1 Y al tercero día hiciéronse unas bodas en Cana de Galilea; y estaba allí la madre de Jesús.
On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and Jesus’ mother was there.
2 Y fue también llamado Jesús, y sus discípulos a las bodas.
Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding.
3 Y faltando el vino, la madre de Jesús le dijo: No tienen vino.
When they ran out of wine, Jesus’ mother told Him, “They have no wine.”
4 Y le dice Jesús: ¿Qué tengo yo que ver contigo, mujer? aun no ha venido mi hora.
Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My time has not yet come.”
5 Su madre dice a los que servían: Hacéd todo lo que él os dijere.
His mother told the servants, “Do whatever He tells you.”
6 Y estaban allí seis tinajuelas de piedra, conforme a la purificación de los Judíos, que cabía en cada una dos o tres cántaros.
Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding two to three metretes.
7 Díceles Jesús: Llenád estas tinajuelas de agua. Y las llenaron hasta arriba.
Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water,” so they filled them to the brim.
8 Y díceles: Sacád ahora, y presentád al maestresala. Y presentáronle.
Then He told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so,
9 Y como el maestresala gustó el agua hecha vino, y no sabía de donde era; (mas los que servían, lo sabían, que habían sacado el agua: ) el maestresala llama al esposo,
and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He didn’t realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside
10 Y le dice: Todo hombre pone primero el buen vino; y cuando ya están hartos, entonces lo que es peor; mas tú has guardado el buen vino hasta ahora.
and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first, and then the cheaper wine after the guests have drunk freely, but you have saved the best till now!”
11 Este principio de milagros hizo Jesús en Cana de Galilea, y manifestó su gloria; y sus discípulos creyeron en él.
Jesus did this beginning of signs in Cana of Galilee. He revealed His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.
12 Después de esto descendió a Capernaum, él, y su madre, y sus hermanos, y sus discípulos; y estuvieron allí no muchos días.
After this, He went down to Capernaum with His mother, His brothers, and His disciples, and they stayed there only a few days.
13 Y estaba cerca la pascua de los Judíos, y subió Jesús a Jerusalem.
The time for the Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
14 Y halló en el templo los que vendían bueyes, y ovejas, y palomas, y los cambiadores sentados.
He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers doing business.
15 Y hecho un azote de cuerdas, echólos a todos del templo, y las ovejas, y los bueyes, y derramó los dineros de los cambiadores, y trastornó las mesas.
When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers’ money and overturned the tables.
16 Y a los que vendían las palomas dijo: Quitád de aquí estas cosas, y no hagáis la casa de mi Padre casa de mercadería.
He told those who sold doves, “Take these things away! Don’t make my Father’s house a market place!”
17 Entonces se acordaron sus discípulos que estaba escrito: El zelo de tu casa me comió.
Then His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for Your house will consume me.”
18 Y los Judíos respondieron, y le dijeron: ¿Qué señal nos muestras, siendo así que tú haces estas cosas?
So the Jews answered and asked Him, “What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?”
19 Respondió Jesús, y les dijo: Destruíd este templo, y en tres días yo lo levantaré.
Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
20 Dijeron luego los Judíos: ¿En cuarenta y seis años fue este templo edificado, y tú en tres días lo levantarás?
Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?”
21 Mas él hablaba del templo de su cuerpo.
But the temple He had spoken of was His body.
22 Por tanto cuando resucitó de los muertos, sus discípulos se acordaron que les había dicho esto, y creyeron a la Escritura, y a la palabra que Jesús había dicho.
After He was raised from the dead, His disciples recalled what He had said. Then they believed the Scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.
23 Y estando él en Jerusalem en la pascua, en el día de la fiesta, muchos creyeron en su nombre, viendo los milagros que hacía.
Now while He was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many people saw the miraculous signs He was doing and believed in His name.
24 Mas el mismo Jesús no se confiaba a sí mismo de ellos, porque él conocía a todos,
But Jesus didn’t commit Himself to them, because He knew all people,
25 Y no tenía necesidad que alguien le diese testimonio del hombre; porque él sabía lo que había en el hombre.
and had no need for anyone to testify about people, for He knew what was in people.
