2 Samuel 23
1 Estas son las postreras palabras de David. Dijo David hijo de Isaí: y dijo aquel varón que fue levantado alto, el ungido del Dios de Jacob, el suave en cánticos de Israel:
Now these are the last words of David: The saying of David the son of Jesse, and the saying of the man raised on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet singer of Israel:
2 El Espíritu de Jehová ha hablado por mí, y su palabra ha sido en mi lengua.
The spirit of the LORD spoke by me, and His word was upon my tongue.
3 El Dios de Israel me ha dictado: El Fuerte de Israel habló: Señoreador de los hombres, justo señoreador en temor de Dios.
The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spoke to me: 'Ruler over men shall be the righteous, even he that ruleth in the fear of God,
4 Y como la luz de la mañana cuando sale el sol, de la mañana sin nubes resplandeciente, cuando cae lluvia sobre la yerba de la tierra:
And as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, a morning without clouds; when through clear shining after rain, the tender grass springeth out of the earth.'
5 No será así mi casa para con Dios: mas él ha hecho conmigo concierto perpetuo, ordenado en todas las cosas y seguro; por lo cual a toda mi salud, y a toda mi voluntad no así hará producir.
For is not my house established with God? for an everlasting covenant He hath made with me, ordered in all things, and sure; for all my salvation, and all my desire, will he not make it to grow?
6 Mas los hijos de Belial serán como espinas arrancadas todos ellos, las cuales nadie toma con la mano:
But the ungodly, they are as thorns thrust away, all of them, for they cannot be taken with the hand;
7 Mas el que quiere tocar en ellas, ármase de hierro, y de una asta de lanza, y son quemadas en su lugar.
But the man that toucheth them must be armed with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in their place.
8 Estos son los nombres de los varones valientes que tuvo David. El que se asentó en cátedra de sabiduría, principal de los tres, Adino Hesneo, que una vez fue sobre ochocientos muertos.
These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: Josheb-basshebeth a Tahchemonite, chief of the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite; he lifted up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time.
9 Después de este fue Eleazar, hijo de Dodo, hijo de Ahohi, entre los tres valientes que estaban con David, cuando desafiaron a los Filisteos, que se habían juntado allí a la batalla, cuando subieron los de Israel.
And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the son of an Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they jeoparded their lives against the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away;
10 Este levantándose hirió a los Filisteos hasta que su mano se cansó, y quedó su mano pegada a la espada. Aquel día Jehová hizo gran salud, y el pueblo se volvió en pos de él solamente a tomar el despojo.
he stood firm, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand did cleave unto the sword; and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to strip the slain.
11 Después de este fue Samma, hijo de Age, Arareo: Que habiéndose juntado los Filisteos en una aldea, había allí una suerte de tierra llena de lentejas, y el pueblo había huido delante de los Filisteos:
And after him was Shammah the son of Age the Ararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a plot of ground full of lentils; and the people fled from the Philistines.
12 Este entonces se paró en medio de la suerte de tierra, y defendióla, e hirió a los Filisteos, y Jehová hizo una gran salud.
But he stood in the midst of the plot, and defended it, and slew the Philistines; and the LORD wrought a great victory.
13 Estos tres que eran de los treinta principales, descendieron y vinieron en tiempo de la siega a David a la cueva de Odollam: y el campo de los Filisteos estaba en el valle de Rafaim.
And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam; and the troop of the Philistines were encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
14 David entonces estaba en la fortaleza, y la guarnición de los Filisteos estaba en Belén.
And David was then in the stronghold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Beth-lehem.
15 Y David tuvo deseo, y dijo: ¡Quién me diera de beber del agua de la cisterna de Belén, que está a la puerta!
And David longed, and said: 'Oh that one would give me water to drink of the well of Beth-lehem, which is by the gate!'
16 Entonces estos tres valientes rompieron en el campo de los Filisteos, y sacaron del agua de la cisterna de Belén, que estaba a la puerta, y tomaron, y trajéronla a David: mas él no la quiso beber, sino derramóla a Jehová, diciendo:
And the three mighty men broke through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth-lehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David; but he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.
17 Lejos sea de mí, oh Jehová, que yo haga esto. ¿La sangre de los varones que fueron por ella con peligro de su vida tengo de beber? Y no quiso beber de ella. Estos tres valientes hicieron esto.
And he said: 'Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this; shall I drink the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives?' therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.
18 Y Abisaí hermano de Joab, hijo de Sarvia, fue el principal de tres: el cual alzó su lanza contra trescientos, los cuales mató, y tuvo nombre entre los tres.
And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief of the three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred and slew them, and had a name among the three.
19 El fue el más noble de los tres, y el primero de ellos, mas no llegó a los tres primeros.
He was most honourable of the three; therefore he was made their captain; howbeit he attained not unto the first three.
20 Banaías, hijo de Joiada, hijo de un varón esforzado, grande en hechos, de Cabseel. Este hirió dos leones de Moab. Y él mismo descendió, e hirió un león en medio del foso en el tiempo de la nieve.
And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, he smote the two altar-hearths of Moab; he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow;
21 Y el mismo hirió a un Egipcio, hombre de grande estatura; y el Egipcio tenía una lanza en su mano: y él descendió a él con un palo, y arrebató al Egipcio la lanza de la mano, y con su misma lanza le mató.
and he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man; and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
22 Esto hizo Banaías, hijo de Joiada, y tuvo nombre entre los tres valientes.
These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had a name among the three mighty men.
23 De los treinta fue el más noble; mas no llegó a los tres primeros. Y púsole David en su consejo.
He was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three. And David set him over his guard.
24 Asael hermano de Joab fue de los treinta: Elhanán, hijo de Dodo, de Belén:
Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Beth-lehem;
25 Semma de Harodi: Elica de Harodi.
Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite;
26 Heles de Falti: Ira, hijo de Acces, de Tecua:
Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite;
27 Abiezer de Anatot: Mobonnai de Husa:
Abiezer the Anathothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite;
28 Selmón de Ahoh: Majarai de Netofat:
Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite;
29 Heleb, hijo de Baana de Netofat: Itai, hijo de Ribai, de Gabaat, de los hijos de Ben-jamín:
Heleb the son of Baanah the Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin;
30 Banaia de Faraton: Heddai del arroyo de Gaas:
Benaiah a Pirathonite, Hiddai of Nahale-gaash;
31 Abi-albón de Arbat: Azmavet de Barumi:
Abi-albon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite;
32 Eliaba, de Salaboni. Los hijos de Jasén, Jonatán:
Eliahba the Shaalbonite, of the sons of Jashen, Jonathan;
33 Semma de Orori: Ahiam, hijo de Sarar, de Arar:
Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Ararite;
34 Elifelet, hijo de Aasbai, hijo de Macati: Eliam, hijo de Aquitofel, de Gelon:
Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maacathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite;
35 Hesrai de Carmelo: Farai de Arbi:
Hezrai the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite;
36 Igaal, hijo de Natán, de Soba: Bani de Gadi:
Igal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite;
37 Selec de Ammón: Naharai de Berot, escudero de Joab, hijo de Sarvia:
Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, armour-bearer to Joab the son of Zeruiah;
38 Ira de Jetri: Gareb de Jetri:
Ira the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite;
39 Urías Jetteo: todos treinta y siete.
Uriah the Hittite. Thirty and seven in all.
