Josué 11
1 Oyendo esto Jabín rey de Asor, envió a Jobab rey de Madón, y al rey de Semrón, y al rey de Ascaf;
When Jabin, king of Hazor, heard this, he sent a message to Jobab, king of Madon, to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Akshaph.
2 Y a los reyes que estaban a la parte del norte en las montañas y en el llano al mediodía de Cenerot: y en los llanos, y en las regiones de Dor al occidente;
He also sent the message to the kings who were in the northern hill country, in the Jordan River valley south of Kinnereth, in the lowlands, and in Naphoth Dor to the west.
3 Y al Cananeo que estaba al oriente y al occidente: y al Amorreo, y al Jetteo, y al Ferezeo, y al Jebuseo en las montañas: y al Heveo que estaba debajo de Hermón en tierra de Maspa.
He also sent a message to the Canaanites to the east and west, the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites in the hill country, and the Hivites by Mount Hermon in the land of Mizpah.
4 Estos salieron, y con ellos todos sus ejércitos, un pueblo mucho en gran manera, como la arena que está a la orilla de la mar, caballos y carros, muchos en gran manera.
All their armies came out with them, a great number of soldiers, in number like the sand on the seashore. They had a great number of horses and chariots.
5 Todos estos reyes se juntaron, y viniendo juntaron los campos junto a las aguas de Merom, para pelear contra Israel.
All these kings met at the appointed time, and they camped at the waters of Merom to wage war with Israel.
6 Mas Jehová dijo a Josué: No tengas temor de ellos, que mañana a esta hora yo entregaré a todos estos muertos delante de Israel: a sus caballos desjarretarás, y sus carros quemarás a fuego.
Yahweh said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid in their presence, because tomorrow at this time I am giving them all to Israel as dead men. You will hamstring their horses, and you will burn their chariots.”
7 Y vino Josué, y con él todo el pueblo de guerra, contra ellos, y dio de repente sobre ellos juntos a las aguas de Merom.
Joshua and all the men of war came. They arrived suddenly at the waters of Merom, and attacked the enemy.
8 Y entrególos Jehová en mano de Israel, los cuales los hirieron, y siguieron hasta Sidón la grande, y hasta las aguas calientes, y hasta el llano de Maspa, al oriente, hiriéndolos hasta que no les dejaron ninguno.
Yahweh gave the enemy into the hand of Israel, and they struck them and pursued them to Sidon, Misrephoth Maim, and to the Valley of Mizpah to the east. They struck them until not even one survivor of them was left.
9 Y Josué hizo con ellos como Jehová le había mandado; desjarretó sus caballos, y sus carros quemó a fuego.
Joshua did to them just as Yahweh told him. He hamstrung the horses and burned the chariots.
10 Y tornándose Josué tomó en el mismo tiempo a Asor: e hirió a cuchillo a su rey. La cual Asor había sido antes cabeza de todos estos reinos.
Joshua turned back at that time and captured Hazor. He struck its king with the sword. (Hazor had been head of all these kingdoms.)
11 E hirieron a cuchillo todo cuanto en ella había vivo, destruyendo y no dejando cosa a vida. Y a Asor pusieron a fuego.
They struck with the sword every living creature that was there, and he set them apart to be destroyed, so there was not any living creature left alive. Then he burned Hazor.
12 Asimismo a todas las ciudades de aquestos reyes, y a todos los reyes de ellas tomó Josué, y les pasó a cuchillo, y los destruyó, como lo había mandado Moisés siervo de Jehová.
Joshua captured all the cities of these kings. He also captured all their kings and struck them with the edge of the sword. He completely destroyed them with the edge of the sword, just as Moses the servant of Yahweh had commanded.
13 Empero todas las ciudades que estaban en sus cabezos, no las quemó Israel, sacando a sola Asor, la cual quemó Josué.
Israel did not burn any of the cities built on mounds, except Hazor. It alone Joshua burned.
14 Y los hijos de Israel saquearon para sí todos los despojos y bestias de aquestas ciudades; empero a todos los hombres metieron a cuchillo hasta destruirlos, sin dejar cosa a vida.
The army of Israel took all the plunder from these cities along with the livestock for themselves. They killed every human being with the edge of the sword until all were dead. They left alive no creature that breathed.
15 De la manera que Jehová lo había mandado a Moisés su siervo, así Moisés lo mandó a Josué; y Josué lo hizo así, sin quitar palabra de todo lo que Jehová había mandado a Moisés.
Just as Yahweh had commanded his servant Moses, in the same way, Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did it. He left nothing undone of all that Yahweh commanded Moses to do.
16 Y tomó Josué toda esta tierra, las montañas, y toda la región del mediodía: y toda la tierra de Gosén, y los bajos y los llanos, y la montaña de Israel y sus valles;
Joshua took all that land, the hill country, all the Negev, all the land of Goshen, the foothills, the Jordan River valley, the hill country of Israel, and the lowlands.
17 Desde el monte de Hallak, que sube hasta Seir, hasta Baalgad en la llanura del Líbano a las raíces del monte de Hermón: tomó asimismo todos sus reyes, a los cuales hirió, y mató.
From Mount Halak near Edom, and going north as far as Baal Gad in the valley near Lebanon below Mount Hermon, he captured all their kings and killed them.
18 Por muchos días tuvo guerra Josué con estos reyes.
Joshua waged war for a long time with all the kings.
19 No hubo ciudad que hiciese paz con los hijos de Israel, sacados los Heveos, que moraban en Gabaón: todo lo tomaron por guerra.
Not one city made peace with the army of Israel except the Hivites who lived in Gibeon. Israel captured all the rest of the cities in battle.
20 Porque esto vino de Jehová, que endurecia el corazón de ellos para que resistiesen con guerra a Israel, para destruirlos y que no les fuese hecha misericordia, antes fuesen desarraigados, como Jehová lo había mandado a Moisés.
For it was Yahweh who hardened their hearts so they would wage war against Israel, so that he might completely destroy them without mercy, just as he had instructed Moses.
21 También en el mismo tiempo vino Josué, y destruyó los Enaceos de los montes, de Hebrón, de Dabir, y de Anab, y de todos los montes de Judá, y de todos los montes de Israel: Josué los destruyó a ellos y a sus ciudades.
Then Joshua came at that time and he destroyed the Anakim. He did this in the hill country, at Hebron, Debir, Anab, and in all the hill country of Judah, and in all the hill country of Israel. Joshua completely destroyed them and their cities.
22 Ninguno de los Enaceos quedó en la tierra de los hijos de Israel: solamente quedaron en Gaza, en Get, y en Azoto.
None of the Anakim were left in the land of Israel except at Gaza, Gath, and Ashdod.
23 Tomó pues Josué toda la tierra, conforme a todo lo que Jehová había dicho a Moisés. Y Josué la entregó a los Israelitas por herencia conforme a sus repartimientos de sus tribus. Y la tierra reposó de guerra.
So Joshua captured the whole land, just as Yahweh said to Moses. Joshua gave it as an inheritance to Israel, assigned to each of their tribes. Then the land had rest from the wars.
