Génesis 1
1 En el principio creó Dios los cielos y la tierra.
B'resheet Elohim bara' ·In the beginning of the beginning, God created from nothingness· the heavens and the earth.
2 Y la tierra estaba desadornada y vacía; y las tinieblas estaban sobre la haz del abismo: y el Espíritu de Dios se movía sobre la haz de las aguas.
Earth was tohu v'bohu ·void and chaos·. Darkness was on the surface of the deep and Ruach Elohim ·Spirit of God· was hovering over the surface of the waters.
3 Y dijo Dios: Sea la luz: y fue la luz.
God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
4 Y vio Dios que la luz era buena: y apartó Dios a la luz de las tinieblas.
God saw the light, and saw that it was good. God divided the light from the darkness.
5 Y llamó Dios a la luz Día; y a las tinieblas llamó Noche: y fue la tarde y la mañana un día.
God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night”. There was evening and there was morning, the first yom ·period of time, day·.
6 Y dijo Dios: Sea un extendimiento en medio de las aguas, y haga apartamiento entre aguas y aguas.
God said, “Let there be an expanse in the middle of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.”
7 E hizo Dios un extendimiento, y apartó las aguas que están debajo del extendimiento, de las aguas que están sobre el extendimiento: y fue así.
God made the expanse, and divided the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so·.
8 Y llamó Dios al extendimiento Cielos: y fue la tarde y la mañana el día segundo.
God called the expanse “shamayim ·sky, heavens·”. There was evening and there was morning, a second yom ·period of time, day·.
9 Y dijo Dios: Júntense las aguas que están debajo de los cielos en un lugar, y descúbrase la seca: y fue así.
God said, “Let the waters under the sky be gathered together to one place, and let the dry land appear;” and it was so.
10 Y llamó Dios a la seca, Tierra; y al juntamiento de las aguas llamó Mares: y vio Dios que era bueno.
God called the dry land “earth,” and the gathering together of the waters he called “sea”. God saw that it was good.
11 Y dijo Dios: Produzca la tierra yerba verde, yerba que haga simiente: árbol de fruto que haga fruto según su naturaleza, que su simiente esté en él sobre la tierra: y fue así.
God said, “Let the earth yield grass, herbs yielding seeds, and fruit trees bearing fruit after their kind, with their seeds in it, on the earth;” and it was so.
12 Y produjo la tierra yerba verde, yerba que hace simiente según su naturaleza, y árbol que hace fruto, que su simiente está en él según su naturaleza: y vio Dios que era bueno.
The earth yielded grass, herbs yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, with their seeds in it, after their kind; and God saw that it was good.
13 Y fue la tarde y la mañana el día tercero.
There was evening and there was morning, a third yom ·period of time, day·.
14 Y dijo Dios: Sean luminares en el extendimiento de los cielos para apartar el día y la noche: y sean por señales, y por tiempos determinados, y por días y años:
God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of sky to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs to mark seasons and appointed times, days, and years;
15 Y sean por luminares en el extendimiento de los cielos para alumbrar sobre la tierra: y fue así.
and let them be for lights in the expanse of sky to give light on the earth;” and it was so.
16 E hizo Dios los dos luminares grandes: el luminar grande para que señorease en el día, y el luminar pequeño para que señorease en la noche, y las estrellas.
God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He also made the stars.
17 Y púsolos Dios en el extendimiento de los cielos, para alumbrar sobre la tierra;
God set them in the expanse of sky to give light to the earth,
18 Y para señorear en el día y en la noche, y para apartar la luz y las tinieblas: y vio Dios que era bueno.
and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. God saw that it was good.
19 Y fue la tarde y la mañana el día cuarto.
There was evening and there was morning, a fourth 'yom ·period of time, day·.
20 Y dijo Dios: Produzcan las aguas reptil de ánima viviente, y aves que vuelen sobre la tierra, sobre la haz del extendimiento de los cielos.
God said, “Let the waters abound with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of sky.”
21 Y creó Dios las grandes ballenas, y toda cosa viva, que anda arrastrando, que las aguas produjeron según sus naturalezas: y toda ave de alas según su naturaleza: y vio Dios que era bueno.
God created the large sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind. God saw that it was good.
22 Y bendíjolos Dios, diciendo: Fructificad y multiplicad, y henchíd las aguas en las mares; y las aves se multipliquen en la tierra.
God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”
23 Y fue la tarde y la mañana el día quinto.
There was evening and there was morning, a fifth 'yom ·period of time, day·.
24 Y dijo Dios: Produzca la tierra ánima viviente según su naturaleza, bestias, y serpientes, y animales de la tierra según su naturaleza: y fue así.
God said, “Let the earth produce nefesh chai ·soul living· creatures after their kind, livestock, creeping things, and animals of the earth after their kind;” and it was so.
25 E hizo Dios animales de la tierra según su naturaleza y bestias según su naturaleza; y todas serpientes de la tierra según su naturaleza: y vio Dios que era bueno.
God made the animals of the earth after their kind, and the livestock after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind. God saw that it was good.
26 Y dijo Dios: Hagamos al hombre a nuestra imagen, conforme a nuestra semejanza; y señoreen en los peces de la mar, y en las aves de los cielos, y en las bestias, y en toda la tierra, y en toda serpiente que anda arrastrando sobre la tierra.
God said, “Let us make a 'adam ·human· in our image, after our likeness: and let them have authority over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the sky, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
27 Y creó Dios al hombre a su imagen, a imagen de Dios le creó: macho y hembra los creó.
God created man in his own likeness. In God’s image he created him; zachar ·male· and n'keivah ·female· he created them.
28 Y bendíjolos Dios, y díjoles Dios: Fructificad y multiplicad, y henchíd la tierra, y sojuzgadla, y señoread en los peces de la mar, y en las aves de los cielos, y en todas las bestias, que se mueven sobre la tierra.
God blessed them. God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and bring it into subjection, subdue it. Have authority over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
29 Y dijo Dios: He aquí, os he dado toda yerba que hace simiente, que está sobre la haz de toda la tierra: y todo árbol en que hay fruto de árbol que haga simiente, seros ha para comer.
God said, “Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree, which bears fruit yielding seed. It will be your food.
30 Y a toda bestia de la tierra, y a todas las aves de los cielos, y a todo lo que se mueve sobre la tierra en que hay ánima viviente; toda verdura de yerba será para comer. Y fue así.
To every animal of the earth, and to every bird of the sky, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food;” and it was so.
31 Y vio Dios todo lo que había hecho, y he aquí que era bueno en gran manera: y fue la tarde y la mañana el día sexto.
God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was m'ohd tov ·exceedingly good·. There was evening and there was morning, a sixth 'yom ·period of time, day·.
