Hechos 14

1 Y aconteció en Iconio, que entrados ambos en la sinagoga de los Judíos, hablaron de tal manera que creyó una grande multitud de Judíos, y asimismo de Griegos.

And it came to passe in Iconium, that they went both together into the Synagogue of the Iewes, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Iewes and of the Grecians beleeued.

2 Mas los Judíos que fueron incrédulos, incitaron a los Gentiles, y corrompieron los ánimos de ellos contra los hermanos.

And the vnbeleeuing Iewes stirred vp, and corrupted the mindes of the Gentiles against the brethren.

3 Con todo eso se detuvieron allí mucho tiempo, hablando animosamente en el Señor, el cual daba testimonio a la palabra de su gracia, dando que señales y milagros fuesen hechos por las manos de ellos.

So therefore they abode there a long time, and spake boldly in the Lord, which gaue testimonie vnto the woord of his grace, and caused signes and woders to be done by their hands.

4 Y la multitud de la ciudad fue dividida; y unos eran con los Judíos, y otros con los apóstoles.

But the multitude of the city was deuided: and some were with the Iewes, and some with the Apostles.

5 Mas haciendo ímpetu los Judíos y los Gentiles, juntamente con sus príncipes, para afrentar los y apedrearlos,

And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and of the Iewes with their rulers, to doe them violence, and to stone them,

6 Entendiéndo lo ellos se huyeron a Listra y Derbe, ciudades de Licaonia, y por toda la tierra al derredor.

They were ware of it, and fled vnto Lystra, and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and vnto the region round about,

7 Y allí predicaban el evangelio.

And there preached the Gospel.

8 Y un varón de Listra, impotente de los pies, estaba sentado, cojo desde el vientre de su madre, que jamás había andado.

Nowe there sate a certaine man at Lystra, impotent in his feete, which was a creeple from his mothers wombe, who had neuer walked.

9 Este oyó hablar a Pablo: el cual, como puso los ojos en él, y vio que tenía fe para ser sano,

He heard Paul speake: who beholding him, and perceiuing that he had faith to be healed,

10 Dijo a gran voz: Levántate derecho sobre tus pies. Y él saltó, y anduvo.

Said with a loude voyce, Stand vpright on thy feete. And he leaped vp, and walked.

11 Y las gentes, visto lo que Pablo había hecho, alzaron la voz, diciendo en lengua Licaonia: Dioses en semejanza de hombres han descendido a nosotros.

Then when the people sawe what Paul had done, they lift vp their voyces, saying in ye speach of Lycaonia, Gods are come downe to vs in the likenesse of men.

12 Y a Barnabás llamaban Júpiter; y a Pablo, Mercurio, porque éste era el que llevaba la palabra.

And they called Barnabas, Iupiter: and Paul, Mercurius, because hee was the chiefe speaker.

13 Entonces el sacerdote de Júpiter que estaba delante de la ciudad de ellos, trayendo toros y guirnaldas delante de las puertas, quería con el pueblo ofrecer les sacrificio.

Then Iupiters priest, which was before their citie, brought bulles with garlands vnto the gates, and would haue sacrificed with the people.

14 Lo cual como oyeron los apóstoles Barnabás y Pablo, rompiendo sus ropas, saltaron en medio de la multitud, dando voces,

But when the Apostles, Barnabas and Paul heard it, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying,

15 Y diciendo: Varones, ¿por qué hacéis esto? Nosotros también somos hombres semejantes a vosotros, que os anunciamos que de estas vanidades os convirtáis al Dios vivo, que hizo el cielo, y la tierra, y la mar, y todo lo que está en ellos.

And saying, O men, why doe yee these things? We are euen men subiect to the like passions that yee be, and preache vnto you, that yee shoulde turne from these vaine things vnto the liuing God, which made heauen and earth, and the sea, and all things that in them are:

16 El cual en las edades pasadas ha dejado a todas las naciones andar en sus propios caminos:

Who in times past suffered all the Gentiles to walke in their owne waies.

17 Aunque no se dejó a sí mismo sin testimonio, bien haciendo, dándonos lluvias del cielo, y tiempos fructíferos, llenando de mantenimiento, y de alegría nuestros corazones.

Neuerthelesse, hee left not him selfe without witnes, in that hee did good and gaue vs raine from heauen, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with foode, and gladnesse.

18 Y diciendo estas cosas, apenas contuvieron las multitudes a que no les sacrificasen.

And speaking these things, scarce appeased they the multitude, that they had not sacrificed vnto them.

19 Entonces sobrevinieron unos Judíos de Antioquía y de Iconio, que persuadieron a la multitud; y habiendo apedreado a Pablo, le sacaron arrastrando fuera de la ciudad, pensando que ya estaba muerto.

Then there came certaine Iewes from Antiochia and Iconium, which when they had persuaded the people, stoned Paul, and drewe him out of the citie, supposing he had bene dead.

20 Mas rodéandole los discípulos, se levantó, y se entró en la ciudad; y un día después se partió con Barnabás a Derbe.

Howbeit, as the disciples stoode rounde about him, hee arose vp, and came into the citie, and the next day hee departed with Barnabas to Derbe.

21 Y como hubieron anunciado el evangelio a aquella ciudad, y enseñado a muchos, volviéronse a Listra, y a Iconio, y a Antioquía,

And after they had preached the glad tidings of the Gospel to that citie, and had taught many, they returned to Lystra, and to Iconium, and to Antiochia,

22 Confirmando los ánimos de los discípulos, exhortándolos que permaneciesen en la fe; y enseñándoles que es menester que por muchas tribulaciones entremos en el reino de Dios.

Confirming the disciples hearts, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, affirming that we must through many afflictions enter into the kingdome of God.

23 Y habiéndoles ordenado ancianos en cada una de las iglesias, y habiendo orado con ayunos, los encomendaron al Señor en el cual habían creído.

And when they had ordeined them Elders by election in euery Church, and prayed, and fasted, they commended them to the Lord in whome they beleeued.

24 Y pasando por Pisidia vinieron a Pamfilia.

Thus they went throughout Pisidia, and came to Pamphylia.

25 Y habiendo predicado la palabra en Perges, descendieron a Attalia.

And when they had preached the woorde in Perga, they came downe to Attalia,

26 Y de allí navegaron a Antioquía, de donde habían sido encomendados a la gracia de Dios para la obra que ya habían acabado.

And thence sailed to Antiochia, from whence they had bene comended vnto the grace of God, to the woorke, which they had fulfilled.

27 Y como vinieron, y juntaron la iglesia, relataron cuán grandes cosas había hecho Dios por medio de ellos; y como había abierto a los Gentiles la puerta de la fe.

And when they were come and had gathered the Church together, they rehearsed all the things that God had done by them, and howe he had opened the doore of faith vnto the Gentiles.

28 Y se quedaron allí mucho tiempo con los discípulos.

So there they abode a long time with the disciples.
