Oseas 4

1 Oíd palabra de Jehová, hijos de Israel; porque Jehová pleitea con los moradores de la tierra; porque no hay verdad, ni misericordia, ni conocimiento de Dios en la tierra.

Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because [there is] no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

2 Perjurar, y mentir, y matar, y hurtar, y adulterar prevalecieron, y sangres se tocaron contra sangres.

By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.

3 Por lo cual la tierra se enlutará, y será talado todo morador de ella, con las bestias del campo, y las aves del cielo; y aun los peces de la mar serán cogidos.

Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth in it shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yes, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.

4 Ciertamente hombre no contienda ni reprenda a hombre; porque tu pueblo es como los que resisten al sacerdote.

Yet let no man contend, nor reprove another: for thy people [are] as they that contend with the priest.

5 Caerás pues en este día, y caerá también contigo el profeta de noche; y a tu madre talaré.

Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother.

6 Mi pueblo fue talado, porque le faltó sabiduría. Porque tú desechaste la sabiduría, yo te echaré del sacerdocio; y pues que olvidaste la ley de tu Dios, también yo me olvidaré de tus hijos.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

7 Conforme a su grandeza así pecaron contra mí: yo pues también trocaré su honra en vergüenza.

As they were increased, so they sinned against me: [therefore] will I change their glory into shame.

8 Comen del pecado de mi pueblo, y en su maldad levantan su alma.

They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity.

9 Y tal será el pueblo como el sacerdote; y visitaré sobre él sus caminos, y pagarle he conforme a sus obras.

And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings.

10 Y comerán, mas no se hartarán: fornicarán, mas no se aumentarán, porque dejaron de guardar a Jehová.

For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall be guilty of lewdness, and shall not increase: because they have ceased to take heed to the LORD.

11 Fornicación, y vino, y mosto quitan el corazón.

Lewdness and wine and new wine take away the heart.

12 Mi pueblo en su madera pregunta, y su palo le responde; porque espíritu de fornicaciones le engañó, y fornicaron debajo de sus dioses.

My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth to them: for the spirit of lewdness hath caused [them] to err, and they have gone astray from under their God.

13 Sobre los cabezos de los montes sacrificaron, y sobre los collados incensaron: debajo de encinas, y álamos, y olmos que tuviesen buena sombra: por tanto vuestras hijas fornicarán, y vuestras nueras adulterarán.

They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shade of them is agreeable: therefore your daughters shall be guilty of lewdness, and your spouses shall commit adultery.

14 No visitaré sobre vuestras hijas cuando fornicaren, ni sobre vuestras nueras cuando adulteraren; porque ellos ofrecen con las rameras, y con las malas mujeres sacrifican: por tanto el pueblo sin entendimiento caerá.

I will not punish your daughters when they are guilty of lewdness, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for they themselves are separated with prostitutes, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people [that] doth not understand shall fall.

15 Si fornicares tú, Israel, a lo menos no peque Judá; y no entréis en Gálgala, ni subáis a Bet-aven, ni juréis: Vive Jehová.

Though thou, Israel, playest the harlot, [yet] let not Judah offend; and come not ye to Gilgal, neither go ye up to Beth-aven, nor swear, The LORD liveth.

16 Porque como becerra cerrera revacó Israel: apaciéntalos ahora Jehová, como a carneros en anchura.

For Israel slideth back as a backsliding heifer: now the LORD will feed them as a lamb in a large place.

17 Efraím es dado a ídolos, déjale.

Ephraim [is] joined to idols: let him alone.

18 Su bebida se corrompió, fornicando fornicaron, amaron los dones: lo cual es afrenta de sus príncipes.

Their drink is sour: they have been guilty of lewd deeds continually: her rulers [with] shame do love, Give ye.

19 Atóla el viento en sus alas, y de sus sacrificios serán avergonzados.

The wind hath bound her up in her wings, and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices.
