Colosenses 3

1 Mas si habéis resucitado con Cristo, buscád lo que es de arriba, donde está Cristo sentado a la diestra de Dios.

Since, therefore, you were raised to Life with the Christ, seek for the things that are above; for it is there that the Christ is ‘seated at the right hand of God.’

2 Ponéd vuestro corazón en las cosas de arriba, no en las de la tierra.

Fix your thoughts upon the things that are above, not upon those that are on earth.

3 Porque muertos estáis, y vuestra vida está guardada con Cristo en Dios.

For you died, and your Life now lies hidden, with the Christ, in God.

4 Cuando se manifestare Cristo, que es nuestra vida, entonces vosotros también seréis manifestados con él en gloria.

When the Christ, who is our Life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

5 Hacéd morir, pues, vuestros miembros que están sobre la tierra, es a saber, la fornicación, la inmundicia, la molicie, la mala concupiscencia, y la avaricia, la cual es idolatría:

Therefore destroy all that is earthly in you — immorality, uncleanness, passions, evil desires, and that greed which is idolatry.

6 Por las cuales cosas la ira de Dios viene sobre los hijos de rebelión:

These are the things on account of which the Wrath of God comes,

7 En las cuales vosotros también andabais en otro tiempo, cuando vivíais en ellas.

and to which you, like others, once devoted your lives, when you lived for them.

8 Mas ahora dejáos también vosotros de todas estas cosas; ira, enojo, malicia, maledicencia, torpes palabras de vuestra boca:

You, however, must now lay aside all such things — anger, passion, malice, slander, abuse.

9 No mintáis los unos a los otros, habiéndoos despojado del hombre viejo con sus hechos,

Never lie to one another. Get rid of your old self and its habits,

10 Y habiéndoos vestido del nuevo, el cual es renovado en el conocimiento, conforme a la imagen del que le creó:

and clothe yourselves with that new self, which, as it gains in knowledge, is being constantly renewed ‘in resemblance to him who made it.’

11 Donde no hay Griego ni Judío, circuncisión ni incircuncisión, bárbaro ni Escita, siervo ni libre; mas Cristo es todo y en todo.

In that new life there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, freeman; but Christ is all! — and in all!

12 Vestíos, pues, (como los escogidos de Dios, santos, y amados) de entrañas de misericordia, de benignidad, de humildad de espíritu, de mansedumbre, de longanimidad:

Therefore, as God’s People, consecrated and dear to him, clothe yourselves with tenderness of heart, kindliness, humility, gentleness, forbearance;

13 Soportándoos los unos a los otros, y perdonándoos los unos a los otros, si alguno tuviere queja contra otro: a la manera que Cristo os perdonó, así también perdonád vosotros.

bearing with one another, and, when there is any ground for complaint, forgiving one another freely. As the Master freely forgave you, so you must forgive one another.

14 Y sobre todas estas cosas vestíos de amor, el cual es el vínculo de la perfección.

Over all these virtues put on love; for that is the girdle which makes all complete.

15 Y la paz de Dios reine en vuestros corazones: a la cual asimismo sois llamados en un mismo cuerpo; y sed agradecidos.

Let the Peace that the Christ gives decide all doubts within your hearts; for you also were called to the enjoyment of peace as members of one Body. And show yourselves thankful.

16 La palabra de Cristo habite en vosotros abundantemente en toda sabiduría; enseñándoos, y exhortándoos los unos a los otros con salmos, e himnos, y canciones espirituales, con gracia cantando en vuestros corazones al Señor.

Let the Message of the Christ dwell in your minds in all its wealth, bringing all wisdom with it. Teach and admonish one another with psalms, and hymns, and sacred songs, full of the loving-kindness of God, lifting your hearts in song to him.

17 Y todo lo que hiciereis, en palabra, o en obra, hacédlo todo en el nombre del Señor Jesús, dando gracias a Dios y al Padre por medio de él.

And, whatever you say or do, do everything in the Name of the Lord Jesus; and through him offer thanksgiving to God the father.

18 Casadas, estád sujetas a vuestros propios maridos, como conviene en el Señor.

Wives, submit to your husbands, as befits those who belong to the Lord.

19 Maridos, amád a vuestras mujeres, y no les seáis desabridos.

Husbands, love your wives, and never treat them harshly.

20 Hijos, obedecéd a vuestros padres en todo; porque esto agrada al Señor.

Children, always obey your parents; for that is pleasant to see in those who belong to the Lord.

21 Padres, no exasperéis a vuestros hijos, porque no se desalienten.

Fathers, never irritate your children, lest they should become disheartened.

22 Siervos, obedecéd en todo a vuestros señores según la carne, no sirviendo al ojo, como los que agradan a los hombres, sino con sencillez de corazón, temiendo a Dios.

Slaves, always obey your earthly masters, not only when their eyes are on you, as if you had but to please men, but giving them ungrudging service, in your reverence for the Master.

23 Y todo lo que hiciereis hacéd lo de corazón, como mirando al Señor, y no a los hombres:

Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as if working for the Master and not for men,

24 Estando ciertos que del Señor recibiréis el premio de la herencia; porque al Señor Cristo servís.

since you know that it is from the Master that you will receive the inheritance which will be your recompense. You are serving Christ, the Master.

25 Mas el que hace injusticia, recibirá la injusticia que hiciere; que no hay respeto de personas.

Those who do wrong will reap the wrong they have done; and there will be no partiality.
