Daniel 6
1 Pareció bien a Darío de constituir sobre el reino ciento y veinte gobernadores, que estuviesen en todo el reino.
It pleased Darius to set ouer the kingdome an hundreth and twentie gouernours, which should be ouer the whole kingdome,
2 Y sobre ellos tres presidentes, de los cuales Daniel era el uno, a los cuales estos gobernadores diesen cuenta, porque el rey no recibiese daño.
And ouer these, three rulers (of whome Daniel was one) that the gouernours might giue accompts vnto them, and the King should haue no domage.
3 Entonces el mismo Daniel era superior a estos gobernadores y presidentes, por que había en él más abundancia de espíritu; y el rey pensaba de ponerle sobre todo el reino.
Now this Daniel was preferred aboue the rulers and gouernours, because the spirit was excellent in him, and the King thought to set him ouer the whole realme.
4 Entonces los presidentes, y gobernadores buscaban ocasiones contra Daniel por parte del reino: mas no podían hallar alguna ocasión o falta, porque él era fiel, y ningún vicio ni falta fue hallado en él.
Wherefore the rulers and gouernours sought an occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdome: but they could finde none occasion nor fault: for he was so faithfull that there was no blame nor fault found in him.
5 Entonces estos varones dijeron: Nunca hallaremos contra este Daniel alguna ocasión, si no la hallamos contra él en la ley de su Dios.
Then sayd these men, We shall not finde an occasion against this Daniel, except we finde it against him concerning the Law of his God.
6 Entonces estos gobernadores y presidentes se juntaron delante del rey, y le dijeron así: Rey Darío, para siempre vive.
Therefore the rulers and these gouernours went together to the King, and sayde thus vnto him, King Darius, liue for euer.
7 Todos los presidentes del reino, magistrados, gobernadores, grandes, y capitanes, han acordado por consejo de promulgar un edicto real, y confirmarle: Que cualquiera que demandare petición de cualquier dios o hombre por espacio de treinta días, si no de ti, o! rey, sea echado en el foso de los leones.
All the rulers of thy kingdome, the officers and gouernours, the counsellers, and dukes haue consulted together to make a decree for the King and to establish a statute, that whosoeuer shall aske a petition of any god or man for thirtie dayes saue of thee, O King, he shalbe cast into the denne of lyons.
8 Ahora, o! rey, confirma el edicto, y firma la escritura, para que no se pueda mudar, conforme a la ley de Media y de Persia, que no se quebranta.
Nowe, O King, confirme the decree, and seale the writing, that it be not changed according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
9 Por esta causa el rey Darío firmó la escritura y el edicto.
Wherefore King Darius sealed the writing and the decree.
10 Y Daniel cuando supo que la escritura estaba firmada, entróse en su casa, y abiertas las ventanas de su cenadero, que estaban hacia Jerusalem, hincábase de rodillas tres veces al día; y oraba, y daba gracias delante de su Dios, como lo solía hacer antes.
Now when Daniel vnderstood that he had sealed the writing, hee went into his house, and his window being open in his chamber toward Ierusalem, he kneeled vpon his knees three times a day, and prayed and praysed his God, as he did aforetime.
11 Entonces aquellos varones se juntaron, y hallaron a Daniel orando y rogando delante de su Dios.
Then these men assembled, and founde Daniel praying, and making supplication vnto his God.
12 Entonces llegáronse, y hablaron delante del rey del edicto real, diciendo: ¿No confirmaste edicto, que cualquiera que pidiere a cualquier dios o hombre por espacio de treinta días, si no a ti, o! rey, fuese echado en el foso de los leones? Respondió el rey, y dijo: Verdad es, conforme a la ley de Media y de Persia, que no se quebranta.
So they came and, spake vnto the King concerning the Kings decree, Hast thou not sealed the decree, that euery man that shall make a request to any god or man within thirtie dayes, saue to thee, O King, shall be cast into the denne of lyons? The King answered, and sayd, The thing is true, according to the Lawe of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
13 Entonces respondieron, y dijeron delante del rey: Daniel que es de los hijos de la cautividad de los Judíos, no ha hecho cuenta de ti, o! rey, ni del edicto que confirmaste; antes tres veces al día pide su petición.
Then answered they, and sayd vnto the King, This Daniel which is of the children of the captiuitie of Iudah, regardeth not thee, O King, nor the decree, that thou hast sealed, but maketh his petition three times a day.
14 El rey entonces, oyendo el negocio, pesóle en grande manera, y sobre Daniel puso cuidado para escaparle; y hasta que el sol fue puesto trabajó por escaparle.
When the King heard these wordes, hee was sore displeased with himselfe, and set his heart on Daniel, to deliuer him: and he laboured till the sunne went downe, to deliuer him.
15 Entonces aquellos varones se juntaron cerca del rey, y dijeron al rey: Sepas, o! rey, que es ley de Media y de Persia, que ningún decreto o ordenanza que el rey confirmare pueda ser mudada.
Then these men assembled vnto the King, and sayde vnto ye King, Vnderstand, O King, that the lawe of the Medes and Persians is, that no decree nor statute which the King confirmeth, may be altered.
16 Entonces el rey mandó, y trajeron a Daniel, y echáronle en el foso de los leones. Y hablando el rey, dijo a Daniel: El Dios tuyo, a quien tú continuamente sirves, él te libre.
Then the King commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the denne of lyons: now the King spake, and said vnto Daniel, Thy God, whome thou alway seruest, euen he will deliuer thee.
17 Y fue traída una piedra, y fue puesta sobre la puerta del foso, la cual el rey selló con su anillo, y con el anillo de sus príncipes, porque la voluntad no se mudase para con Daniel.
And a stone was brought, and layed vpon the mouth of the denne, and the King sealed it with his owne signet, and with the signet of his princes, that the purpose might not be changed, concerning Daniel.
18 Entonces el rey se fue a su palacio, y acostóse ayuno, ni instrumentos de música fueron traídos delante de él; y su sueño se huyó de él.
Then the King went vnto his palace, and remained fasting, neither were the instruments of musike brought before him, and his sleepe went from him.
19 El rey entonces se levantó de mañana en amaneciendo, y vino apriesa al foso de los leones.
Then the King arose early in the morning, and went in all haste vnto the denne of lyons.
20 Y llegándose cerca del foso llamó a voces a Daniel con voz triste; y hablando el rey, dijo a Daniel: Daniel, siervo del Dios viviente, el Dios tuyo, a quien tú continuamente sirves, ¿háte podido librar de los leones?
And when he came to the denne, he cryed with a lamentable voyce vnto Daniel: and the King spake, and saide to Daniel, O Daniel, the seruant of ye liuing God, is not thy God (whom thou alway seruest) able to deliuer thee from the lyons?
21 Entonces Daniel habló con el rey, y dijo: Rey, para siempre vive:
Then saide Daniel vnto the King, O King, liue for euer.
22 El Dios mío envió su ángel, el cual cerró la boca de los leones, porque no me hiciesen mal; porque delante de él se halló justicia en mí; y aun delante de ti, o! rey, yo no he hecho lo que no debiese.
My God hath sent his Angel and hath shut the lyons mouthes, that they haue not hurt mee: for my iustice was founde out before him: and vnto thee, O King, I haue done no hurt.
23 Entonces el rey fue en grande manera alegre con él; y mandó sacar a Daniel del foso; y Daniel fue sacado del foso, y ninguna lesión se halló en él, porque creyó en su Dios.
Then was the King exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel out of the denne: so Daniel was brought out of the denne, and no maner of hurt was found vpon him, because he beleeued in his God.
24 Y mandándolo el rey, fueron traídos aquellos varones que habían acusado a Daniel, y fueron echados en el foso de los leones, ellos, sus hijos, y sus mujeres; y aun no habían llegado al suelo del foso, cuando los leones se apoderaron de ellos, y quebrantaron todos sus huesos.
And by the commandement of the King these me which had accused Daniel, were brought, and were cast into the denne of lions, euen they, their children, and their wiues: and the lyons had the mastry of them, and brake all their bones a pieces, or euer they came at the groud of the denne.
25 Entonces el rey Darío escribió: A todos los pueblos, naciones, y lenguajes, que habitan en toda la tierra, paz os sea multiplicada.
Afterwarde King Darius wrote, Vnto all people, nations and languages, that dwel in all the world: Peace be multiplied vnto you.
26 De parte mía es puesta ordenanza, que en todo el señorío de mi reino todos teman y tiemblen de la presencia del Dios de Daniel; porque él es Dios viviente, y permaneciente por todos los siglos; y su reino que no se deshará, y su señorío hasta la fin:
I make a decree that in all the dominion of my kingdome, men tremble and feare before the God of Daniel: for he is the liuing God, and remayneth for euer: and his kingdome shall not perish, and his dominion shalbe euerlasting.
27 Que escapa, y libra, y hace señales y maravillas en el cielo, y en la tierra: el cual libró a Daniel del poder de los leones.
Hee rescueth and deliuereth, and hee worketh signes and wonders in heauen and in earth, who hath deliuered Daniel from the power of the lyons.
28 Y este Daniel fue prosperado durante el reino de Darío, y durante el reino de Ciro, Persa.
So this Daniel prospered in the reigne of Darius and in the reigne of Cyrus of Persia.
