Hechos 21
1 Y fue que como navegamos habiéndonos arrancado de ellos, vinimos camino derecho a Coos, y el día siguiente a Rodas, y de allí a Patara.
And it came to pass, that after we were gotten from them, and had launched, we came with a straight course unto Coos, and the [day] following unto Rhodes, and from thence unto Patara:
2 Y hallando una nave que pasaba a Fenicia, nos embarcamos, y partimos.
And finding a ship sailing over unto Phenicia, we went aboard, and set forth.
3 Y como comenzó a mostrársenos Chipre, dejándola a mano izquierda, navegamos a Siria, y vinimos a Tiro; porque la nave había de descargar allí su carga.
Now when we had discovered Cyprus, we left it on the left hand, and sailed into Syria, and landed at Tyre: for there the ship was to unlade her burden.
4 Y nos quedamos allí siete días, habiendo hallado discípulos, los cuales decían a Pablo por el Espíritu, que no subiese a Jerusalem.
And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.
5 Y cumplidos aquellos días, nos partimos, acompañándonos todos con sus mujeres e hijos hasta fuera de la ciudad; y puestos de rodillas en la ribera, oramos.
And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till [we were] out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed.
6 Y abrazándonos los unos a los otros, subimos en la nave, y ellos se volvieron a sus casas.
And when we had taken our leave one of another, we took ship; and they returned home again.
7 Y nosotros, cumplida la navegación, vinimos de Tiro a Tolemaida, y habiendo saludado a los hermanos, nos quedamos con ellos un día.
And when we had finished [our] course from Tyre, we came to Ptolemais, and saluted the brethren, and abode with them one day.
8 Y al otro día, partidos Pablo y los que con él estábamos, vinimos a Cesarea; y entrando en casa de Felipe el evangelista, el cual era uno de los siete, posamos con él.
And the next [day] we that were of Paul’s company departed, and came unto Cæsarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was [one] of the seven; and abode with him.
9 Y éste tenía cuatro hijas vírgenes que profetizaban.
And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.
10 Y quedándonos allí por muchos días, descendió de Judea un profeta llamado Agabo.
And as we tarried [there] many days, there came down from Judæa a certain prophet, named Agabus.
11 El cual como vino a nosotros, tomó el ceñidor de Pablo, y atándose los pies y las manos, dijo: Esto dice el Espíritu Santo: Al varón, cuyo es este ceñidor, así le atarán los Judíos en Jerusalem, y le entregarán en manos de los Gentiles.
And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver [him] into the hands of the Gentiles.
12 Lo cual como oímos, le rogamos nosotros, y los de aquel lugar, que no subiese a Jerusalem.
And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.
13 Entonces Pablo respondió: ¿Qué hacéis llorando, y quebrantándome el corazón? porque yo estoy presto no solo a ser atado, mas aun a morir en Jerusalem por el nombre del Señor Jesús.
Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
14 Y como no le pudimos persuadir, cesamos de instarle, diciendo: Hágase la voluntad del Señor.
And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.
15 Y después de estos días, apercibidos, subimos a Jerusalem.
And after those days we took up our carriages, and went up to Jerusalem.
16 Y vinieron también con nosotros de Cesarea algunos de los discípulos, trayendo consigo a un Mnasón de Chipre, discípulo antiguo con el cual posásemos.
There went with us also [certain] of the disciples of Cæsarea, and brought with them one Mnason of Cyprus, an old disciple, with whom we should lodge.
17 Y como llegamos a Jerusalem, los hermanos nos recibieron de buena voluntad.
And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.
18 Y el día siguiente Pablo entró con nosotros a Santiago, y todos los ancianos se juntaron.
And the [day] following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present.
19 Y habiéndolos saludado, les contó por menudo lo que Dios había hecho entre los Gentiles por su ministerio.
And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.
20 Y ellos como lo oyeron, glorificaron al Señor; y le dijeron: Ya ves, hermano, cuantos millares de Judíos hay que han creído; y todos son celadores de la ley:
And when they heard [it], they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:
21 Y han oído decir de ti, que enseñas a apartarse de Moisés a todos los Judíos que están entre los Gentiles, diciendo, que no han de circuncidar a sus hijos, ni andar según las costumbres.
And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise [their] children, neither to walk after the customs.
22 ¿Qué, pues, se ha de hacer? En todo caso la multitud ha de juntarse; porque oirán que has venido.
What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come.
23 Haz, pues, esto que te decimos: Tenemos cuatro varones que tienen voto sobre sí:
Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them;
24 Tomando a estos, santifícate con ellos, y gasta con ellos para que raigan sus cabezas; y que entiendan todos que no hay nada de lo que de ti han oído decir; sino que tú mismo andas también según orden, y guardas la ley.
Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave [their] heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but [that] thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.
25 Empero en cuanto a los que de los Gentiles han creído, nosotros hemos escrito; y determinamos, que no guarden nada de esto: solamente que se abstengan de lo que fuere sacrificado a los ídolos, y de sangre, y de estrangulado, y de fornicación.
As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written [and] concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from [things] offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.
26 Entonces Pablo, tomó a aquellos varones, y el día siguiente santificado con ellos, entró en el templo, anunciando ser cumplidos los días de la santificación, hasta ser ofrecida ofrenda por cada uno de ellos.
Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them.
27 Y como se acababan los siete días, unos Judíos de Asia, como le vieron en el templo, alborotaron todo el pueblo, y le echaron mano,
And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,
28 Dando voces, y diciendo: Varones Israelitas ayudád: éste es el hombre que por todas partes enseña a todos contra el pueblo, y contra la ley, y contra este lugar; y aun además de esto ha metido los Gentiles en el templo, y ha contaminado este santo lugar.
Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all [men] every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.
29 (Porque habían visto antes a Trófimo Efesio en la ciudad con él, el cual pensaban que Pablo había metido en el templo.)
(For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)
30 Así que toda la ciudad se alborotó, y se hizo un concurso de pueblo; y tomando a Pablo le llevaban arrastrando fuera del templo, y luego las puertas fueron cerradas.
And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut.
31 Y procurando ellos de matarle, fue dado aviso al tribuno de la compañía, que toda Jerusalem estaba alborotada.
And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.
32 El cual luego tomando soldados y centuriones, corrió a ellos. Y ellos como vieron al tribuno y a los soldados, cesaron de golpear a Pablo.
Who immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down unto them: and when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, they left beating of Paul.
33 Entonces llegando el tribuno, le prendió, y le mandó atar con dos cadenas; y le preguntó quién era, y que había hecho.
Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded [him] to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.
34 Y unos gritaban una cosa, y otros, otra, de entre la multitud; y como no podía entender nada de cierto a causa del alboroto, le mandó llevar a la fortaleza.
And some cried one thing, some another, among the multitude: and when he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle.
35 Y cuando llegó a las gradas, aconteció que fue llevado acuestas por los soldados a causa de la violencia del pueblo.
And when he came upon the stairs, so it was, that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the people.
36 Porque la multitud de pueblo venía detrás gritando: Afuera con él.
For the multitude of the people followed after, crying, Away with him.
37 Y como iban a meter a Pablo en la fortaleza, dijo al tribuno: ¿Me será lícito hablar contigo? Y él dijo: ¿Sabes tú Griego?
And as Paul was to be led into the castle, he said unto the chief captain, May I speak unto thee? Who said, Canst thou speak Greek?
38 ¿No eres tú aquel Egipcio que levantaste una sedición antes de estos días, y sacaste al desierto cuatro mil hombres salteadores?
Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?
39 Entonces Pablo le dijo: Yo de cierto soy hombre Judío, ciudadano de Tarso, ciudad no oscura de Cilicia: empero ruégote que me permitas que hable al pueblo.
But Paul said, I am a man [which am] a Jew of Tarsus, [a city] in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.
40 Y como él se lo permitió, Pablo estando en pie en las gradas, hizo señal con la mano al pueblo; y hecho grande silencio, les habló en lengua Hebrea, diciendo:
And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto [them] in the Hebrew tongue, saying,
