Job 19

1 Y respondió Job, y dijo:

Then Job answered and said,

2 ¿Hasta cuándo angustiaréis mi alma: y me moleréis con palabras?

How long will you vex my soul, and destroy me with words? only know that the Lord has dealt with me thus.

3 Ya me habéis avergonzado diez veces: no tenéis vergüenza de afrentarme.

You speak against me; you do not feel for me, but bear hard upon me.

4 Sea así, que de cierto yo haya errado: conmigo se quedará mi yerro.

Yes verily, I have erred in truth, (but the error abides with myself) in having spoken words which it was not right [to speak]; and my words err, and are unreasonable.

5 Mas si vosotros os engrandeciereis contra mí, y redarguyereis contra mí mi oprobrio:

But alas! for you magnify yourselves against me, and insult me with reproach.

6 Sabéd ahora, que Dios, me trastornó, y trajo al derredor su red sobre mí.

Know then that it is the Lord that has troubled [me], and has raised his bulwark against me.

7 He aquí, yo clamaré agravio, y no seré oído: daré voces, y no habrá juicio.

Behold, I laugh at reproach; I will not speak: [or] I will cry out, but [there is] nowhere judgment.

8 Cercó de vallado mi camino, y no pasaré; y sobre mis veredas puso tinieblas.

I am fenced round about, and can by no means escape: he has set darkness before my face.

9 Quitóme mi honra, y quitó la corona de mi cabeza.

And he has stripped me of my glory, and has taken the crown from my head.

10 Arrancóme al derredor, y me fui; e hizo ir, como de un árbol, mi esperanza.

He has torn me around about, and I am gone: and he has cut off my hope like a tree.

11 E hizo inflamar contra mí su furor; y contóme a sí entre sus enemigos.

And he has dreadfully handled me in anger, and has counted me for an enemy.

12 Vinieron sus ejércitos a una, y trillaron sobre mí su camino; y asentaron campo en derredor de mi tienda.

His troops also came upon me with one accord, liars in wait compassed my ways.

13 Mis hermanos hizo alejar de mí, y mis conocidos ciertamente se extrañaron de mí.

My brethren have stood aloof from me; they have recognized strangers [rather] than me: and my friends have become pitiless.

14 Mis parientes se detuvieron; y mis conocidos se olvidaron de mí.

My nearest of kin have not acknowledged me, and they that knew my name, have forgotten me.

15 Los moradores de mi casa, y mis criadas, me tuvieron por extraño: extraño fui yo en sus ojos.

[As for] my household, and my maidservants, I was a stranger before them.

16 Llamé a mi siervo, y no respondió; de mi propia boca le rogaba.

I called my servant, and he listened not; and my mouth entreated [him].

17 Mi aliento fue hecho extraño a mi mujer, y por los hijos de mi vientre le rogaba.

And I implored my wife, and earnestly entreated the sons of my concubines.

18 Aun los muchachos me menospreciaron: en levantándome, luego hablaban contra mí.

But they rejected me for ever; whenever I rise up, they speak against me.

19 Todos los varones de mi secreto me aborrecieron; y los que yo amaba, se tornaron contra mí.

They that saw me abhorred me: the very persons whom I had loved, rose up against me.

20 Mi hueso se pegó a mi piel y a mi carne, y he escapado con el cuero de mis dientes.

My flesh is corrupt under my skin, and my bones are held in [my] teeth.

21 ¡Oh vosotros mis amigos tenéd compasión de mí, tenéd compasión de mí! porque la mano de Dios me ha tocado.

Pity me, pity me, O friends; for it is the hand of the Lord that has touched me.

22 ¿Por qué me perseguís como Dios, y no os hartáis de mis carnes?

Therefore do you persecute me as also the Lord [does], and are not satisfied with my flesh?

23 ¿Quién diese ahora que mis palabras fuesen escritas? ¿Quién diese que se escribiesen en un libro?

For oh that my words were written, and that they were recorded in a book forever,

24 ¿Qué con cincel de hierro y con plomo fuesen en piedra esculpidas para siempre?

with an iron pen and lead, or graven in the rocks!

25 Yo sé que mi Redentor vive, y que al fin se levantará sobre el polvo.

For I know that he is eternal who is about to deliver me,

26 Y después, desde este mi roto cuero, y desde mi propia carne tengo de ver a Dios:

[and] to raise up upon the earth my skin that endures these [sufferings]: for these things have been accomplished to me of the Lord;

27 Al cual yo tengo de ver por mí, y mis ojos le han de ver, y no otro, [aunque] mis riñones se consuman dentro de mí.

which I am conscious of in myself, which mine eye has seen, and not another, but all have been fulfilled to me in [my] bosom.

28 ¿Por qué no decís: Por qué le perseguimos? pues que la raíz del negocio se halla en mí.

But if you shall also say, What shall we say before him, and [so] find the root of the matter in him?

29 Teméd a vosotros delante de la espada; porque la ira de la espada de las maldades viene: porque sepáis que hay juicio.

Do you also beware of deceit: for wrath will come upon transgressors; and then shall they know where their substance is.
