Hebreos 5
1 Porque todo sumo sacerdote tomado de entre los hombres, es constituido en favor de los hombres en lo que a Dios toca, para que ofrezca presentes, y también sacrificios por los pecados:
For every high priest, having been taken from among men, is appointed on behalf of men toward the things which pertain to God, so that he may offer gifts and sacrifices on behalf of sins;
2 Que se pueda compadecer de los ignorantes y de los errados, porque él también está rodeado de flaqueza:
he is able to commiserate with those who are ignorant and who wander astray, because he himself is also encompassed by infirmity.
3 Por causa de la cual deba, como por el pueblo así también por sí mismo, ofrecer sacrificios por los pecados.
And because of this, he also must make such offerings for sins even for himself, in the same manner as for the people.
4 Ni nadie toma para sí mismo esta honra, sino el que es llamado de Dios, como lo fue Aarón.
Neither does anyone take up this honor himself, but rather he who is called by God, just as Aaron was.
5 Así también Cristo no se glorificó a sí mismo, para ser hecho sumo sacerdote, sino el que le dijo: Tú eres mi Hijo, yo te he engendrado hoy.
Thus, even Christ did not glorify himself, so as to become High Priest, but instead, it was God who said to him: “You are my Son. Today I have begotten you.”
6 Como también dice en otro lugar: Tú eres sacerdote eternamente, según el orden de Melquisedec. (aiōn g165)
And similarly, he says in another place: “You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.” (aiōn g165)
7 El cual en los días de su carne, habiendo ofrecido ruegos y también suplicaciones con gran clamor y lágrimas a aquel que le podía librar de la muerte, fue oído y librado de su miedo.
It is Christ who, in the days of his flesh, with a strong cry and tears, offered prayers and supplications to the One who was able to save him from death, and who was heard because of his reverence.
8 Y aunque era Hijo, sin embargo por lo que padeció aprendió la obediencia;
And although, certainly, he is the Son of God, he learned obedience by the things that he suffered.
And having reached his consummation, he was made, for all who are obedient to him, the cause of eternal salvation, (aiōnios g166)
10 Nombrado de Dios sumo sacerdote según el orden de Melquisedec.
having been called by God to be the High Priest, according to the order of Melchizedek.
11 Del cual tenemos mucho que decir, y dificultoso de declarar, por cuanto sois perezosos para oír.
Our message about him is great, and difficult to explain when speaking, because you have been made feeble when listening.
12 Porque debiendo de ser ya maestros, a causa del tiempo, tenéis necesidad de volver a ser enseñados, de cuáles sean los elementos del principio de los oráculos de Dios, y sois hechos tales que tengáis necesidad de leche, y no de mantenimiento firme.
For even though it is the time when you ought to be teachers, you are still lacking, so that you must be taught the things that are the basic elements of the Word of God, and so you have been made like those who are in need of milk, and not of solid food.
13 Que cualquiera que usa de leche, no tiene aun experiencia de la palabra de justicia, porque es niño.
For anyone who is still feeding on milk is still unskillful in the Word of Justice; for he is like an infant.
14 Mas de los ya hombres perfectos es la vianda firme, es a saber, de los que por la costumbre tienen ya los sentidos ejercitados a la discreción del bien y del mal.
But solid food is for those who are mature, for those who, by practice, have sharpened their mind, so as to discern good from evil.
