Hebreos 10
1 Porque la ley teniendo solo la sombra de los bienes venideros, y no la imagen misma de las cosas, nunca puede, por los mismos sacrificios que ofrecen continuamente cada un año, hacer perfectos a los que se allegan.
For the law is only a shadow of the good things to come, not the real forms of those things themselves. Those who approach God can never be made perfect by the same sacrifices that the priests continually bring year after year.
2 De otra manera habrían cesado de ser ofrecidos; porque los que dan culto, purificados una vez, no tendrían más conciencia de pecado.
Otherwise, would the sacrifices not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed one time and would no longer have any consciousness of sin.
3 Empero en estos sacrificios cada año se hace el mismo recordamiento de los pecados.
But with those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year after year.
4 Porque es imposible que la sangre de los toros y de los machos de cabrío quite los pecados.
For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
5 Por lo cual entrando en el mundo, dice: Sacrificio y ofrenda no quisiste, mas a mí me apropriaste un cuerpo:
When Christ came into the world, he said, “Sacrifices and offerings you did not desire, but a body you have prepared for me;
6 Holocaustos y expiaciones por el pecado no te agradaron.
with burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not take pleasure.
7 Entonces dije: Héme aquí, (en la cabecera del libro está escrito de mí, ) para que haga, oh Dios, tu voluntad.
Then I said, 'See, here I am— as it is written about me in the scroll— to do your will.'”
8 Diciendo arriba: Sacrificio y ofrenda, y holocaustos, y expiaciones por el pecado, no quisiste, ni te agradaron, las cuales cosas se ofrecen según la ley:
First he said, “It was neither sacrifices, nor offerings, nor whole burnt offerings, nor sacrifices for sin that you desired. Nor did you take pleasure in them.” These are sacrifices that are offered according to the law.
9 Entonces dijo: Héme aquí para que haga, oh Dios, tu voluntad. Quita lo primero, para establecer lo segundo.
Then he said, “See, here I am to do your will.” He takes away the first practice in order to establish the second practice.
10 Por la cual voluntad somos los santificados, por medio de la ofrenda del cuerpo de Jesu Cristo hecha una sola vez para siempre.
By that will, we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11 Y ciertamente todo sacerdote está en pie cada día ministrando y ofreciendo muchas veces los mismos sacrificios, que nunca pueden quitar los pecados;
Day after day every priest stands and performs his service to God. He offers the same sacrifices again and again—sacrifices that can never take away sins.
12 Pero éste, habiendo ofrecido por los pecados un solo sacrificio, está asentado para siempre a la diestra de Dios,
But when Christ offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God.
13 Esperando lo que resta, es a saber, hasta que sus enemigos sean puestos por escabelo de sus pies;
He is waiting until his enemies are made a stool for his feet.
14 Porque con una sola ofrenda hizo consumados para siempre a los santificados.
For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.
15 Y el Espíritu Santo también nos lo testifica: que después que dijo:
The Holy Spirit also testifies to us. First he said,
16 Este es el concierto que yo haré con ellos después de aquellos días, dice el Señor: Pondré mis leyes en sus corazones y en sus mentes las escribiré;
“This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.
17 Y nunca más ya me acordaré de sus pecados e iniquidades.
Their sins and lawless deeds I will remember no longer.”
18 Pues en donde hay remisión de estos, no hay ya más ofrenda por pecado.
Now where there is forgiveness for these, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin.
19 Así que, hermanos, teniendo libertad para entrar en el lugar santísimo por la sangre de Jesu Cristo,
Therefore, brothers, we have confidence to enter into the most holy place by the blood of Jesus.
20 Por un nuevo camino, y vivo, que él mismo consagró para nosotros, por medio del velo, es a saber, por su carne;
That is the new and living way that he has opened for us through the curtain, that is, by means of his flesh.
21 Y teniendo un gran sacerdote sobre la casa de Dios;
Because we have a great priest over the house of God,
22 Acerquémosnos a él con corazón verdadero, en cumplida certidumbre de fe, asperjados los corazones, y limpios de mala conciencia, y lavados los cuerpos con agua pura,
let us approach with true hearts in the full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
23 Retengamos firme la confesión de nuestra esperanza, inmoble; (que fiel es el que ha prometido; )
Let us also hold tightly to the confession of our hope without wavering, because God, who has promised, is faithful.
24 Y considerémosnos los unos a los otros para provocarnos a amor, y a buenas obras:
Let us consider how to motivate one another to love and good deeds.
25 No dejando nuestra congregación, como algunos tienen por costumbre, mas exhortándonos; y tanto más, cuanto veis que aquel día se acerca.
Let us not stop meeting together, as some have done. Instead, encourage one another more and more, and all the more as you see the day coming closer.
26 Porque si pecamos voluntariamente después de haber recibido el conocimiento de la verdad, ya no queda sacrificio por los pecados;
For if we deliberately go on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, a sacrifice for sins no longer exists.
27 Sino una horrenda expectación de juicio, y hervor de fuego que ha de devorar a los adversarios.
Instead, there is only a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume God's enemies.
28 El que menospreciare la ley de Moisés, por el testimonio de dos o de tres testigos muere sin ninguna misericordia:
Anyone who has rejected the law of Moses dies without mercy at the testimony of two or three witnesses.
29 ¿Cuánto pensáis que será más digno de mayor castigo, el que hollare al Hijo de Dios, y tuviere por inmunda la sangre del concierto con la cual fue santificado, y ultrajare al Espíritu de gracia?
How much worse punishment do you think one deserves who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, who treated the blood of the covenant as unholy—the blood by which he was sanctified—and insulted the Spirit of grace?
30 Porque sabemos quién es el que dijo: Mía es la venganza, yo daré el pago, dice el Señor. Y otra vez: El Señor juzgará su pueblo.
For we know the one who said, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will pay back.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.”
31 Horrenda cosa es caer en las manos del Dios vivo.
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God!
32 Traéd empero a la memoria los días primeros, en los cuales después de haber sido iluminados, sufristeis gran combate de aflicciones:
But remember the former days, after you were enlightened, how you endured a great struggle in suffering.
33 De una parte, ciertamente, mientras fuisteis hechos el hazmereír tanto por oprobios como por tribulaciones; y de otra parte ínterin fuisteis hechos compañeros de los que de aquel modo eran tratados.
You were exposed to public ridicule by insults and persecution, and you were sharing with those who went through such suffering.
34 Porque os compadecisteis también de mí en mis cadenas, y aceptasteis con gozo la rapiña de vuestros bienes, conociendo que tenéis para vosotros mismos una mejor sustancia en los cielos, y que permanece.
For you had compassion on those who were prisoners, and you accepted with joy the seizure of your possessions. You knew that you yourselves had a better and everlasting possession.
35 No perdáis pues esta vuestra confianza, que tiene grande remuneración de galardón;
So do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.
36 Porque la paciencia os es necesaria, para que, habiendo hecho la voluntad de Dios, recibáis la promesa.
For you need patience, so that you may receive what God has promised, after you have done his will.
37 Porque aun un poquito de tiempo, y el que ha de venir vendrá, y no tardará.
“For in a very little while, the one who is coming will indeed come and not delay.
38 Mas el justo vivirá por fe; empero si se retirare, no se complacerá mi alma en él.
My righteous one will live by faith. If he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him.”
39 Mas nosotros no somos de los de retiramiento para perdición, mas de fe para ganancia del alma.
But we are not any of those who turn back to destruction. Instead, we are some of those who have faith for keeping our soul.
