Gálatas 5

1 Estád, pues, firmes en la libertad con que Cristo nos libertó; y no volváis otra vez a sujetaros bajo el yugo de servidumbre.

Stand fast therefore in the libertie wherewith Christ hath made vs free, and be not intangled againe with the yoke of bondage.

2 He aquí, yo Pablo os digo: Que si os circuncidareis, Cristo no os aprovechará nada.

Beholde, I Paul say vnto you, that if yee be circumcised, Christ shall profite you nothing.

3 Y otra vez vuelvo a protestar a todo hombre que se circuncidare, que está obligado a hacer toda la ley.

For I testifie againe to euery man, which is circumcised, that he is bound to keepe the whole Lawe.

4 Cristo se ha hecho para vosotros inútil, los que pretendéis ser justificados por la ley; de la gracia habéis caído.

Ye are abolished from Christ: whosoeuer are iustified by the Law, ye are fallen from grace.

5 Mas nosotros, por el Espíritu, aguardamos la esperanza de justicia por la fe.

For we through the Spirit waite for the hope of righteousnes through faith.

6 Porque en Cristo Jesús ni la circuncisión vale algo, ni la incircuncisión; sino la fe que obra por el amor.

For in Iesus Christ neither circumcision auaileth any thing, neither vncircumcision, but faith which worketh by loue.

7 Corríais bien: ¿quién os impidió para no obedecer a la verdad?

Ye did runne well: who did let you, that ye did not obey the trueth?

8 Esta persuasión no es de aquel que os llama.

It is not the perswasion of him that calleth you.

9 Un poco de levadura leuda toda la masa.

A litle leauen doeth leauen the whole lumpe.

10 Yo confío de vosotros en el Señor, que ninguna otra cosa pensaréis; mas el que os inquieta, llevará el juicio, quienquiera que él sea.

I haue trust in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but hee that troubleth you, shall beare his condemnation, whosoeuer he be.

11 Mas yo, hermanos, si aun predico la circuncisión, ¿por qué, pues, padezco persecución? Luego cesado ha la ofensa de la cruz.

And brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why doe I yet suffer persecution? Then is the slaunder of the crosse abolished.

12 Ojalá fuesen aun cortados los que os alborotan.

Would to God they were euen cut off, which doe disquiet you.

13 Porque vosotros, hermanos, habéis sido llamados a libertad; solamente que no pongáis la libertad por ocasión a la carne, sino que os sirváis por amor los unos a los otros.

For brethren, ye haue bene called vnto libertie: onely vse not your libertie as an occasion vnto the flesh, but by loue serue one another.

14 Porque toda la ley en una palabra se cumple, a saber, en esta: Amarás a tu prójimo, como a ti mismo.

For all the Lawe is fulfilled in one worde, which is this, Thou shalt loue thy neighbour as thy selfe.

15 Mas si los unos a los otros os mordéis, y os coméis, mirád que no seáis consumidos los unos por los otros.

If ye bite and deuoure one another, take heede least ye be consumed one of another.

16 Digo, pues: Andád en el Espíritu; y no cumpliréis los deseos de la carne.

Then I say, Walke in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lustes of the flesh.

17 Porque el deseo de la carne es contrario al deseo del Espíritu, y el deseo del Espíritu es contrario al deseo de la carne; y estas cosas se oponen la una a la otra, de manera que no podáis hacer lo que quisiereis.

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary one to another, so that ye can not doe the same things that ye would.

18 Mas si sois guiados del Espíritu, no estáis debajo de la ley.

And if ye be led by the Spirit, ye are not vnder the Lawe.

19 Manifiestas son empero las obras de la carne, que son estas: Adulterio, fornicación, inmundicia, disolución,

Moreouer the workes of the flesh are manifest, which are adulterie, fornication, vncleannes, wantonnes,

20 Idolatría, hechicerías, enemistades, pleitos, zelos, iras, contiendas, disensiones, herejías,

Idolatrie, witchcraft, hatred, debate, emulations, wrath, contentions, seditions, heresies,

21 Envidias, homicidios, embriagueces, banqueterías, y cosas semejantes a estas: de las cuales os denuncio, como también os he denunciado ya, que los que hacen tales cosas, no heredarán el reino de Dios.

Enuie, murthers, drunkennesse, gluttonie, and such like, whereof I tell you before, as I also haue tolde you before, that they which doe such things, shall not inherite the kingdome of God.

22 Mas el fruto del Espíritu es: Amor, gozo, paz, longanimidad, benignidad, bondad, fe,

But the fruite of the Spirit is loue, ioye, peace, long suffering, gentlenes, goodnes, fayth,

23 Mansedumbre, templanza: contra tales cosas, no hay ley.

Meekenesse, temperancie: against such there is no lawe.

24 Y los que son de Cristo, ya crucificaron la carne con sus afectos y concupiscencias.

For they that are Christes, haue crucified the flesh with the affections and the lustes.

25 Si vivimos por el Espíritu, andemos también por el Espíritu.

If we liue in the Spirit, let vs also walke in the Spirit.

26 No seamos codiciosos de vana gloria, irritando los unos a los otros, envidiosos los unos de los otros.

Let vs not be desirous of vaine glorie, prouoking one another, enuying one another.
