hizo lo de fuera, no hizo también lo de dentro?
You foolish ones, did not he who made the outside make the inside also?
41 Empero de lo que tenéis, dad limosna; y, he aquí, todo os será limpio.
But give for gifts to the needy those things which are within, and see, all things will be clean to you.
42 Mas ¡ay de vosotros Fariseos! que diezmáis la menta, y la ruda, y toda hortaliza; mas el juicio y el amor de Dios pasáis de largo. Empero estas cosas era menester hacer, y no dejar las otras.
But woe to you Pharisees. For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, but you bypass justice and the love of God. You ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone.
43 ¡Ay de vosotros Fariseos! que amáis las primeras sillas en las sinagogas, y las salutaciones en las plazas.
Woe to you Pharisees. For you love the best seats in the synagogues, and the greetings in the marketplaces.
44 ¡Ay de vosotros, escribas y Fariseos, hipócritas! que sois como sepulturas que no parecen, y los hombres que andan encima no lo saben.
Woe to you. For you are like hidden graves, and the people who walk over them do not know it."
45 Y respondiendo uno de los doctores de la ley, le dice: Maestro, cuando dices esto, también nos afrentas a nosotros.
One of the Law scholars answered him, "Teacher, in saying this you insult us also."
46 Y él dijo: ¡Ay de vosotros también, doctores de la ley! que cargáis los hombres con cargas que no pueden llevar; mas vosotros, ni aun con un dedo tocáis las cargas.
He said, "Woe to you Law scholars also. For you load people with burdens that are difficult to carry, and you yourselves won't even lift one finger to help carry those burdens.
47 ¡Ay de vosotros! que edificáis los sepulcros de los profetas, y los mataron vuestros padres.
Woe to you. For you build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
48 Cierto dais testimonio que consentís en los hechos de vuestros padres; porque a la verdad ellos los mataron, mas vosotros edificáis sus sepulcros.
So you are witnesses and consent to the works of your fathers. For they killed them, and you build their tombs.
49 Por tanto la sabiduría de Dios también dijo: Enviaré a ellos profetas y apóstoles, y de ellos a unos matarán, y a otros perseguirán.
Therefore also the wisdom of God said, 'I will send to them prophets and apostles; and some of them they will kill and persecute,
50 Para que de esta generación sea demandada la sangre de todos los profetas, que ha sido derramada desde la fundación del mundo:
that the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
51 Desde la sangre de Abel, hasta la sangre de Zacarías que murió entre el altar y el templo: En verdad os digo, será demandada de esta generación.
from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary.' Yes, I tell you, it will be required of this generation.
52 ¡Ay de vosotros, doctores de la ley! que os alzasteis con la llave de la ciencia: vosotros no entrasteis, y a los que entraban impedisteis.
Woe to you Law scholars. For you took away the key of knowledge. You did not enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in, you hindered."
53 Y diciéndoles estas cosas, los escribas y los Fariseos comenzaron a apretar le en gran manera, y a provocarle a que hablase de muchas cosas,
And when he left there, the scribes and the Pharisees began to oppose him bitterly, and to provoke him to speak about many things;
54 Asechándole, y procurando de cazar algo de su boca para acusarle.
lying in wait for him, seeking to catch him in something he might say, that they might accuse him.
