Hechos 7
1 El sumo sacerdote dijo entonces: ¿Es esto así?
Then sayd the chiefe Priest, Are these things so?
2 Y él dijo: Varones, hermanos, y padres, escuchád. El Dios de gloria apareció a nuestro padre Abraham estando él en Mesopotamia, antes que morase en Carran.
And he sayd, Ye men, brethren and Fathers, hearken. That God of glory appeared vnto our father Abraham, while he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,
3 Y le dijo: Sal de tu tierra, y de tu parentela, y ven a la tierra que te mostraré.
And said vnto him, Come out of thy countrey, and from thy kindred, and come into the land, which I shall shewe thee.
4 Entonces salió él de la tierra de los Caldeos, y habitó en Carran; y de allí, muerto su padre, le traspasó a esta tierra, en la cual vosotros habitáis ahora.
Then came he out of the land of the Chaldeans, and dwelt in Charran. And after that his father was dead, God brought him from thence into this land, wherein ye now dwell,
5 Y no le dio posesión en ella, ni aun una pisada de un pie; mas le prometió que se la daría en posesión a él, y a su simiente después de él, no teniendo aun hijo.
And hee gaue him none inheritance in it, no, not the bredth of a foote: yet he promised that he would giue it to him for a possession, and to his seede after him, when as yet hee had no childe.
6 Y le habló Dios así: Que su simiente sería extranjera en tierra ajena, y que los sujetarían a servidumbre, y que los maltratarían, por cuatrocientos años:
But God spake thus, that his seede should be a soiourner in a strange land: and that they should keepe it in bondage, and entreate it euill foure hundreth yeeres.
7 Mas a la nación a quien serán siervos, yo la juzgaré, dijo Dios; y después de esto saldrán, y me servirán a mí en este lugar.
But the nation to whome they shall be in bondage, will I iudge, sayth God: and after that, they shall come forth and serue me in this place.
8 Y le dio el concierto de la circuncisión; y así engendró Abraham a Isaac, y le circuncidó al octavo día; e Isaac engendró a Jacob, y Jacob a los doce patriarcas.
Hee gaue him also the couenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begate Isaac, and circumcised him the eight day: and Isaac begate Iacob, and Iacob the twelue Patriarkes.
9 Y los patriarcas, movidos de envidia, vendieron a José para Egipto; mas Dios era con él,
And the Patriarkes moued with enuie, solde Ioseph into Egypt: but God was with him,
10 Y le libró de todas sus tribulaciones, y le dio favor y sabiduría en la presencia de Faraón, rey de Egipto, el cual le puso por gobernador sobre Egipto, y sobre toda su casa.
And deliuered him out of all his afflictions, and gaue him fauour and wisdome in the sight of Pharao King of Egypt, who made him gouernour ouer Egypt, and ouer his whole house.
11 Vino entonces hambre en toda la tierra de Egipto y de Canaán, y grande tribulación; y nuestros padres no hallaban alimentos.
Then came there a famine ouer all the land of Egypt and Chanaan, and great affliction, that our fathers found no sustenance.
12 Y como oyese Jacob que había trigo en Egipto, envió a nuestros padres la primera vez.
But when Iacob heard that there was corne in Egypt, he sent our fathers first:
13 Y en la segunda, José fue conocido de sus hermanos, y fue sabido de Faraón el linaje de José.
And at the second time, Ioseph was knowen of his brethren, and Iosephs kindred was made knowen vnto Pharao.
14 Y enviando José, hizo venir a su padre Jacob, y a toda su parentela, a setenta y cinco almas.
Then sent Ioseph and caused his father to be brought, and all his kindred, euen threescore and fifteene soules.
15 Así descendió Jacob a Egipto, donde murió él, y nuestros padres,
So Iacob went downe into Egypt, and he dyed, and our fathers,
16 Los cuales fueron traspasados a Siquem, y fueron puestos en el sepulcro que compró Abraham a precio de plata de los hijos de Hemor, padre de Siquem.
And were remoued into Sychem, and were put in the sepulchre, that Abraham had bought for money of the sonnes of Emor, sonne of Sychem.
17 Mas como se acercó el tiempo de la promesa, la cual Dios había jurado a Abraham, creció el pueblo, y se multiplicó en Egipto,
But when the time of the promise drewe neere, which God had sworne to Abraham, the people grewe and multiplied in Egypt,
18 Hasta que se levantó otro rey, que no conocía a José.
Till another King arose, which knewe not Ioseph.
19 Este, usando de astucia con nuestro linaje, maltrató a nuestros padres, de manera que expusiesen a sus niños, para que cesase la generación.
The same dealt subtilly with our kindred, and euill entreated our fathers, and made them to cast out their yong children, that they should not remaine aliue.
20 En aquel mismo tiempo nació Moisés, y fue hermoso en gran manera; y fue criado tres meses en casa de su padre.
The same time was Moses borne, and was acceptable vnto God, which was nourished vp in his fathers house three moneths.
21 Mas siendo expuesto, la hija de Faraón le tomó, y le crió para sí por hijo.
And when he was cast out, Pharaohs daughter tooke him vp, and nourished him for her owne sonne.
22 Y fue enseñado Moisés en toda la sabiduría de los Egipcios; y era poderoso en sus dichos y hechos.
And Moses was learned in all the wisdome of the Egyptians, and was mightie in wordes and in deedes.
23 Y como se le cumplió el tiempo de cuarenta años, le vino en su corazón de visitar a sus hermanos los hijos de Israel.
Nowe when he was full fourtie yeere olde, it came into his heart to visite his brethren, the children of Israel.
24 Y como vio a uno de ellos que era injuriado, le defendió, e hiriendo al Egipcio, vengó al injuriado.
And whe he saw one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and auenged his quarell that had the harme done to him, and smote the Egyptian.
25 Pero él pensaba que sus hermanos entendiesen, que Dios les había de dar salud por su mano; mas ellos no lo habían entendido.
For hee supposed his brethren would haue vnderstand, that God by his hande should giue them deliuerance: but they vnderstoode it not.
26 Y el día siguiente riñendo ellos, se les mostró, y los metía en paz, diciendo: Varones, hermanos sois, ¿por qué os injuriáis los unos a los otros?
And the next day, he shewed himselfe vnto them as they stroue, and woulde haue set them at one againe, saying, Syrs, ye are brethren: why doe ye wrong one to another?
27 Entonces el que injuriaba a su prójimo, le rempujó, diciendo: ¿Quién te ha puesto a ti por príncipe y juez sobre nosotros?
But he that did his neighbour wrong, thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a prince, and a iudge ouer vs?
28 ¿Quieres tú matarme, como mataste ayer al Egipcio?
Wilt thou kill mee, as thou diddest the Egyptian yesterday?
29 A esta palabra Moisés huyó; y se hizo extranjero en tierra de Madián, donde engendró dos hijos.
Then fled Moses at that saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian, where he begate two sonnes.
30 Y cumplidos cuarenta años, el ángel del Señor le apareció en el desierto del monte de Sinaí en fuego de llama en un zarzal.
And when fourtie yeres were expired, there appeared to him in the wildernes of mout Sina, an Angel of the Lord in a flame of fire, in a bush.
31 Entonces Moisés mirando, fue maravillado de la visión; y llegándose para considerar, vino a él la voz del Señor,
And when Moses sawe it, hee wondred at the sight: and as he drew neere to consider it, the voyce of the Lord came vnto him, saying,
32 Diciendo: Yo soy el Dios de tus padres, el Dios de Abraham, y el Dios de Isaac, y el Dios de Jacob; mas Moisés temeroso, no osaba mirar.
I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Iacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold it.
33 Y le dijo el Señor: Desata los zapatos de tus pies, porque el lugar en que estás, tierra santa es.
Then the Lord said to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feete: for the place where thou standest, is holy ground.
34 He visto, he visto la aflicción de mi pueblo que está en Egipto, y el gemido de ellos he oído, y he descendido para librarlos: ahora pues ven, te enviaré a Egipto.
I haue seene, I haue seene the affliction of my people, which is in Egypt, and I haue heard their groning, and am come downe to deliuer them: and nowe come, and I will sende thee into Egypt.
35 A este Moisés, al cual ellos habían negado, diciendo: ¿Quién te ha puesto por príncipe y juez? a éste envió Dios por príncipe y libertador por la mano del ángel que le apareció en el zarzal.
This Moses whome they forsooke, saying, Who made thee a prince and a iudge? the same God sent for a prince, and a deliuerer by the hand of the Angel, which appeared to him in the bush.
36 Este los sacó, haciendo prodigios y milagros en la tierra de Egipto, y en el mar Bermejo, y en el desierto por cuarenta años.
Hee brought them out, doing wonders, and miracles in the land of Egypt, and in the red sea, and in the wildernes fourtie yeeres.
37 Este es aquel Moisés, que dijo a los hijos de Israel: Profeta os levantará el Señor Dios vuestro, de vuestros hermanos, como yo; a él oiréis.
This is that Moses, which saide vnto the children of Israel, A Prophet shall the Lord your God raise vp vnto you, euen of your brethren, like vnto me: him shall ye heare.
38 Este es el que estuvo en la iglesia en el desierto con el ángel que le hablaba en el monte de Sinaí; y con nuestros padres: que recibió los oráculos vivos de vida para darnos.
This is he that was in the Congregation, in the wildernes with the Angell, which spake to him in mount Sina, and with our fathers, who receiued the liuely oracles to giue vnto vs.
39 Al cual nuestros padres no quisieron obedecer: antes le desecharon; y se volvieron aun de corazón a Egipto,
To whom our fathers would not obey, but refused, and in their hearts turned backe againe into Egypt:
40 Diciendo a Aarón: Háznos dioses que vayan delante de nosotros; porque a este Moisés, que nos sacó de la tierra de Egipto, no sabemos que le ha acontecido.
Saying vnto Aaron, Make vs gods that may goe before vs: for we knowe not what is become of this Moses that brought vs out of the land of Egypt.
41 Y en aquellos días hicieron un becerro, y ofrecieron sacrificio al ídolo, y en las obras de sus manos se holgaron.
And they made a calfe in those dayes, and offered sacrifice vnto the idole, and reioyced in the workes of their owne handes.
42 Entonces Dios se apartó, y los entregó que sirviesen al ejército del cielo, como está escrito en el libro de los profetas: ¿Me ofrecisteis víctimas y sacrificios en el desierto por el espacio de cuarenta años, casa de Israel?
Then God turned himselfe away, and gaue them vp to serue the host of heauen, as it is written in the booke of the Prophets, O house of Israel, haue ye offred to me slaine beasts and sacrifices by the space of fourtie yeres in the wildernes?
43 Antes trajisteis el tabernáculo de Moloc, y la estrella de vuestro dios Remfan, figuras que os hicisteis para adorarlas; y yo os trasportaré más allá de Babilonia.
And ye tooke vp the tabernacle of Moloch, and the starre of your god Remphan, figures, which ye made to worship them: therefore I will carie you away beyond Babylon.
44 Tuvieron nuestros padres el tabernáculo del testimonio en el desierto, como les ordenó Dios, hablando a Moisés, que lo hiciese según la forma que había visto.
Our fathers had the tabernacle of witnes, in the wildernes, as hee had appointed, speaking vnto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seene.
45 El cual recibido, metieron también nuestros padres con Jesús en la posesión de los Gentiles, que Dios echó de la presencia de nuestros padres, hasta los días de David.
Which tabernacle also our fathers receiued, and brought in with Iesus into the possession of the Gentiles, which God draue out before our fathers, vnto the dayes of Dauid:
46 El cual halló favor delante de Dios, y pidió de hallar tabernáculo para el Dios de Jacob.
Who found fauour before God, and desired that hee might finde a tabernacle for the God of Iacob.
47 Mas Salomón le edificó casa.
But Salomon built him an house.
48 Sin embargo el Altísimo no habita en templos hechos de manos, como el profeta dice:
Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with handes, as saith the Prophet,
49 El cielo es mi trono; y la tierra el estrado de mis pies. ¿Qué casa me edificaréis? dice el Señor: ¿o cuál es el lugar de mi reposo?
Heauen is my throne, and earth is my footestoole: what house wil ye build for me, saith the Lord? or what place is it that I should rest in?
50 ¿No hizo mi mano todas estas cosas?
Hath not mine hand made all these things?
51 Duros de cerviz, e incircuncisos de corazón y de oídos: vosotros resistís siempre al Espíritu Santo; como vuestros padres hicieron, así también hacéis vosotros.
Ye stiffenecked and of vncircumcised heartes and eares, ye haue alwayes resisted the holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do you.
52 ¿A cuál de los profetas no persiguieron vuestros padres? y mataron a los que antes anunciaron la venida del Justo, del cual vosotros ahora habéis sido entregadores y matadores:
Which of the Prophets haue not your fathers persecuted? and they haue slaine them, which shewed before of the comming of that Iust, of whome ye are now the betrayers and murtherers,
53 Que recibisteis la ley por disposición de ángeles, y no la guardasteis.
Which haue receiued the Lawe by the ordinance of Angels, and haue not kept it.
54 En oyendo estas cosas fueron heridos hasta el corazón, y crujían los dientes contra él.
But when they heard these thinges, their heartes brast for anger, and they gnashed at him with their teeth.
55 Mas él estando lleno del Espíritu Santo, puestos los ojos en el cielo, vio la gloria de Dios, y a Jesús que estaba a la diestra de Dios,
But he being full of the holy Ghost, looked stedfastly into heauen, and sawe the glory of God, and Iesus standing at the right hand of God,
56 Y dijo: He aquí, veo los cielos abiertos, y al Hijo del hombre que está a la diestra de Dios.
And said, Beholde, I see the heauens open, and the Sonne of man standing at the right hand of God.
57 Entonces ellos dando grandes voces, taparon sus orejas; y arremetieron unánimes contra él.
Then they gaue a shoute with a loude voyce, and stopped their eares, and ranne vpon him violently all at once,
58 Y echándo le fuera de la ciudad le apedreaban; y los testigos pusieron sus vestidos a los pies de un mancebo que se llamaba Saulo.
And cast him out of the citie, and stoned him: and the witnesses layd downe their clothes at a yong mans feete, named Saul.
59 Y apedrearon a Esteban, invocando él al Señor, y diciendo: Señor Jesús, recibe mi espíritu.
And they stoned Steuen, who called on God, and said, Lord Iesus, receiue my spirit.
60 Y puesto de rodillas, clamó a gran voz: Señor, no les pongas en cuenta este pecado. Y habiendo dicho esto, durmió.
And he kneeled downe, and cried with a loude voyce, Lord, laye not this sinne to their charge. And when he had thus spoken, he slept.
