Hechos 10
1 Y había un varón en Cesarea llamado Cornelio, centurión de la compañía que se llamaba la Italiana,
Now there was a certain man in Qesarya, Cornelius by name, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment,
2 Piadoso, y temeroso de Dios con toda su casa, y que hacía muchas limosnas al pueblo, y que oraba a Dios siempre.
a devout man, and one who feared God with all his house, who gave gifts for the needy generously to the people, and always prayed to God.
3 Este vio en visión manifiestamente, como a la hora de nona del día, a un ángel de Dios que entraba a él, y le decía: Cornelio.
At about three in the afternoon, he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God coming to him, and saying to him, "Cornelius."
4 Y él, puestos en él los ojos, espantado, dijo: ¿Qué es esto, Señor? Y le dijo: Tus oraciones y tus limosnas han subido en memoria a la presencia de Dios.
He, fastening his eyes on him, and being frightened, said, "What is it, Lord?" He said to him, "Your prayers and your gifts to the needy have gone up for a memorial before God.
5 Envía pues ahora varones a Joppe, y haz venir a un tal Simón, que tiene por sobrenombre Pedro.
Now send men to Yupi, and bring one Shimon who is surnamed Kipha.
6 Este posa en casa de un cierto Simón, curtidor, que tiene su casa junto a la mar: él te dirá lo que debes hacer.
He lodges with one Shimon, a tanner, whose house is by the seaside."
7 E ido el ángel que hablaba con Cornelio, llamó a dos de sus criados, y a un soldado temeroso del Señor, de los que estaban siempre con él.
When the angel who spoke to him had departed, he called two of his household servants and a devout soldier of those who waited on him continually.
8 A los cuales, después de habérselo contado todo, los envió a Joppe.
Having explained everything to them, he sent them to Yupi.
9 Y un día después, yendo ellos de camino, y llegando cerca de la ciudad, Pedro subió sobre la casa a orar, cerca de la hora de sexta.
Now on the next day as they were on their journey, and got close to the city, Kipha went up on the housetop to pray at about noon.
10 Y aconteció que le vino una grande hambre, y quiso comer, y aparejándoselo ellos, cayó en un éxtasis.
He became hungry and desired to eat, but while they were preparing, he fell into a trance.
11 Y vio el cielo abierto, y que descendía a él un vaso, como un gran lienzo, que atado de los cuatro cantos fue abajado del cielo a la tierra:
He saw heaven opened and a certain container descending to him, like a great sheet let down by four corners on the earth,
12 En el cual había de todos los animales cuadrúpedos de la tierra, y fieras, y reptiles, y aves del cielo.
in which were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, crawling creatures and birds of the sky.
13 Y le vino una voz, diciendo: Levántate, Pedro, mata, y come.
A voice came to him, "Rise, Kipha, kill and eat."
14 Entonces Pedro dijo: Señor, no; porque ninguna cosa común, ni inmunda, he comido jamás.
But Kipha said, "Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean."
15 Y volvió la voz a decir le la segunda vez: Lo que Dios limpió, no lo llames tú común.
A voice came to him again the second time, "What God has cleansed, you must not call unclean."
16 Y esto fue hecho por tres veces; y el vaso volvió a ser recogido en el cielo.
This was done three times, and immediately the vessel was received up into heaven.
17 Y estando Pedro dudando dentro de sí, que sería la visión que había visto, he aquí, los varones que habían sido enviados por Cornelio, que preguntando por la casa de Simón, llegaron a la puerta.
Now while Kipha was very perplexed within himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, look, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Shimon's house, stood before the gate,
18 Y llamando, preguntaron, si Simón, que tenía por sobrenombre Pedro, posaba allí.
and called and asked whether Shimon, who was surnamed Kipha, was lodging there.
19 Y estando Pedro pensando en la visión, le dijo el Espíritu: He aquí, tres varones te buscan.
While Kipha was pondering the vision, the Rukha said to him, "Look, three men seek you.
20 Levántate pues, y desciende, y no dudes de ir con ellos, porque yo los he enviado.
But arise, get down, and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them."
21 Entonces Pedro descendiendo a los varones que le eran enviados por Cornelio, dijo: He aquí, yo soy el que buscáis: ¿qué es la causa por qué habéis venido?
Kipha went down to the men, and said, "Look, I am the one whom you seek. Why have you come?"
22 Y ellos dijeron: Cornelio, el centurión, varón justo, y temeroso de Dios, y de buen testimonio entre toda la nación de los Judíos, ha sido amonestado de Dios por un santo ángel, que te hiciese venir a su casa, y oyese de ti algunas palabras.
They said, "Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous man and one who fears God, and well spoken of by all the Jewish nation, was directed by a holy angel to invite you to his house, and to listen to what you say."
23 Pedro entonces metiéndolos dentro, los hospedó: y al día siguiente se fue con ellos; y le acompañaron algunos de los hermanos de Joppe.
So he called them in and lodged them. On the next day he arose and went out with them, and some of the brothers from Yupi accompanied him.
24 Y al otro día después entraron en Cesarea. Y Cornelio los estaba esperando, habiendo llamado a sus parientes, y a los amigos más familiares.
On the next day he entered into Qesarya. Cornelius was waiting for them, having called together his relatives and his near friends.
25 Y como Pedro entró, Cornelio le salió a recibir; y derribándose a sus pies, le adoró.
When it happened that Kipha entered, Cornelius met him, fell down at his feet, and worshiped him.
26 Mas Pedro le levantó, diciendo: Álzate, que yo mismo también soy hombre.
But Kipha raised him up, saying, "Stand up. I myself am also a man."
27 Y hablando con él, entró; y halló a muchos que se habían juntado.
And as he talked with him, he went in and found many gathered together.
28 Y les dijo: Vosotros sabéis, que no es lícito a un hombre Judío juntarse, o llegarse a uno de otra nación; mas me ha mostrado Dios, que a ningún hombre llame común o inmundo.
He said to them, "You yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man who is a Jew to join himself or come to one of another nation, but God has shown me that I should not call any man unholy or unclean.
29 Por lo cual llamado, he venido sin vacilar. Así que pregunto, ¿por qué causa me habéis hecho venir?
Therefore also I came without complaint when I was sent for. I ask therefore, why did you send for me?"
30 Entonces Cornelio dijo: Cuatro días ha que a esta hora yo estaba ayunando; y a la hora de nona estando orando en mi casa, he aquí, un varón se puso delante de mí en vestido resplandeciente,
Cornelius said, "Four days ago until this hour, at three in the afternoon, I was praying in my house, and look, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
31 Y dijo: Cornelio, tu oración es oída, y tus limosnas han venido en memoria a la presencia de Dios.
and said, 'Cornelius, your prayer is heard, and your gifts to the needy are remembered in the sight of God.
32 Envía pues a Joppe, y haz venir a Simón, que tiene por sobrenombre Pedro: éste posa en casa de Simón, curtidor, junto a la mar, el cual venido, te hablará.
Send therefore to Yupi, and summon Shimon, who is surnamed Kipha. He lodges in the house of Shimon, a tanner, by the seaside.'
33 Así que, envié luego a ti; y tú has hecho bien viniendo. Ahora, pues, todos nosotros estamos aquí en la presencia de Dios para oír todo lo que Dios te ha mandado.
Therefore I sent to you at once, and it was good of you to come. Now therefore we are all here present in the sight of God to hear all things that have been commanded you by the Lord."
34 Entonces Pedro, abriendo su boca, dijo: Hallo por verdad, que Dios no hace acepción de personas:
And Kipha opened his mouth and said, "Truly I perceive that God does not show favoritism;
35 Sino que de cualquiera nación, el que le teme y obra justicia, es de su agrado.
but in every nation he who fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.
36 La palabra que Dios envió a los hijos de Israel, anunciando la paz por Jesu Cristo: (este es el Señor de todos: )
He sent the message to the people of Israyel, preaching good news of peace through Yeshua Meshikha—he is Lord of all—
37 Vosotros sabéis, es decir, la cosa que ha sido hecha por toda Judea, comenzando desde Galilea, después del bautismo que Juan predicó:
that spoken word you yourselves know, which was proclaimed throughout all Yehuda, beginning from Galila, after the baptism which Yukhanan preached;
38 A Jesús de Nazaret, como le ungió Dios del Espíritu Santo, y de poder, el cual pasó haciendo bienes, y sanando a todos los oprimidos del diablo; porque Dios era con él.
even Yeshua of Natsrath, how God anointed him with the Rukha d'Qudsha and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
39 Y nosotros somos testigos de todas las cosas que hizo en la tierra de Judea, y en Jerusalem, al cual mataron colgándole en un madero.
We are witnesses of everything he did both in the land of the Jews and in Urishlim, whom they also killed by hanging on a tree.
40 A éste Dios le levantó al tercero día, e hizo que apareciese manifiestamente:
God raised him up the third day, and gave him to be revealed,
41 No a todo el pueblo, sino a los testigos que Dios antes había ordenado, es a saber, a nosotros, que comimos, y bebimos juntamente con él, después que resucitó de entre los muertos.
not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen before by God, to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.
42 Y nos mandó que predicásemos al pueblo, y testificásemos que él es el que Dios ha puesto por Juez de vivos y muertos.
He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that this is the one who is appointed by God as the judge of the living and the dead.
43 A éste dan testimonio todos los profetas, de que todos los que en él creyeren, recibirán perdón de pecados en su nombre.
All the prophets testify about him, that through his name everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins."
44 Estando aun hablando Pedro estas palabras, el Espíritu Santo cayó sobre todos los que oían la palabra.
While Kipha was still speaking these words, the Rukha d'Qudsha fell on all those who heard the word.
45 Y se espantaron los creyentes que eran de la circuncisión, que habían venido con Pedro, de que también sobre los Gentiles se derramase el don del Espíritu Santo.
They of the circumcision who believed were amazed, as many as came with Kipha, because the gift of the Rukha d'Qudsha was also poured out on the non-Jewish people.
46 Porque los oían que hablaban en lenguas extrañas, y que magnificaban a Dios. Entonces Pedro respondió:
For they heard them speaking in other tongues and magnifying God. Then Kipha answered,
47 ¿Puede alguien impedir el agua, que no sean bautizados estos, que han recibido el Espíritu Santo también como nosotros?
"Can anyone withhold the water, that these who have received the Rukha d'Qudsha as well as we should not be baptized?"
48 Y los mandó bautizar en el nombre del Señor. Y le rogaron que se quedase con ellos por algunos días.
He commanded them to be baptized in the name of Yeshua Meshikha. Then they asked him to stay some days.
