2 Crónicas 12

1 Y como Roboam hubo confirmado el reino, dejó la ley de Jehová, y con él todo Israel.

And it came to pass, when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established, and he was strong, that he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him.

2 Y en el quinto año del rey Roboam subió Sesac rey de Egipto contra Jerusalem, por cuanto se habían rebelado contra Jehová,

And it came to pass in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had dealt treacherously with the LORD,

3 Con mil y doscientos carros, y con sesenta mil hombres de a caballo: mas el pueblo que venía con él de Egipto no tenía número, de Libios, Trogloditas, y Etiopes.

with twelve hundred chariots, and threescore thousand horsemen; and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubim, the Sukkiim, and the Ethiopians.

4 Y tomó las ciudades fuertes de Judá, y llegó hasta Jerusalem.

And he took the fortified cities which pertained to Judah, and came unto Jerusalem.

5 Entonces vino Semeías profeta a Roboam, y a los príncipes de Judá que estaban congregados en Jerusalem por causa de Sesac, y díjoles: Así ha dicho Jehová: Vosotros me habéis dejado, y yo también os he dejado en mano de Sesac.

Now Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them: 'Thus saith the LORD: Ye have forsaken Me, therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.'

6 Y los príncipes de Israel, y el rey, se humillaron, y dijeron: Justo es Jehová.

Then the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said: 'The LORD is righteous.'

7 Y como vio Jehová, que se habían humillado, fue palabra de Jehová a Semeías, diciendo: Hánse humillado: no los destruiré, antes en breve los salvaré; y no se derramará mi ira contra Jerusalem por mano de Sesac.

And when the LORD saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah, saying: 'They have humbled themselves; I will not destroy them; but I will grant them some deliverance, and My wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.

8 Empero serán sus siervos; para que sepan que es servirme a mí, o servir a los reinos de las naciones.

Nevertheless they shall be his servants; that they may know My service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.'

9 Y subió Sesac rey de Egipto a Jerusalem, y tomó los tesoros de la casa de Jehová, y los tesoros de la casa del rey, todo lo llevó: y tomó los paveses de oro que Salomón había hecho,

So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house; he took all away; he took away also the shields of gold which Solomon had made.

10 E hizo el rey Roboam en lugar de ellos paveses de metal, y entrególos en manos de los príncipes de la guardia, que guardaba la entrada de la casa del rey.

And king Rehoboam made in their stead shields of brass, and committed them to the hands of the captains of the guard, that kept the door of the king's house.

11 Y cuando el rey iba a la casa de Jehová, venían los de la guardia, y traíanlos, y después los volvían a la cámara de la guardia.

And it was so, that as oft as the king entered into the house of the LORD, the guard came and bore them, and brought them back into the guard-chamber.

12 Y como él se humilló, la ira de Jehová se apartó de él, para no destruirle del todo: y también en Judá las cosas fueron bien.

And when he humbled himself, the anger of the LORD turned from him, that He would not destroy him altogether; and moreover in Judah there were good things found.

13 Y fortificado Roboam, reinó en Jerusalem: y era Roboam de cuarenta y un años, cuando comenzó a reinar, y diez y siete años reinó en Jerusalem, ciudad que escogió Jehová, para poner en ella su nombre, de todas las tribus de Israel: y el nombre de su madre fue Naama, Ammonita.

So king Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and reigned; for Rehoboam was forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put His name there; and his mother's name was Naamah the Ammonitess.

14 E hizo lo malo, porque no apercibió su corazón para buscar a Jehová.

And he did that which was evil, because he set not his heart to seek the LORD.

15 Y las cosas de Roboam primeras y postreras, ¿no están escritas en los libros de Semeías profeta, y de Addo vidente, en la cuenta de los linajes? Y hubo guerra perpetua entre Roboam y Jeroboam.

Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the histories of Shemaiah the prophet and of Iddo the seer, after the manner of genealogies? And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.

16 Y durmió Roboam con sus padres, y fue sepultado en la ciudad de David: y reinó en su lugar Abías su hijo.

And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David; and Abijah his son reigned in his stead.
