2 Corintios 2

1 Empero esto he determinado entre mí, de no venir otra vez a vosotros con tristeza.

But I determined this with myself, that I would not come again to you in heaviness.

2 Porque si yo os contristo, ¿quién será pues el que me alegrará, sino el mismo a quien yo contristare?

For if I make you sorry, who is he then that maketh me glad, but the same which is made sorry by me?

3 Y esto mismo os escribí, porque cuando viniere no tuviese tristeza sobre tristeza de lo que había de haber gozo: confiando en vosotros todos que mi gozo es el de todos vosotros.

And I wrote this same unto you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is [the joy] of you all.

4 Porque de en medio de mucha tribulación y angustia de corazón, os escribí con muchas lágrimas: no para que fueseis contristados, mas para que conocieseis cuán abundante amor tengo para con vosotros.

For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you.

5 Que si alguno ha causado tristeza, no me contristó a mí sino en parte, por no cargar la culpa sobre todos vosotros.

But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all.

6 Bástale al tal esta reprensión que fue hecha por muchos:

Sufficient to such a man [is] this punishment, which [was inflicted] of many.

7 De manera que ahora al contrario vosotros debéis más bien perdonar le, y consolar le, porque no sea el tal absorbido de demasiada tristeza.

So that contrariwise ye [ought] rather to forgive [him], and comfort [him], lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.

8 Por lo cual os ruego que confirméis vuestro amor para con él.

Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm [your] love toward him.

9 Porque también por este fin os escribí a vosotros, para conocer la prueba de vosotros, si sois obedientes en todo.

For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.

10 Al que vosotros perdonareis algo, también yo; porque también yo si algo he perdonado, a quien lo he perdonado, por vuestra causa lo he hecho en la persona de Cristo;

To whom ye forgive any thing, I [forgive] also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave [it], for your sakes [forgave I it] in the person of Christ;

11 Para que Satanás no nos gane alguna ventaja; porque no ignoramos sus maquinaciones.

Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

12 Mas cuando yo vine a Troas por predicar el evangelio de Cristo, y me fue abierta puerta en el Señor,

Furthermore, when I came to Troas to [preach] Christ’s gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,

13 No tuve reposo en mi espíritu, por no haber hallado a Tito mi hermano; y así despidiéndome de ellos, me partí desde allí para Macedonia.

I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia.

14 Mas gracias a Dios, el cual hace que siempre triunfemos en Cristo Jesús; y manifiesta el olor de su conocimiento por nosotros en todo lugar;

Now thanks [be] unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

15 Porque somos para Dios suave olor de Cristo en los que son salvos, y en los que se pierden:

For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

16 A estos olor de muerte para muerte; y a aquellos olor de vida para vida. Y para estas cosas ¿quién es suficiente?

To the one [we are] the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who [is] sufficient for these things?

17 Porque no somos, como muchos, adulteradores de la palabra de Dios; antes como de sinceridad, antes como de Dios, delante de Dios, en Cristo hablamos.

For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
