1 Tesalonicenses 1

1 Pablo, y Silvano, y Timoteo, a la iglesia de los Tesalonicenses, que es en Dios el Padre, y en el Señor Jesu Cristo. Gracia a vosotros, y paz de Dios Padre nuestro, y d el Señor Jesu Cristo.

Pavl, and Siluanus, and Timotheus, vnto the Church of the Thessalonians, which is in God the Father, and in the Lord Iesus Christ: Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Iesus Christ.

2 Damos siempre gracias a Dios por todos vosotros, haciendo memoria de vosotros en nuestras oraciones:

We giue God thankes alwayes for you all, making mention of you in our prayers

3 Sin cesar acordándonos de vuestra obra de fe, y trabajo de amor, y paciencia de esperanza en el Señor nuestro Jesu Cristo, delante del Dios y Padre nuestro:

Without ceasing, remembring your effectuall faith, and diligent loue, and the patience of your hope in our Lord Iesus Christ, in the sight of God euen our Father,

4 Sabiendo, hermanos, amados de Dios, vuestra elección;

Knowing, beloued brethren, that ye are elect of God.

5 Por cuanto nuestro evangelio no vino a vosotros en palabra solamente, mas también en potencia, y en el Espíritu Santo, y en muy cierta persuasión: como sabéis cuales fuimos entre vosotros por amor de vosotros.

For our Gospell was not vnto you in worde only, but also in power, and in the holy Ghost, and in much assurance, as ye know after what maner we were among you for your sakes.

6 Y vosotros fuisteis hechos imitadores de nosotros, y del Señor, recibiendo la palabra en mucha tribulación, con gozo del Espíritu Santo:

And ye became followers of vs, and of the Lord, and receiued the worde in much affliction, with ioy of the holy Ghost,

7 En tal manera que hayáis sido ejemplo a todos los que han creído en Macedonia, y en Acaya.

So that ye were as ensamples to all that beleeue in Macedonia and in Achaia.

8 Porque por vosotros ha resonado la palabra del Señor, no solo en Macedonia, y en Acaya, mas aun en todo lugar vuestra fe, que es en Dios, se ha extendido de tal manera que no tengamos necesidad de hablar nada.

For from you sounded out the worde of the Lord, not in Macedonia and in Achaia only: but your faith also which is toward God, spred abroad in all quarters, that we neede not to speake any thing.

9 Porque ellos cuentan de nosotros cual entrada tuvimos a vosotros; y de qué manera fuisteis convertidos de los ídolos a Dios, para servir al Dios vivo y verdadero;

For they themselues shew of vs what maner of entring in we had vnto you, and how ye turned to God from idoles, to serue the liuing and true God,

10 Y para esperar a su hijo de los cielos, al cual él levantó de los muertos, es a saber, Jesús, el cual nos libró de la ira que ha de venir.

And to looke for his sonne from heauen, whome he raised from the dead, euen Iesus which deliuereth vs from that wrath to come.
